Since when is community organizing and helping those in need a bad thing?
Maybe office manager Palin [oops I mean VP candidate] can bring the rapture on earlier and spare the rest of us thinking Americans the disaster and tyranny of Theocracy.

Obama - Editor of the Harvard Law Review being compared to office manager Palin.
Palin just alienated alot of men with her disrespectful and condescending speech.
Doesn't really matter anyway since McBush will lose in November.
If Palin is the future of the GOP - you guys are in SERIOUS trouble.

I hope we have a gay president by 2016.
Wouldn't that piss off the Theocrats!!!
That alone would be worth it.

Since when is community organizing and helping those in need a bad thing?
When the "community organizing" is done by operatives of the Communist Party and the people in need are demonstrably harmed by their actions.
The only theocracy we're endangered by is the messianic cult of personality that fascist punk and his controllers are trying to foist on us.
Why are you afraid of a strong woman who has a strong faith in God? Is it because she and we can resist the progressives civil religion (worship of government as god)?

LOLOL
new meme: "Republicans hate helpful people who just want to assist their communities!"
not gonna work, guys.
Most everyone gets what Palin was saying. In a nutshell, according to his own memoirs, he was basically an unhappy, unsuccessful mgmt consultant with a bit of a substance abuse problem, who took a $13,000 a year job stirring up racial hatred and discontent as a "community organizer" and later made good by getting his shit together and going to law school, later leveraging his skin color and charisma to get increasingly better jobs in the public sector. For him to now be trotting out his urban-agitator days as a "community organizer" as a qualification for President is ludicrous in the extreme. Most know this; Palin simply articulated it.
Whining about how great working in the communities is, is not going to make a dent in the contempt many people feel for Obama's resume padding.
Posted by: mega at September 6, 2008 9:27 AM
The biggest issue in the country is the economy, and the biggest issue in the economy is energy.
Palin-McCain wants us to expand domestic energy production. That means thousands of new private sector jobs to build production facilities, pipelines, power plants, and related infrastructure. Barack Obama opposes expanded domestic energy production. His conservation only approach will not make jobs, it will eliminate them.
Palin-McCain wants to cut taxes on America’s investor class and lower America’s Highest in the Industrialized World corporate tax… the tax that is driving so many jobs overseas. Their policies create more money for investment, which creates more jobs. Obama wants to raise taxes on investors and corporations, which will further destroy jobs. And he wants to do this not to raise revenue for the government, which he admits it won’t, but to satisfy his Marxist idea of “fairness.”
That’s the difference in philosophy between an executive and a “community organizer.”

Agreed, mega. Many of us on the right work in our communities through our churches, but it's not an exercise in self-aggrandizement. We just do it because its the right thing to do.
We don't do it to get noticed in a corrupt political machine so that later we can get elected and funnel taxpayer money back into the corrupt machine (Rezko) or the activist organizations that advanced our careers (ACORN, Trinity Church).

read this little article carefully and then make damn sure you vote in November.
Posted by: mega at September 6, 2008 9:48 AM
by the way, that last comment of mine was not just about voting for McCain/Palin (of course) but also voting for the correct Congresspeople.
Make sure you hit that link and read it carefully, folks.

Wow! Does Sarah ever make silly liberals foam at the mouth. It indicates how good she really is.
And it still floors me that the silly liberals expect conservatives to simply role over and play dead in The Obamanation's shadow rather than fighting for what we believe in. But then... that's why they're silly!
Posted by: Jimbo at September 6, 2008 9:51 AM
Obama trolls are so cute when they're angry.
Well, not really.
Posted by: Anonymous at September 6, 2008 9:55 AM
Obama shouldn't be touting his time as editor of the Harvard Law Review too loudly. He was an affirmative action hire who didn't publish a single paper, editorial or article the whole time he was there. That's unheard of both before and after his tenure. He has absolutely no scholarship to his name at HLR or anywhere else.
Sarah Palin has an impressive list of real accomplishments during her career. (not least among them more actual executive experience than Obambi and Plugs combined) She is the most qualified of the four to be president.
"Palin just alienated alot of men with her disrespectful and condescending speech."
That's an amusing fantsy. What speech did you listen to? The one from the voices in your head? The only males who might think she was condescending and disrespectful are the metrosexuals of the left.

Anyone read what the Leprechaun O'Reilly is saying after his big-deal interview with Obama? He's "brilliant" and a "patriot". All of a sudden, the hard facts (more like hard LEFT facts) of this guy's life have become just that...only facts.
Yes, he's for income redistribution. Yes, he wants socialized medicine. Yes, he'll gut the military. But HEY, he's a 'sincere' guy and wants the best for America (this stuff can be considered "the BEST"?)
Not sure what O'Reilly's game is. Yeah, Barack may be personally likable. So what? Have him over for a beer, not in the White House. If O'Reilly keeps this up, he should move his show to MSNBC.

Yep, they recycled most everything in Denver - plastic cups, newspapers, you name it. And then they threw their 12,000 American flag props in the garbage.
Good thing they weren't using kittens for props at the Obama Worship festival.
Posted by: mega at September 6, 2008 10:14 AM
Good news, smoke... Republicans rescued the flags and are recycling them.

"Since when is community organizing and helping those in need a bad thing?" -
"Community Organizing" is code for shaking down businesses and pocketing or giving grant money to friends and associates in Chicago. There is rarely any measurable gain in helping "those in need", once a "Community Organizer" moves on to elected office.

