Progressive Paper Gives Addresses of Republican Houses to Be Vandalized

Halloween isn't all about treats. There are also tricks — that is, vandalism. Seattle's progressive The Stranger helpfully instructs its moonbat readership on where this should take place, providing pictures of area houses with McCain and/or GOP gubernatorial candidate Dino Rossi yard signs, along with their addresses in prominent type.

If these houses happen get trashed, it's no worse than the owners deserve for failing to follow The One. Welcome to the political landscape of Obama Nation.

The article even quotes Edmund Burke:

No passion so effectually robs the mind of all its powers of acting and reasoning as fear.

This is why liberals have deliberately created a climate in which people don't dare express public support for Republicans, lest their cars get keyed or their houses firebombed.

Obama Already Taking Reprisals Against Noncompliant Media

If the sky falls and Obama is elected, no one will be able to say we weren't warned of what Change would entail. Here's how the Moonbat Messiah will treat renegades in the press who refuse to be compliant:

The Washington Times, N.Y. Post and Dallas Morning News — three newspapers that recently endorsed John McCain — have been kicked off Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's plane in the final days of his campaign.

Washington Times Executive Editor John Solomon comments:

This feels like the journalistic equivalent of redistributing the wealth. We spent hundreds of thousands of dollars covering Senator Obama's campaign, traveling on his plane, and taking our turn in the reporter's pool, only to have our seat given away to someone else in the last days of the campaign.

Adds McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds:

The least transparent and the least vetted candidate in history is now the least accessible — not surprising.

To see the steps Obama will take next, refer to his role model in Venezuela.

Opposition must be cut off and silenced. Otherwise how is The One supposed to unite us?

Halloween Fright

In honor of Halloween, here's something truly scary: an Obamunist bubbling with delight over what she expects the Moonbat Messiah to provide her at someone else's expense:

I won't have to worry about putting gas in my car. I won't have to worry about paying my mortgage. You know. If I help him, he's gonna help me.

Everything will be free, just like in the island paradise Cuba. Until they run out of "rich" people to loot. Then we'll have equality, and both the lazy and the industrious will root through the garbage for something to eat together in harmony.

Wikipedia Locks Rashid Khalidi Page Until After Election

Wikipedia has its limited uses, but serving as an objective political reference is not one of them. Obama only needs to keep the lid on his radical associations for a few more days, and he has a better than even chance to inflict unprecedented moonbattery on this country. The MSM is doing its part by keeping its mouth shut about terrorist scum like Obama's close friends Bill Ayers and Rashid Khalidi. Wikipedia is pitching in by keeping other people's mouths shut. The Rashid Khalidi page has been locked until after the election.

It's ominous how Obamunists seem to assume it won't matter what the public knows once they've seized power. You can't help but think of the African saying, "One man, one vote, one time."

On a tip from Burning Hot.

Update:

As Thulsa Doom points out in the comments, a Wikipedia page being locked doesn't mean you can't see it; it means you can't edit it. The point is to keep new information about Obama's close relationship with this Arab terrorist suppressed until after the election.

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Calls for Government Control of Radio

Moonbats are licking their chops at the prospect of what a Marxist president backed up by an irresponsible Dem-dominated Congress could make possible. An editorial at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette denounces conservative domination of talk radio as "un-American" and stridently calls for the imposition of the Orwellian "Fairness Doctrine" to put an end to it by having liberal bureaucrats micromanage the political content of any speech made over radio.

Actually, nothing could be more American than conservatives, all but locked out of print and television media, finding an alternative venue for their views. But you can't expect liberal totalitarians to be reasonable — especially when they anticipate having the whip hand. Check out this reasoning:

The Rush Limbaughs and Sean Hannitys have been given dominance from coast to coast, turning much of talk radio into a heated debate where only one side is heard. While such gabfests draw their share of listeners, a diverse lineup is likely to attract more ears, hence more advertisers and more dollars. And isn't that what the radio conglomerates want anyway?

Obviously there's no need for the government to force broadcasters to behave in their own financial interest. If anyone wanted to listen to moonbats on the radio, Air America wouldn't need to steal from charities to stay afloat.

Not that the Unfairness Doctrine would put more Randi Rodent types on the radio anyway. The idea is to make the bureaucratic requirements so onerous that radio stations will give up on the political talk format and play music or drone about gardening.

By the way, Rush and Sean were not "given dominance." They earned dominance, by serving a need. That's what capitalism is all about, and capitalism — i.e., economic freedom — along with freedom of political speech, is what America is all about.

Obama Speechwriter Wendy Button Defects to the Good Guys

Here's something you won't see prominently featured in the liberal establishment media: an Obama speechwriter realized what she had crawled into bed with and defected to the good guys. In her own words, this is why Wendy Button made the switch:

The final straw came the other week when Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher (a.k.a Joe the Plumber) asked a question about higher taxes for small businesses. Instead of celebrating his aspirations, they were mocked. He wasn't "a real plumber," and "They're fighting for Joe the Hedge-Fund manager," and the patronizing, "I've got nothing but love for Joe the Plumber."
…The party I believed in wouldn't look down on working people under any circumstance. And Joe the Plumber is right. This is the absolutely worst time to raise taxes on anyone: the rich, the middle class, the poor, small businesses and corporations.
…Not only has this party belittled working people in this campaign from Joe the Plumber to the bitter comments, it has also been part of tearing down two female candidates. At first, certain Democrats and the press called Senator Clinton "dishonest." They went after her cleavage. They said her experience as First Lady consisted of having tea parties. There was no outrage over "Bros before Hoes" or "Iron My Shirt." Did Senator Clinton make mistakes? Of course. She's human.
But here we are about a week out and it's déjà vu all over again. Really, front-page news is how the Republican National Committee paid for Governor Sarah Palin's wardrobe? Where's the op-ed about how Obama tucks in his shirt when he plays basketball or how Senator Biden buttons the top button on his golf shirt?
…Governor Palin and I don't agree on a lot of things, mostly social issues. But I have grown to appreciate the Governor. I was one of those initial skeptics and would laugh at the pictures. Not anymore. When someone takes on a corrupt political machine and a sitting governor, that is not done by someone with a low I.Q. or a moral core made of tissue paper. When someone fights her way to get scholarships and work her way through college even in a jagged line, that shows determination and humility you can't learn from reading Reinhold Niebuhr. When a mother brings her son with special needs onto the national stage with love, honesty, and pride, that gives hope to families like mine as my older brother lives with a mental disability. And when someone can sit on a stage during the Sarah Palin rap on Saturday Night Live, put her hands in the air and watch someone in a moose costume get shot — that's a sign of both humor and humanity.
Has she made mistakes? Of course, she's human too. But the attention paid to her mistakes has been unprecedented compared to Senator Obama's "57 states" remarks or Senator Biden using a version of the Samuel Johnson quote, "There's nothing like a hanging in the morning to focus a man's thoughts."
…I was dead wrong about the surge and thought it would be a disaster. Senator John McCain led when many of us were ready to quit. Yet we march on as if nothing has changed, wedded to an old plan, and that too is a long way from the Democratic Party.
I can no longer justify what this party has done and can't dismiss the treatment of women and working people as just part of the new kind of politics. It's wrong and someone has to say that.

