Panic Spreads Among the Nutroots
Nutroots kooks are scurrying for safe holes in the baseboards, having realized that the media's campaign to pass off Barack Obama as a credible presidential candidate is doomed to failure. Amusingly, they choose to blame the very media that set the unqualified junior nobody up on his post. In a HuffPo post entitled, "We're Gonna Frickin' Lose this Thing," Hollyweirdo Adam McKay snivels that Republicans have a "house advantage":
So what is this house advantage the Republicans have? It's the press. […]without a real press the corporate and religious Republicans can lie all they want and get away with it.
Never mind that four times more journalists identify themselves as liberal than as conservative.
Equally amusing is the complaint that "the religious right teaches closed mindedness so it's almost impossible to gain new voters from their pool because people who disagree with them are agents of the devil." In contrast, moonbats are known for their open-minded views toward the gap-toothed rubes clinging to their guns and Bibles in flyover country.
The laughter stops when McKay proposes his solution to our insufficiently moonbatty media: "most importantly we should bring up re-regulating the media and who owns it."
Hugo Chavez had the same idea.

On a tip from Todd D.

These idiots are so wrong on so many levels it's astounding. "Regulate" the media? The "media" is a tool of "the religious right"?
Wow. If that's the best they can do, their tank is more vacuously empty than I thought.
I could see blaming "conservatives" or MAYBE Fox News, but "the media"?
In any case, it's already starting. Obama can not lose because the people choose otherwise. OH NO. He will lose because of Karl Rove or The White Brotherhood or a Media Plot or Christian Conservatives T. Boone Pickins or some other reason.
It's going to get ugly, because the left WILL NOT TOLERATE "THE ONE" LOSING. (Wait 'til they hear Chris Matthews and K. Olbermann were fired today. SEE???? It IS a media plot!!!)
Posted by: matt at September 8, 2008 10:38 AM
Believe it or not (I used to be a barking moonbat myself) the moonbat mentality dictates that if the media were 'fair and balanced' it would translate into speaking only positively about liberal issues and negatively about conservative issues.

Left-wing person doesn't get what they want; solution is to set up government control and coerce others into compliance. Got it.
Posted by: mega at September 8, 2008 10:40 AM
...sorry...there should have been an "or" between Christian Conservatives and T. Boone Pickins! I can't imagine how I could make such a mistake. Maybe Karl Rove is controlling my mind. (He must be...I won't vote for Obama!)

Oh, puh-leaze. Reuters yesterday posted an article attacking the Republican convention as "very partisan." It was a party convention, you dimwits!

In April 2007 [Andy McKay] launched, with Will Ferrell, the user submitted comedy video site Funny or Die. A video on the site, titled "The Landlord" [1] features both him and his young daughter Pearl. Though he has received criticism for having his daughter use profanity, he stated that his daughter does not swear in reality because she is still young.
But don't question his family values.

So, now that their obamessiah is falling from grace, they're going to blame the very same media that propped him up on his false pedestal in the first place? Wow, the liberal mind never ceases to amaze(horrify) me.
Posted by: the QUICK at September 8, 2008 11:00 AM
If you think the media has a conservative bias.
You might be a moonbat.
Posted by: forest at September 8, 2008 11:01 AM
This isn't anything new. How many times have all of us pointed out something from the media that is even slightly anti-leftist to a lib. They all immediately retort that that story is a false right-wing conspiracy plant. In their next breath they will tell you that Trig Palin's father is really an alien from Altair 4 (or any other far out libtard story) and are entirely convinced that it is fact???

