Trojan horse for Eurofederalism and the EUSSR.

It's nice to see that they can still laugh about it. When Obama is done with us, I'm not sure I'll have it in me to laugh.

Usually the ultimate result of a situation like the one in much of Europe is revolution, though it can take years or decades for that to come about. Revolting against the EU might be more difficult than rebelling against your own government, since it isn't enough for EU subjects (not citizens) to hate the government, they have to channel that hatred in one place - they must hang together, or they will hang separately, to paraphrase Ben Franklin. The only chance you might have is to get your own government to pull out of the EU, or else throw your bums out before taking on the EU itself. Yeesh, what a mess. The best bet, then, is to take a page out of Ireland's book and tell the EU to take a flying leap and shove their "Constitution". The trouble is you have to deal with your own moonbats first before you deal with theirs. With any luck the EU's stifling bureaucracy will give you a fighting chance to get your house and defenses in order before they can scramble theirs (and the UN is no threat, so no worries there).

Wishful thinking on my part, maybe. I fear that what we once knew as western civilization is gone and never to return, save for the last few outposts remaining. The US won't be one for much longer if we don't do something about our moonbat plague soon. England has fallen. France is long gone. Germany, Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Italy are all socialist "paradises". Russia is reverting back to the Soviet Union. Hell, we can write off Massachusetts and California, too. It's so sad to look at the world and realize that all of the progress made during my lifetime, all of the sacrifices and millions of dead in the name of freedom, have all been for nothing, not because we failed but because we succeeded and then gave it away.

And yet I hold out hope for America, not because we are perfect (we aren't), but because we always find a way out. FDR couldn't keep us down (Lord knows he tried). LBJ, Nixon (RINO), and Carter couldn't (Lord knows he tried, too). And while I'm no fan of the aforementioned (though Nixon wasn't all bad), Obama isn't half the man any of the others were. He's a sock puppet on his best day, and will be lucky to last a full term even if he does make it. Once the economy goes completely to hell, even his champions in the media can't ignore it forever.

It will take more than an avowed Marxist and a hard-left Congress to destroy us, for Americans are made of stronger stuff than that. For every weenie in the government telling us everything sucks, and for every leftist idiot in the media telling us America is horrible, unjust, racist, sexist, and evil, there are ten thousand people busily proving them wrong by building a better life for themselves here than they could have anywhere else. For every socialist moonbat in Europe or the Middle East or Africa that tells us we should be ashamed of ourselves, there are ten thousand of us providing them the lifestyle to which they've become accustomed, all while they cheat their people out of everything that can get.

America is quite capable of dealing with this crisis, and I say that regardless of who wins this election, and regardless of which crisis you are talking about. The American government may not be a thing of beauty, but the American people are more than capable of dealing with their bullshit, not to mention cleaning our own house when it is necessary. Try as they might, the "liberal elite" haven't managed to dumb us down, suppress our will, censor our speech, or steal our money, because there are always people willing to stand up and fight for it. Not even BHO can take that away from us.