She also points out that attempts to portray McCain as identical to Bush are bogus, and that McCain is the only candidate who has "worked in a bipartisan way on big challenges."

It's contemptible for the likes of Colin Powell and Scott McClellan to switch opportunistically to what appears to be the winning team. But to switch to the underdog on the basis of principle takes character. The media isn't going to commend her for it, but Button's integrity is still appreciated.

Delaware State Police Prevent Elderly Woman From Buying a Gun

Handguns have been called "equalizers," because they permit even the frailest among us to exercise the fundamental right of self-defense — except in Joe Biden-Land:

Delaware State Police stopped Alvina Vansickle from purchasing a .22-caliber pistol for self-defense because she was too old and a woman, said Superintendent Col. Thomas MacLeish.

Needless to say, the 81-year-old Mrs. Vansickle needed the gun all the more for being old and a woman.

Fortunately some of us are still American enough to object to the suppression of our Constitutional liberties. In the ensuing uproar, Mrs. Vansickle was allowed to purchase the revolver — and it was revealed that Delaware State Police have been keeping lists of gun buyers for years, despite legal requirements to destroy the records after 60 days.

Such lists will come in handy when an Obama/Biden Administration starts confiscating firearms, so as to leave us all as vulnerable as elderly women in the face of a heavily armed regime and the lowlife thugs it will represent.

Erica Jong on the Verge of an Obamunist Breakdown

It's nice to know that those of us who still believe in this country aren't the only ones terrified of how the election will turn out. Remember the feminist soft-core porn novelist Erica Jong? She and her moonbatty friends seem be having nervous breakdowns:

My friends Ken Follett and Susan Cheever are extremely worried. Naomi Wolf calls me every day. Yesterday, Jane Fonda sent me an email to tell me that she cried all night and can't cure her ailing back for all the stress that has reduces her to a bundle of nerves.
My back is also suffering from spasms, so much so that I had to see an acupuncturist and get prescriptions for Valium.

Erica and the gang are upset because the last two elections were stolen by the "Republican Mafia" — and evidently our voting machines are still rigged.

If Obama loses it will spark the second American Civil War. Blood will run in the streets, believe me. And it's not a coincidence that President Bush recalled soldiers from Iraq for Dick Cheney to lead against American citizens in the streets.
Bush has transformed America into a police state, from torture to the imprisonment of reporters, to the Patriot Act.

I'd heard rumors that Keith Olbermann might finally be carted off to Bellevue by the men in white coats, but not that reporters were being imprisoned — except of course in the sort of socialist hellholes America will emulate if Obama is able to inflict Change.

Ambitious in her moonbattery, Jong claims she has "taken the place of Susan Sontag" — the utterly unhinged liberal elitist who proclaimed that "the white race is the cancer of human history." No doubt Sontag would be a big Obama supporter too. Here's how she reacted to 9/11:

Where is the acknowledgment that this was not a "cowardly" attack on "civilization" or "liberty" or "humanity" or "the free world" but an attack on the world's self-proclaimed superpower, undertaken as a consequence of specific American alliances and actions?

Jong's reaction was nearly as progressive:

I have always had fantasies of New York felled by nuclear bombs, flooded by rising sea level, toppled by meteors if not by terrorists. I always knew our grandeur might well be fleeting. […] I have always been able to imagine a crater where New York City used to be. Now everyone else can imagine it too.

There's no need to imagine a crater where our culture used to be, thanks to our intelligentsia being dominated by depraved dopes like Erica Jong and her bevy of boobs.

Profiles in Countermoonbattery: Joe Perry

It's gratifying to see so many of the great rockers I loved back in the 70s emerge as countermoonbats. The latest is Aerosmith lead guitarist Joe Perry:

We pretty much stay out of it, but seeing so many people come out for Obama, I just felt like, "What the hell, I might as well raise my hand for this side." … I've been a hardcore Republican my whole life. My mother and father drilled into me from the very start that if you work hard and be positive, you'll get what you're working for. I guess I'm living proof of that.

Well said. Perry's high-class countermoonbat company includes Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent, and Gene Simmons.

A Referendum on America

Next week's election is more than a choice between a left-wing Democrat and a centrist Republican. It's a referendum on whether this will continue to be America, the Last Best Hope, or Change into just another country.

You don't need to be particularly conservative to see this. From the moderate Dr. Slogan's Prescriptions:

How about close relationships with people involved in international terror? Or laser sharp focus on indoctrinating children? Or a laundry list of every modern-day tyrant openly expressing support? Or persistent suppression of free speech? Or going for twenty years (and bringing children) into a church that openly promotes hate of white people, just as [it] openly supports Hamas and condemns our country on regular basis? Or campaigning for a radical with Islamic ties who threw a stable country into a bloody mess? Or close ties with people who led an organization that unapologetically bombed the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon and a police station and who were on the FBI Ten Most Wanted List? Or vote fraud of monstrous proportions? Or accepting a flow of donations from unidentified foreign sources?
[…T]his election is no longer about choosing between Republicans and Democrats. It's about choosing between our democratic system as we know it and a totally different state. In that state — which Sen. Obama and people behind him have been working hard to create, free speech will be not so free. In that state, tolerance will not be so tolerant. And in that state many things you've been taking for granted will slowly but steadily cease to exist.