some comments on that blog worth noting:
"No freakin' kidding, man! Many of us have been calling out the press for a while during this election season, but your theory of its nonexistence is the most efficient way to frame the issue. As for the real problem, again, Democratics are indeed on the verge of losing their third in a row, one that is their's to lose. My issue is this need to create "a new kind of politics." I understand the desire to stay above the fray, and it's very admirable when the two sides play the same game. The Republicans (read: Rove and his sick Willy-Horton, swift boaters), however, are masterful at taking advantage of the opportunity to exploit the Democratic ticket's insistence on playing nice. As it is, we are left with the most counter-intuitive positions a la Rove: family values = teenage pregnancy or community organizing = slacking/get-a-real-job-type criticism. This posturing may be insane to many of us, but when being above average intelligence = being elitist, we're on the road to another soul-deadening eight years of an even less qualified ticket than Bush/Cheney. When you're in office, you can make the rules, but to get there to begin with, playing nice with these crass manipulators will get you a pat on the head but no White House.
"Sarah Palin needs to be ignored, dismissed, marginallized. You guys are making her important. She's doesn't have broad appeal, she isn't a serious threat, unless you make her one. Let's not get sidetracked here. The same things that got Obama this far will see him to the White House. And for crying out loud stop plastering her pictures all over the place, she's photogenic that appeals to people.
"The neo cons struck again! I just read on Truthout.com that MSNBC just canned Keith Olberman and Chris Mathews. I didn't mind when they they demoted Tucker Carlson. He was a neo-con masquerading as a closet liberal. When they demoted Olberman, I knew the fix was in. He was one of the few news people that used the word 'LIE' to describe so many of the Bush/Cheney adventures.
Mathews loved blathering about minutia of politics and always was rudely cutting off people, but he also told the truth. You are so right that if there is no one to tell the truth, then 'Bomb the Bastards McCain' will be the next President'
"You're right about the press, but someone's sopping up the swill they put out there. Face it: The United States is a country full of shallow, self-involved, TV-addled zombies. There's nothing original about that statement, but it's really all you need to know. Americans are just dumb. They don't care. I'll vote for Obama, but a big part of me wants McCain to win, because I want to watch this once-great country driven into the ground. And they'll do it, too. We had a nice 232-year run, but it's over. I'm just going to buy popcorn (gold and silver bullion) and sit back and enjoy the show. I'm tired of banging my head against the wall trying to wake up a nation full of monkeys. You can have this place--I'll stay in NYC as long as I can, and then I'll head for Canada or Europe. I feel no kinship with 99% of the people who are allegedly my fellow Americans--they can have their god and their strip malls and their subdivisions and their commutes. Have a nice life....
"Hard to win when we don't have a free press or free elections.
"PLEASE EVERYONE! DON'T GIVE UP! WE NEED DESPERATELY TO KEEP FIGHTING! IF WE BECOME DEFEATED NOW, McPALIN WILL STEAL THE ELECTION! THIS IS THE MOST FRIGHTENING ELECTION I'VE SEEN IN 40 YEARS!
"The Press, our longtime friend is killing us. The Press is now infested with pro Republican's. We can't be weird and get away with it now.
"The press has never been the friend of the left. That was always a right wing propaganda claim.
"Sarah Palin terrifies me! This woman could end up being the president in the next few years! I spent many years in Alaska and i know the kind of thinking that goes on there. It is very separatist and elitist. People live there because they don't want to live down here - they cherish independence above all cost. Some of my family members there make frequent statements that the folks in New Orleans were at fault because they should have taken care of themselves. There is little concern for global warming or the environment. Al Gore is a joke. There is a never ending supply of disassociation from the rest of the country. Talk of seceding from the Union has been discussed repeatedly since Statehood. I think for the most part they really have no clue about the issues down here in the lower 48. I'm even more frightened by this pair than by Bush-Cheney. An aged vet with possible PTSD and a woman from another planet! Don't get me wrong -- I love Alaska -- I just think it's really out of step with the rest of the nation.
and this gem... in response to that last one
"Alaska is what America was. An independent place that looked at Europe as a bunch of elitist squabbling snobs who pontificate from their palaces while standing on the throats of anyone who dared think that by their own work and smarts they could change their place in society.
Nothing has changed there either and much of this country has come to resemble them, which is shameful. Everything they do is from a sense of being afraid. Afraid of nature, afraid of hostile cultures or regimes, afraid of people who challange the status quo, afraid of themselves. As much as anything that is why they hate the cowboy sherriff image. Someone who, instead of trying to placate people with evil intent, soundly reeducates them via ass-kicking.
Alaska is a place of the same spirit as was America. They look at the environment as both something beautiful and yet that could be conquered and managed by man, not something to be feared or to place above the needs of man.
We are more important than nature because we CAN have concern for nature. Nature surely has no concern for our interests. We have to make it submit ...even when that means setting some of it aside for later or for appreciation (by the way - when it comes to places with oil under it and because we can get it cleanly, later is now!!).
The truth is Alaska is the original America. We are out of step with ourselves.
Interesting, no?

The fascinating (and ironic) aspect of this is that the Dems there are exhibiting the exact same behavior that causes their electoral (and indeed, in many case, life) problems: they refuse to take responsibilities for their decisions, and instead blame others.
It's not that their candidate is weak and inexperienced, it's the press. Yes, that's it! The press! They're controlled by the right-wing!
It's not that their candidate is far left and has a lot of whiffy associates. It's that Americans are stupid. Yes, that's it!
They fail to consider that they themselves might just have a little teeny weeny dash of responsibility for the outcome of their decisions, and consider how they might mend their ways. But no - of course they're right - it's everyone else who's wrong.
Others are straight-up in denial, with, e.g., the cell phone/landline effect on polling. So it's the pollsters fault! Sure, the cell phone thing is plausible, but they don't think whether perhaps their candidate is less than perfect, or has been out-generaled, or hyped for too long.
In all cases, however, it is clear that the only person/group who is blameless is...them. It's always someone else's fault, a most disagreeable character flaw.
It's not over yet, but I suspect that desperation will drive Obama and (especially) his acolytes to become much nastier, especially toward Palin, thereby alienating swing voters.