"Please continue" is my advice to these media folks.

You know what's really, really funny? Seeing the Mesiah of Hope n Change, the LIGHTWORKER, who would rise about earthly matters and take us to a whole new level....
...reduced to whining like a bitch about earmarks.
Obama, dude, I don't know how to put it any more simply or clearly: you are being played by McCain/Palin like a three year old.
If McCain can get you whining about earmarks as your lead completely evaporates, what in the F are you gonna do if you have to face Putin, my man?

"Good news, smoke... Republicans rescued the flags and are recycling them.
Posted by: V the K at September 6, 2008 10:21 AM"
This is going to do some damage.
I would have expected the DNC's greening commissars to be a better job of cleaning up - they wouldn't want a bunch of American flags to defile a landfill!
So, what else have I missed this week? Been out in the garage sharpening my pitchfork.
Posted by: forest at September 6, 2008 12:36 PM
I love the recycling angle! That's great and hit's 'em where they live. "So, you'll recycle plastic bottles and make people seperate their garbage...but 12,000 American flags go to the landfill after you're done pretending they mean something to you!"
Not the biggest issue, but one that can nettle them through November...

IT’S A GRAND OLD RAG TO DENVER DEMS
The Dem festivities were ened, the charade was done. The original lyrics from George M. Cohan’s “You’re a Grand Old Flag” referred to our flag as “a grand old rag,” using Civil War era slang, which Cohan changed following objections. Denver Democrats apparently preferred the original version.
The party was over and it was time to trash all those flags, said the plain old delegates, the super delegates, the superduper delegates. Now, what to do with the damned things?
It was bad enough that they had to wave them and pretend they cared about the flag but G-d damned America if they wanted to carry them through the streets of Denver or bring them home and display them!
With one call to an American Legion post they could have had them removed and disposed of properly according to the mandates of flag etiquette. But, why bother with all that folderol? They served their purpose of convincing the gullible TV audience that Dems gave a rat’s petuzzi for flag and country.
So they broke out the Gladd bags and stuffed them all in, all 12000 of them, and prepared to dispatch them to the dump with the rest of the refuse, with the banners and paper cups, with the remnants of hot dogs and burgers, with the spent fireworks, maybe with some used condoms scraped from the bowels of Invesco Field. What else could they do with them?
The good news is that the flags were rescued by an Invesco worker and will be recycled at a Republican rally for McCain/Palin in Colorado Springs where true Americans will wave them with honest pride: http://blogs.denverpost.com/opinion/2008/09/06/republican-recycling/.

Note: I’ve met a lot of (in excess of 15) Major Generals in my military life. None of them would ever put their opinion out there, while still serving, like this guy, unless they realized that anything they say could not be refuted. Major Generals are better politicians the most representatives or senators and know when not to support. Most elected officials would not survive the amount of decision making and direct responsibility that this guy sees on a daily basis.

I thought Obama was at least smart enough to remember that he is running against McCain.

Is anyone else surprised to hear that Obama has voted along party lines 96% of the time? Does that represent change or more of the same?
On a related note, how can he institute change when he's missed 45.5% of all votes while he's been in the Senate?

I’ve been reading/monitoring (but not trolling) several key PUMA sites over the last two months. I suggest that you all do the same and see how much they are fed up with Dean and Obama. I’m not joking. The staunch Hillary supporters are leaning to Palin. Go see for yourself. Just don’t upset them. Let them do their thing.

EARMARKS AND OTHER PALIN BLEMISHES
Having hurled ceaseless and groundless personal insults at Governor Sarah Palin and her family with no concrete results, Obama and his Merry Mob of Mudslingers are now zeroing in on earmarks. Indelicately, it’s like they’re throwing cow chips against a barn wall to see which one sticks.
This time, Obama, rather than hiding behind his surrogates who have been leading the attacks, thereby giving the Anointed One the ability to perch above the fray and appear “presidential, is leading the charge on the issue of earmarks.
Not one to succumb to introspection nor one to be bothered by his own personal and political hypocrisy, Obama is now bleating that Palin is a hypocrite.
Appropriately in ”a large barn” in Terre Haute, Indiana, Obama charges that Palin as Alaska governor has been riding the Earmark Gravy Train along with him and Senator Biden: http://news.aol.com/elections/article/obama-rebukes-palin-on-earmarks/153822?icid=200100397×1209110649x1200521859. In the earmark context, he doesn’t mention his opponent, Senator John McCain, since McCain has eschewed the pork barrel for as long as he has been a politician. Instead, in a typical non-sequitur, he criticizes Palin then launches into the prime and already tired and theme of his campaign, linking McCain to George Bush.
On Palin, he said, “she pretends to oppose spending earmarks when she actually has embraced them,” which is much like his pretending not to know Tony Rezko, Bill Ayers, Bernadette Dohrn, and the “Reverend” Jeremiah Wright when he actually has long been in bed with them.
If I had to choose, I’d choose Palin’s pretending over Obama’s. His pretenses are downright scary!
You have to give Obama some credit, though, for spouting lines such as this with a straight face: “Come on! I mean, words mean something, you can’t just make stuff up.”
To quote Charley Brown, “Good grief!”
Let’s take a brief look on this whole question of earmarks....