America as we know it could cease to exist, given the help Obama can expect from a radicalized, Dem-controlled Congress. But on the bright side, second-rate countries won't resent us anymore.

The Left-Right Spectrum and the Big Lie Tactic

One of the most striking examples of the Big Lie tactic is the Left's ability to pass off fascism and Nazism as phenomena of the Right.

Mussolini, the father of fascism, came from a socialist background, and was inspired by Democrat Woodrow Wilson, who has been called the world's first modern dictator. The term "fascist" comes from the Italian word for bundle, fascio — the idea being that alone we're just weak little twigs, but bundled together by an all-powerful state, we become strong through collectivism.

The German version of fascism was even more overtly socialist. Nazi is short for Nationalsozialist, i.e., National Socialist. To quote the extremely progressive Adolf Hitler:

We are socialists, we are enemies of today's capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions.

The only significant right-wing aspect of fascists and Nazis was their appeal to patriotic sentiment. Communists differed only in being less nationalistic, and even more extreme in their opposition to the fundamental human right to own property. Even communists, however, have exploited patriotism. World War II was known in the Soviet Union as the Great Patriotic War.

No one would lump conservatives in with communists. So it is remarkable that liberals — who resemble fascists in their reverence for the State, and Nazis in their obsession with race and enthusiasm for abortion — have been able to set up a false spectrum with communists on the left end and Nazis/fascists on the right end, just past conservatives. In actuality, communists are just past Nazis and fascists on the left end; America's Founding Fathers are on the right end.

On a tip from Artfldgr, here's some art that drives home the point:

hitler_stalin.jpg

soviet_nazi_posters.jpg

Despite the similarity between communism and fascism/Nazism, progressives want to disassociate themselves from the latter and hang it around conservatives' necks because WWII conditioned us to perceive fascists as enemies at a visceral level — although communism is, if possible, even more hostile to American principles. The Holocaust has nothing to do with it; progressives shrug off the even vaster genocidal horrors inflicted by Hitler's ideological cousins Stalin and Mao.

Liberals' beloved moral equivalence comes into play. Pointing out that Democrat policy, taken to its natural conclusion, leads inevitably toward communism — as Obama has been making so obvious — can be countered with the false argument that conservative principles would similarly lead to an American version of the Third Reich. Once again we are told that what they're doing is okay because other people are potentially just as bad.

But Americans have already taken conservative principles to the extreme by founding the country in the first place. America as originally established is what conservatives are trying to conserve.

The Left believes in collectivism and subservience to the state. The Right believes in the sanctity and liberty of the individual. That progressives have used their dominance of the media and education to spin fascism as a right-wing phenomenon is a reminder that we need to question everything they've told us.

Barney Frank Redefines Chutzpah

Barney Frank is the personification of Democrat degeneracy and corruption. One of his homosexual lovers ran a prostitution service out of Frank's own home. After 9/11, we learned that our national security had been weakened by Frank's campaign to make it easier for homosexuals with AIDS to enter the country. His rhetoric is shamelessly over the top; after Katrina, he accused President Bush of "ethnic cleansing." He has promised to cut off funding to our troops fighting terrorists abroad. Among his worse transgressions: of all the bumbling, unscrupulous fools in Washington who helped bring about the Freddie Mac/Fannie Mae meltdown, Frank is arguably the most to blame.

As Chairman of the Financial Services Committee, Frank has been primarily responsible for blocking attempts to rein in these irresponsible, government-sponsored monstrosities, in return for generous campaign contributions (although Frank personally received less than half as much as Barack Obama). To say Frank has been in bed with the reprobates who instigated our current economic crisis would be putting it literally; another one of his homosexual "partners" was a Fannie Mae executive:

Now that Fannie Mae is at the epicenter of a financial meltdown that threatens the U.S. economy, some are raising new questions about Frank's relationship with Herb Moses, who was Fannie’s assistant director for product initiatives. Moses worked at the government-sponsored enterprise from 1991 to 1998, while Frank was on the House Banking Committee, which had jurisdiction over Fannie.

Arrogant chutzpah has been very good to Barney Frank, so there's no reason for him to abandon it now. Here he is blaming Republicans for the mess he made, and inviting voters to put him back in charge of the henhouse, before even stopping to wipe the bloody feathers from his snout.

The remark about being on TV without interruption is apparently a reference to Bill O'Reilly tearing into this sack of trash over his prominent role in derailing our economy.

Appallingly, a combination of ignorance and depravity among Frank's Taxachusetts constituents will probably get him reelected.

HuffPo Moonbat Pokes 222 Holes in Lesbian Lover

Maybe we ought to elect Barack Obama after all. If we don't turn the country over to moonbats, they might get mad — and as Carol Burger demonstrates, progressives can get pretty scary when they're angry.

A Nutroots Obamunist who has been covering the election for the Huffington Post, Burger was "disgusted with the U.S." and considered moving to Panama or Mexico. She recently blew her top at a former lesbian lover and stabbed her 222 times with a Phillips-head screwdriver.

Carol and her victim Jessica Kalish were "married" and shared a house, despite having broken up years previously — just another happy liberal variation on the boring old tradition family. She dumped the body and cleaned up the murder scene in an attempt to hide the crime, but soon blew her brains out, leaving Obama with one less vote in swing state Florida.

Obama Compares America to Nazi Germany

Barack Obama has further established his credentials as a truly unhinged moonbat radical by comparing America to Nazi Germany. LGF quotes from The One's ruminations on the Supreme Court, which he has chastised for not being sufficiently radical on the subject of "spreading the wealth around":

… just to take a, sort of a realist perspective … there's a lot of change going on outside of the Court, um, that, that judges essentially have to take judicial notice of. I mean you've got World War II, you've got uh, uh, uh, the doctrines of Nazism, that, that we are fighting against, that start looking uncomfortably similar to what we have going on, back here at home.