I am really concerned for the welfare of Gov. Palin and her family now. The foam at the mouth insanity of the left will gel in the next week or so into insane actions. It will become more obvious every day that McCain/Palin is going to win. Taking out McLame doesn't do it. Gov. Palin moves to the top of the ticket with national sympathy on her side. Taking her out causes outrage, but the setup is that a right wing loonietoons from the military does it. I'm sure the lefties have suiciders that would do it. Their backup plan is to kill of some of the family in a very gory and public manner to cause Palin to drop out in grief.
In any scenario, this is brewing into something very, very dangerous and nasty.

Hey Thulsa, great post!
V the K, who was that quote from? I'm thinking Olbermann, but I'd like to know for sure...

Thanks for the kudos! Matt, The quote was one of the comments on that blog from above. ...But it could have EASILY been D'ohlbermann.

Interesting - the Euro-moonbats have descided that just controlling the media isn't enough, they want to control ( called "regulate" in Euro-moonbat language ) all the blogs also, lest we spread disinformation. [ They're still smarting from the fact the Irish told them to f*** off in the Euro constitution referendum - all the blogs fault apparently as they thought they controlled the rest of the media ].
We won't be letting them do that ....
Posted by: Man in a Shed at September 8, 2008 4:06 PM
Jay, while admittedly a lot of what Chuck said sounds a bit extreme, the fact of the matter is that the far left's hatred of Palin has been very rapidly growing and festering, and if McCain wins I honestly don't think it will be very long before some especially deranged lefty (Probably an active member of DU and/ or KOS) goes off the deep end and actually tries something like that.
Posted by: Adam at September 8, 2008 6:21 PM

Sadly, no you won't. You will continue to live in America and bitch incessantly until you die.
I love the way he says that he'll stay in NYC as long as he can, as if he'll be holding out while being hunted in the Warsaw ghetto. What a drama queen.
Posted by: avalon at September 8, 2008 7:02 PM
I'd love to have those folks claim conservative media bias while taking polygraph tests. Do they really think we'd believe that, or are they convinced of it themselves? Liberalism is a strong delusion.
Posted by: Neil at September 8, 2008 7:05 PM
Holy Frijoles Batman! Anyone seen some of the posts at DU since the latest poll numbers came out? ROFLMAO! They're seriously in denial... Spinning themselves every-ol' whichaway to rationalize it: "Dead-cat bounce", "No way he'll maintain it", etc., etc.
This little gem was priceless:
"The Wash Post is owned by the Meyer family which with Kissinger, Mark
Felt, the CIA, Nelson Rockefeller Woodward and Bernstein orchestrated
the Watergate lie because Nixon had plans to make American air waves
more democratically run.
These are only a sliver of the legion lies of the Gallup Organization.
In 1940 George Gallup, always in the pay of Republicans,
forecast on election night a tie between Franklin Roosevelt and Wendell
Wilkie.
On election day, a few hours later, FDR received 27 million votes to Wilkie's 22 million, and in the Electoral College, Roosevelt buried Wilkie 449 to 82. FDR received at least 55% of the vote.
In 1948 George Gallup on election night said that Thomas Dewey was 5
points ahead of Harry Truman. Truman received 24.2 million
votes to Dewey's 21.9
In 2000, Gallup said on Oct 23
Bush 48.2%, Gore 42.7%;
Gallup was part of a conspiracy which included thousands
of thefts, such as the Jacksonville Times Union in Florida
putting out a special edition in the black community, asking
blacks to vote every page of the ballot. Those who trusted
the paper, 20,000 in all, had their votes disqualified while
Katherine Harris under the guise of removing felons from the
polling lists removed many blacks. Armed police set up
roadblocks to discourage black voters.
The neocon 'pollster' game is to discourage the left through lies
1. Gallup and other neocon pollsters poll more Republicans than Democrats
2. Gallup and other neocon pollsters shortchange the young and cellphone users
because it doesn't have access to those numbers
Just as virtually every 'voting machine' (vote manipulation) company in the US
is owned by Republicans, so are the pollsters connected
to neocon media. USA Today has just laid off 1000 workers.
People don't want to read war propaganda.
Democratic candidates who want an accurate picture of
the electorate's views seldom use Gallup."
Really, great fun. Can't wait for November 5th.

And the troofers, Ron Paul, Pat Buchanan, Lew Rockwell and some libertarians have joined the moonbat patrol. It's called the circle of life.
I've seen a few "Funny or Die" vids and they suck! I think McKay did the Paris Hilton rebuttal to McCain's "celeb" ad mocking Ododo's Berlin speech. He is just another untalented leftie hack, wannabe filmmaker, Hollywood parasite feeding on a dying industry. Sorry but If, god forbid, terrorists strike another US city, I can't think of a better place.