Ironically, Nazism was a form of socialism, according to which all of society was oriented toward an all-powerful, race-obsessed state. This doesn't sound much like America, but it will if Obama is able to inflict Change.

Dem Politician Stuffs Bribes Into Bra

If Obama wins and the Dems make big gains in the House and Senate as expected, America will in effect be a one-party country. For insight into what this would mean, refer to the one-party state Massachusetts, which has produced such horrors as Chappaquiddick Ted Kennedy, Hanoi John Kerry, and Michael Dukaka — not to mention Dianne Wilkerson:

Democratic state Sen. Dianne Wilkerson faces 40 years in prison after federal prosecutors outlined accusations that she accepted [$23,500 in] bribes over an 18-month period in a money-for-legislative influence sting operation, prosecutors said. […] Photographs released by U.S. Attorney Michael Sullivan showed Wilkerson stuffing 10 $100 bills into her bra at No. 9 Park restaurant last June. […] Wilkerson — the state's only black state senator — is a convicted tax cheat and a campaign finance scofflaw who has a long litany of legal problems that has marred her 15-year record as a lawmaker.

Good thing the Obama campaign uses prepaid credit cards to collect illicit funds. Imagine the size of the bra it would need if it employed Wilkerson's technique:

First London Snow in October Since 1934

If the Obama regime wants to exploit the global warming hoax to facilitate the imposition of socialism, it may have to censor weather reports. London was just hit with snow in October for the first time in 74 years:

Just two days after the end of British Summertime, the first snowfall of the year saw a lorry driver killed when his vehicle collided with another lorry on the M40 in Buckinghamshire.
Tonnes of lard being carried in one of the lorries was left strewn over all six lanes of the motorway causing long delays.
Thousands of homeowners were today without power after high voltage cables were brought down by the night's snowfall.
Clusters of homes in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire were affected and energy provider EDF said it would work throughout the day to reconnect supplies.
Even London was hit by a light dusting last night — the first time the capital has seen snow in October since 1934.

It looks like the polar bears will be safe after all.

Judge Brushes Off Concerns Over Obama's Eligibility to Be President

The mainstream media isn't the only branch of the liberal establishment willing to sacrifice its credibility to get the Moonbat Messiah into the White House. Lawyer Philip Berg has been complaining that Obama isn't even eligible to run for President per the Constitution, since he is not a natural-born citizen. But a Clinton-appointed federal judge has ruled that the Constitution doesn't matter:

Judge R. Barclay Surrick dismissed Berg's case on Friday on the grounds that he, as well as all American voters, have no standing to bring charges against Sen. Obama, saying that the harm caused by Obama's alleged ineligibility is "too vague and its effects too attenuated" to be considered "an injury in fact."

It's still unclear whether Obama was born in Hawaii or in Kenya as his African relatives attest. But this is clear enough: the injury in fact to this whole country will be anything but attenuated if Obamunists are able to dismiss the Constitution as irrelevant when it gets in their way.

Obama Campaign Gobbles Up Illicit Donations via Prepaid Credit Cards

Without even having won the election, the Obama Administration is already notable for its corruption. The latest revelation:

Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign is allowing donors to use largely untraceable prepaid credit cards that could potentially be used to evade limits on how much an individual is legally allowed to give or to mask a contributor's identity, campaign officials confirmed.
Faced with a huge influx of donations over the Internet, the campaign has also chosen not to use basic security measures to prevent potentially illegal or anonymous contributions from flowing into its accounts, aides acknowledged. […]
The problem with [prepaid credit] cards, campaign finance lawyers said, is that they make it impossible to tell whether foreign nationals, donors who have exceeded the limits, government contractors or others who are barred from giving to a federal campaign are making contributions.
"They have opened the floodgates to all this money coming in," said Sean Cairncross, chief counsel to the Republican National Committee. "I think they've made the determination that whatever money they have to refund on the back end doesn't outweigh the benefit of taking all this money upfront."

I'm sure Obama won't mind refunding the illegal funds he gets nailed on, once he's in the White House. At that point, he'll be vacuuming money out of our bank accounts, instead of from foreigners and George Soros.

This helps explain why Democrats more than Republicans favored McCain's atrocious campaign finance reform. Republicans have the disadvantage of having to follow the rules, if only because the media will tear them to pieces if they don't. Meanwhile, Mary T. Biskup, a retired insurance manager from Manchester, Missouri, donated $174,800 to the Obama campaign, despite being limited to $2,300 for the general election.

If this is how the Obama campaign is run, imagine how Obamunists would run the country.

The Stock Market as a Window on the Future

Despite the big upswing yesterday, the stock market has been a roller coaster trending steeply downward. There's more to it than the subprime crisis, as George Newman explains in today's WSJ:

The valuation of an individual stock reflects the collective expectation of investors about a company's future profits, dividends and appreciation, and the same is true of the market as a whole. These profits, in turn, are greatly influenced by government policy on taxes, spending, subsidies, environmental and other regulations, labor laws, and the corporate legal climate. Investors have heard enough from both candidates in the last month or two to conclude that prospects for a flourishing, competitive, growing and reasonably free economy in a McCain administration are bad, and in an Obama administration far worse. (In fact, the market's bearish behavior over the last couple of months pretty closely tracks Barack Obama's gains.)
If you don't believe me, please answer a few questions:
• Have you thought of what a gradual doubling (and indexation) of the minimum wage, sailing through a veto-proof and filibuster-proof Congress, would do to inflation, unemployment and corporate profits? The market now has.
• Have you thought of how easily a Labor Department headed by a militant union boss would push through a "Transparency in Labor Relations" law that does away with secret ballots in strike votes, and what this would do to industrial peace? The market now has.
• Have you thought of how a Treasury Secretary George Soros would engineer the double taxation of the multinationals' world-wide profits, and what this would mean for investors (to say nothing of full-scale industrial flight from the U.S.)? The market now has.
• Have you thought of how an Attorney General Charles J. Ogletree would champion a trillion-dollar reparations-for-slavery project (whittled down, to be fair, to a mere $800-billion, over-10-years compromise), and what this would do to the economy? The market now has.
• Have you thought of what the virtual outlawing of arbitration — exposing all industries to the fate of asbestos producers — would do to corporate liability and legal bills? The market now has.
• Have you thought of how a Health and Human Services Secretary Hillary Clinton would fix drug prices (generously allowing 10% over the cost of raw materials), and what this would do to the financial health of the pharmaceutical industry (not to mention the nondiscovery of lifesaving drugs)? The market now has.
• Have you thought of a Secretary of the newly established Department of Equal Opportunity for Women mandating "comparable worth" pay practices for every company doing any business with government at any level — where any residual gap between the average pay of men and women is an eo ipso violation? Have you thought about what this would do to administrative and legal costs, hiring practices, productivity and wage bills? The market now has.
• Have you thought of what confiscatory "windfall profits" taxes on oil companies would do to exploration, supply and prices? The market now has.
• Have you thought of how the nationalization of health insurance, the mandated coverage of ever more — and more exotic — risks, the forced reimbursement for excluded events, and the diminished freedom to match premium to risk would affect the insurance industry? The market now has.
• Have you thought of Energy Czar Al Gore's five million new green jobs — high-paying, unionized and subsidized — to replace, at five times the cost, what we are now producing without those five million workers, and what this will do to our productivity, deficit and competitiveness? The market now has.
I could go on, but you get the point.

That point being, the Change Obamunists bleat about boils down to changing the wealthiest country in the history of the world to a Third World socialist hellhole. The market doesn't seem to like the idea.

The market is forward looking. If it is unhappy with a president, it does not wait almost eight years before the numbers reflect it. If it really anticipated good times under Mr. Obama, the market would have gained 40% in anticipation of the transition. By losing that much, it seems to be saying the opposite.

But there is still hope that rather than disaster under Obama, we'll get damage control under McCain — which may explain the jump yesterday.

The silver lining in all this is that the market has already "discounted" an Obama win, so if that happens you won't wake up on Nov. 5 to find your remaining savings down the drain. If the unexpected happens, you may be in for a pleasant surprise.

By predicting an Obama win, the market has already suffered much of the damage of putting an immature leftist in charge of the government, as if that devastating tragedy had already occurred. As the polls tighten up, the market may be realizing, along with voters, that the catastrophe can still be averted.

Los Angeles Times Suppresses Video of Obama Praising Rashid Khalidi

The Los Angeles Times refuses to release video of a guy who may be elected President in a few days praising Rashid Khalidi, former official mouthpiece of the terrorist PLO.

Among those who don't rely on the MSM, it's already known that Khalidi and Obama have long been good friends, and that Obama has funneled money in his direction. However, making this video public would let a wider group know who and what they might be voting for Tuesday, so La Times apparently considers it better left unseen.

Khalidi directed the official Palestinian press agency WAFA during the heyday of PLO terrorism. If possible, he has become even more radicalized: now he teaches on the Middle East faculty at Columbia, which makes Mahmoud Ahmadinejad look like Bebe Netanyahu. Like other radicals, he is fond of accusing Israel of running an "apartheid system." This should give Jews a hint as to where our foreign policy would go under President Obamination.

On the tape, Obama refers to the intimate dinners he had with Khalidi and his wife Mona, as the terrorist propagandist was leaving Chicago for Columbia:

It's for that reason that I'm hoping that, for many years to come, we continue that conversation — a conversation that is necessary not just around Mona and Rashid's dinner table … [but around] this entire world.

Homegrown terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn — who launched Obama's political career from their home — were reportedly in attendance — another reason for La Times to sit on the tape.

By the way, La Times has officially endorsed Obama for President. No word on whether it favors Khalidi or Osama bin Laden for Secretary of State.

McCain spokesman Michael Goldfarb comments:

A major news organization is intentionally suppressing information that could provide a clearer link between Barack Obama and Rashid Khalidi. … The election is one week away, and it's unfortunate that the press so obviously favors Barack Obama that this campaign must publicly request that the Los Angeles Times do its job — make information public.

La Times says it won't release the video because it promised the source it wouldn't. Keeping promises is noble, but it would be more noble still not to make promises that conflict with professional obligations. Imagine any MSM outlet agreeing to suppress video of McCain toasting Timothy McVeigh.

Obama Is Already Defining "Rich" Downward

Obamanomics is based on the morally repugnant class warfare principle of setting aside a group of people called "the rich," who are to be pillaged and exploited for the sake of everyone else. Under Stalin, to qualify as rich you only needed to own more than one samovar (a device for brewing tea found in most Russian homes); people were actually shot if government inspectors found a second samovar in the home of a "kulak" ("rich peasant").

Obviously imposing excessive taxation on "the rich," however they are defined, will cripple the economy as a whole, making everyone more miserable. It isn't the poor who invest and employ — it is the demonized rich.

But before we even reach that point, there is the problem that the grandiose schemes of egomaniacal socialist dictators tend to cost more than even the rich can pay. This is why the definition of "rich" slides downward until you find yourself dragged off by thugs over a samovar.

Obama has promised that he will only loot families that make more than $250,000 per year, showering their money down upon the rest of us by offering "tax cuts" even to people who don't pay any federal taxes. But what's this? The Moonbat Messiah hasn't even been elected and already the mark has been moved down to $200,000:

Meanwhile, Plugs Biden has lowered the mark to $150,000.

Once in office, Obama bin Biden would inevitably continue to adjust the definition of rich until it covers anyone gainfully employed. Those who actually think their tax burden would be reduced under these socialists are morbidly gullible — although I don't doubt that some who don't even pay taxes will be getting tax credit handouts at the expense of a dwindling class of people who work for a living.

Media's Obamunist Bias Visible From Russia

The liberal establishment's control of the media in this country has resulted in a pro-Obama bias so obvious, you can see it from Russia:

Russia's Central Elections Committee has also assigned its Centre for the Study of Election Technology to review the U. S. election campaign.
A preliminary report prepared by the group, after studying U. S. media coverage on the NBC, CBS and ABC television networks since September, has concluded Barack Obama, the Democratic presidential candidate, has a "hidden advantage."
A preliminary report obtained by the Russian daily online newspaper Kommersant concludes the U. S. television networks devoted more time to Republican candidate John McCain, but "the material that makes up that time difference can be assessed as negative."
The Russian study also said Sarah Palin, the Republican vice-presidential pick, has been subjected to more criticism than her Democratic counterpart, Senator Joe Biden.
It adds that when the presidential candidates' platforms are described, Mr. Obama's is described last, to make it look better, and when platforms are compared, "Obama's is presented [as] preferable."

The observations appear to be in response to Western criticism of Russia's pro-Kremlin media bias. Unless our own media wants to set aside its Obamunist agenda long enough to do its job ethically and professionally, we are admittedly in a poor position to criticize Putin's toadies in the Russian press.

Obamunists Continue to Target Small Children

Like other totalitarian movements, Obamunism obsessively targets children. If you thought NBC Universal head honcho Jeff Zucker's Village of the Obamatrons video was creepy, check out the Kids for Obama page on the Moonbat Messiah's own website:

The one thing most grandparents have in common is that they have the most wonderful grandchildren in the world — so clever, so handsome, so pretty, ever so precious. Even if you are still unsure of your path in life, and even if your parents and friends occasionally wonder about you, your grandma and grandpa love you and have faith in you.
That is your weapon! "Precious" needs to get on the phone and say, "Grandpa, Grandma, I am asking you to vote for Barack Obama. This is really important to me. It's about my future. It's about the world I will be living in. It's about the world I want for my future children. (They will love that one!) Please! Do it for me!"

Among the lessons Obama seems to have learned from his mentor Bill Ayers, who abandoned terrorism to join the education establishment: warp their minds while they are still malleable. Education is already more about left-wing indoctrination than the three R's. Imagine Obama, Ayers, et al. in charge of our schools.

Another Biden Interview Goes Off Script

When journalists interview Obama bin Biden, they're supposed to take a softball, set it on a tee, and watch approvingly as the candidate swats at it with a tennis racket. But at least one interview with WFTV in Orlando was canceled after Barbara West went off the reservation and asked Plugs Biden real questions. Also in the doghouse is CBS3 in Philadelphia:

The saddest part: station execs were so "embarrassed" to have embarrassed Plugs that they withheld the interview from their website. According to Breitbart, CBS3 has joined WFTV on a list of stations banned for disobedience by the Moonbat Messiah campaign, but maybe the station will be forgiven if it grovels sufficiently and promises never to practice real journalism again.

What Moonbats Will Do If McCain Wins

One reason to put a clothespin on your nose and vote for John McCain is the reaction moonbats will have if their dime store Marxist messiah is defeated. Already the folks at Huffington Post are planning their tantrums. Reader Todd D collected some comments:

"And if McCain wins I will also by a pound of the finest kush I can find and I will smoke it as fast as I can in between crying fits." - ohiodem250
"If McCain and co. win I will (angrily) get into my car and drive from VT to DC to protest. After I return home I'll grieve and be depressed--and still be pissed. I may need some anti-depressants (I'm not kidding!)." - LeeLee
"if they "win" then we take to the streets." - Swerinjer2
"If the other side wins, i'm going back home (europe)" - jymfrancais
"If McCain/Palin manage to steal this election, how much you want to bet I lose my job, again. Coincidence? I don't think so. I'll be homeless and on the street and they will probably blame me for my situation. " - gjoh
"Four more years of ignoring our human resource, enabling corporate governance, and you will all be making your own clothes, growing your own food, and fighting for air and water. I will be on the other side of the planet." - windwashed
"Move to Canada.. I already have" - wiredash
"If McCain wins, I'll serioiusly consider requesting a job assignment outside of the United States. Perhaps I will learn that the grass is green on the other side, even if it is stained with the GOP red blood." - SunFresh
"If they win…I see a recap of last time. Me,standing in front of my television crying. You know, bush has made me cry and ask "why" twice." - dietcokehead98

Remember the postelection selection trauma cases after W was reelected? It would be delicious to watch them snivel, pout, and stamp their feet once again. Unfortunately their promises to leave the country they so hate are rarely fulfilled.

Government Data Accessed in Campaign to Smear Joe the Plumber

Here's another foretaste of life in Obama Nation. Joe the Plumber challenged The One's Marxist economic plans and came to symbolize the normal hard-working Americans who would be crushed so that Obama can "spread the wealth around." As punishment, the Obamedia has crawled over Joe Wurzelbacher's life like a plague of cockroaches, waggling its antennae for any information that might discredit him or besmirch his character. Obama hasn't even been elected, but already help appears to be coming from government sources:

Information on Wurzelbacher was accessed by accounts assigned to the office of Ohio Attorney General Nancy H. Rogers, the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency and the Toledo Police Department.
It has not been determined who checked on Wurzelbacher, or why. Direct access to driver's license and vehicle registration information from BMV computers is restricted to legitimate law enforcement and government business.

Observes Paul Lindsay of the McCain campaign:

It's outrageous to see how quickly Barack Obama's allies would abuse government power in an attempt to smear a private citizen who dared to ask a legitimate question.

Given that lawyers are a core constituency of the Democrat Party, character assassination tactics aren't terribly surprising. But Obama's "by any means necessary" ideological background makes the potential for government abuse alarming. Already we've seen official truth squads intimidating citizens into keeping their mouths shut if they have nothing adulatory to say about the Moonbat Messiah, and bureauweenies have attempted to drive Wurzelbacher out of business. Shrillary's infamous misuse of FBI files will look like a minor indiscretion compared to what we could expect from an Obama regime.

Obama on Using the Supreme Court to Impose Socialism

When The One rambles about Change, those who haven't drunk the Kool-Aid wonder, What kind of change? The answer: Redistributive Change, the kind that strangles economic growth in its crib by letting everyone know that any wealth they create will be confiscated by the government on behalf those who don't deserve it.

Here's Obama proclaiming that the radical Warren Court wasn't radical enough, because it didn't use the power of the Supreme Court to advance the civil rights movement by redistributing wealth — i.e., by imposing race-based socialism.

If this racist Marxist becomes president, it will be the most extreme challenge this country has faced since the Civil War.

Pundit Calls for Denying Caucasians the Right to Vote

Passing off Barack Obama as a legitimate presidential candidate despite his radical ideology, vile associates, and lack of qualifications has been a big job for the media. Jonathan Valania at the Philadelphia Enquirer gives some insight into the mentality that keeps journalists motivated for this Herculean task in a piece entitled "White People Shouldn't Be Allowed to Vote."

He comes up with three reasons: 1) White people voted for W, whom Valania doesn't like. 2) He doesn't like Sarah Palin either, who is also white, as are many of her supporters. 3) Irresponsible left-wing Democrats like Ed Rendell and John Murtha have been screeching that whites won't vote for a black supremacist like Obama because they're racists.

Valania agrees that if we don't want to turn over the country to someone who pretty obviously does not mean it well, and who has made no secret of his intentions to coercively redistribute wealth along racial lines, we must be racists. Blacks aren't racists, since virtually all of them support Obama. The solution is clear: deny whites the right to vote, and we can transcend racism.

This self-hating Caucasian idiot is afforded a soapbox at a major metropolitan daily because his views are mainstream from the point of view of the allegedly mainstream media.

West Hollywood Hangs Sarah Palin in Effigy

The homosexual community that festers in West Hollywood has expressed its class and its political sophistication in a single gesture by hanging Sarah Palin in effigy:

The excuse is that anything goes, with the Halloween Carnival coming soon. Somehow I doubt we'll be seeing BHO hanged if effigy in West Hollyweird, any more than we'll be seeing FBI and Secret Service investigations, like the ones that resulted when someone tied a cardboard effigy of The One to a tree at George Fox University last month.

But as the effigy's creator Chad Michael Morrisette lisps:

The image of a hanged black man is a lot more intense than the image of a hanged white woman — for our country — in the history of our country.

That must be because no women were ever hanged in this country. Or maybe it's because, thanks to Saracuda, women no longer qualify as sacred victims whose alleged helplessness can be exploited to advance leftist politics.

Democrat Bigwig Has "Non-Filer Syndrome"

Just because Democrats love raising taxes doesn't mean they love paying them. From New York:

Gov. Paterson's chief of staff now says he owed nearly $300,000 in back taxes, $100,000 more than was previously known — and his lawyer blamed the problem on "non-filer syndrome."
Charles O'Byrne's attorney, Richard Kestenbaum, mentioned the virtually unheard-of ailment at a briefing for reporters intended to quell the firestorm surrounding O'Byrne's failure to file income-tax returns from 2001 to 2005.
O'Byrne, 49, a former Jesuit priest with close ties to the Kennedy family, has already blamed his neglect to file — first reported by The Post — on clinical depression.

Sometimes I get the blues when I think of the government expropriating the money I earn and spending most of it to build socialism at the expense of everything America is supposed to stand for. I must have non-filer syndrome too. But I'm not a Democrat Governor's Chief of Staff, so no one is likely to care.

There hasn't been a lot of good news this election season, but we do have this: the corrupt and treasonous moonbat John Murtha may finally be pried out of Congress after 34 years. Challenger William Russell has nearly caught Abscam Jack in the polls:

Democratic Rep. John Murtha leads retired Army Lt. Col. William Russell by a little more than 4 percentage points, within the Susquehanna Poll's 4.9-point margin of error.

It hasn't helped Murtha that he recently called his own constituents racists for not drinking Obama's Kool-Aid, though he did later recant by saying they're not racists, just rednecks. Also working against him is the lawsuit filed by one of the Marines he maliciously accused of war crimes.

Obama's Messianic Marxism

Anyone familiar with the history of communism knows enough to be terrified by utopian visions. Equally frightening is the staggering breadth of the Moonbat Messiah's ego. Not long ago, Obama told Sunday worshipers in Greenville, South Carolina that they don't have to wait for any Second Coming:

I am confident that we can create a Kingdom right here on Earth.

Lenin, Mao, Pol Pot, et al. had ambitions on a similar scale, although I don't recall them comparing themselves to God. For the messianic aspect, you normally have to leave politics for cults like Heaven's Gate.

Swing State Virginia Tosses Military Ballots, Allows Nonresidents to Vote

This year's election mischief is not limited to the fraud perpetrated by Obama's old ACORN friends. Swing state Virginia has been finding lame excuses to toss out military ballots, even as it allows nonresident college students to vote there.

The military votes are getting tossed in plush Fairfax County, where supervisor Gerry Connolly is running for Congress as a liberal Democrat. I wonder why he would want to disenfranchise our troops.

As if to replace the military voters who will not be allowed a say in the election, bureaucrats have visited Fairfax County jail to encourage criminals to vote.

Academic Termites Have Set the Stage for Obama

America doesn't just wake up one day on the verge of electing a dangerous radical like Barack Obama, any more than a sound house suddenly collapses from termites. The insects need to have been eating away in the darkness for some time, gradually weakening the structure — as they have been doing to our country. Academia's acceptance of Obama's mentor Bill Ayers gives an indication of how deep the damage goes.

No one — least of all Ayers — denies he is a communist, in the mold of the totalitarian monsters who killed 100 million of their own people in the past century. In their own manifesto Prairie Fire, Ayers and friends boast of the following crimes:

weather-underground-crimes.jpg

The objective was clear: to overthrow the American government and replace it with a communist regime. Ayers's ideology had not changed as he groomed Barack Obama for political office.

If they are able to bring about a Soviet-style regime, they will have no problem recruiting apparatchiks from among Ayers's academic colleagues, many of whom have recently signed a petition in support of this sociopathic communist terrorist.

Unsurprisingly, the petition was signed by Obama's frequent dinner companion, Rashid Khalidi, who used to direct the PLO's press agency, but now teaches Anti-Zionist Studies at moonbat-infested Columbia. Another predictable signatory is Ward Churchill, who openly sided with the 9/11 terrorists, calling those they murdered at the World Trade Center "little Eichmanns." But thousands of others have signed.

The petition dismisses Ayers's terrorist acts as mere "history." George Leef, director of research for the John William Pope Center for Higher Education Policy in Raleigh, gives the signatories the benefit of the doubt, assuming them to be useful idiots:

I don't think they know much about this. Most of them at least have not looked into exactly what it is that Ayers was proposing. They're signing on to this because they think it will help their preferred candidate [Obama], which doesn't speak very well of their intellectual integrity. History should be important to teachers.

But their lack of intellectual integrity is the least of their flaws. Few if any of the signatories can be unaware of the pure evil Ayers personifies. Their first priority as educators has been to advance it.

Without academia systematically gnawing away at America's belief in itself for decades, programming the journalists who feed us our daily dose of leftist propaganda, the preposterous Obama candidacy never would have left the ground.

Dem Senator Admits Plans to Silence Conservative Radio

Apparently forgetting that the election isn't over yet, Senator Jeff Bingaman (D-NM) has admitted to Democrat plans to shut down talk radio once they have the political leverage.

Television and print media are overwhelmingly — often cartoonishly — liberal. But the conservative opposition has carved out a home on talk radio, where Rush and Hannity draw huge audiences while left-wing Air America repeatedly falls on its face. The Democrat solution is to kill the medium with a strangulation by regulation strategy, imposing the Orwellian "Fairness Doctrine," which would require every opinion to be counterbalanced by an equal and opposite opinion. In practical terms this is not feasible — as they well know. Radio stations will be forced to talk about gardening or switch to music.

Needless to say, this sort of political censorship is not even remotely consistent with the most fundamental principles of this country. That's why liberals feel we need Change.

It's more than an election coming up in two weeks. It's a referendum on whether this will continue to be America. The Left may already have enough control of the media to get the results it's after.

Via the Radio Equalizer, here's Bingaman announcing the Dems' totalitarian plans on Albuquerque's KKOB on Tuesday:

As any American should be, KKOB's Jim Villanucci was alarmed by the interview:

I guess the shocking part was to have a senator sitting across the table from me, basically threatening my job and my show on my show — (it) was kind of stunning.

Other Dems who favor "Hush Rush" legislation include House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD).

Don't worry, Keith Olbermann — the Unfairness Doctrine will never be employed against the Left. This relic of an earlier age would serve no other purpose than to use the liberal saturation of the bureaucracy to silence opposition.

Next in the liberal crosshairs will be the Internet, which they will regulate into submission under the guise of "Net Neutrality." Before long non-socialist communication will be reduced to surreptitiously passing along xeroxed copies of Atlas Shrugged, The Gulag Archipelago, and the US Constitution.

On tips from V the K and Wiggins.

American Genocide

Communists killed over 100 million of their own people in the course of the 20th Century (as horrifyingly documented here). But even though we have communists here in the USA, we'll never have genocide, because our democratic safeguards would stop evil people from getting that much power, right?

Via Stop the ACLU, here's video of Larry Grathwol, who joined the Weather Underground as a undercover law enforcement agent:

I brought up the subject of what's going to happen after we take over the government. We become responsible then for administrating 250 million people … and there was no answers. No one had given any thought to economics. How are you going to clothe and feed these people? The only thing that I could get was that they expected that the Cubans, and the North Vietnamese and the Chinese and the Russians would all want to occupy different portions of the United States. They also believed that their immediate responsibility would be to protect against what they called the counter-revolution. They felt that this counter-revolution could best be guarded against by creating and establishing re-education centers in the Southwest, where we would take all of the people who needed to be re-educated into the new way of thinking and teach them how things were going to be. I asked, well what is going to happen to those people that we can't re-educate that are die-hard capitalists? The reply was that they would have to be eliminated. When I pursued this further they estimated that they would have to eliminate 25 million people in these re-education centers. When I say eliminate, I mean kill … 25 million people.
I want you to imagine sitting in a room with 25 people, most of which have graduate degrees from Columbia and other well-known educational centers, and hear them figuring out the logistics for the elimination of 25 million people. And they were dead serious.

The Weather Underground was headed by Bill Ayers, who went on to groom Barack Obama for office, even launching BHO's political career from the home he shares with fellow communist terrorist Bernardine Dohrn.

Nothing is so awful that it couldn't happen if the cesspool that produced Barack Obama takes over our government.

MSNBC Teaming With Radical Left Groups on Election Coverage

In case anyone mistakes the left-wing activist outfit MSNBC for a news organization, this should help clear things up:

MSNBC has launched a news project with a variety of left-wing special interest groups to boost their Election Day coverage and help viewers experiencing problems at the polls.
One of the groups involved in MSNBC's "Election Protection" project is the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now. ACORN has been involved in rampant voter registration fraud across the nation this election cycle and is actively supporting Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama for president.

On the taxpayers' dime, I might add. Not all of ACORN's funds come from George Soros, the Obama/Ayers Woods Fund, and the Obama campaign; over 40% are expropriated from the public by the bloated, fetid obscenity that passes for our government.

"Our partnership with Election Protection will play a major role in NBC News' 'Making Your Vote Count' coverage," said Phil Alongi, Executive Producer of NBC News' Election Coverage in an Oct. 22 press release.

ACORN isn't the only festering nest of sociopathic radicals MSNBC is calling in to shape their election coverage:

The National Council of La Raza, U.S. Pirg, NAACP, the Human Rights Campaign, the National Gay and Lesbian Law Association, Sierra Club and the Service Employees International Union are among Election Protection's many partners.

Too bad the Manson Family, the Symbionese Liberation Army, and Jim Jones's People's Temple aren't still around. They would fit in nicely with this rogues' gallery of anti-American racists, kooks, communists, and degenerates.
