Olbermann: Put 9/11 Down the Memory Hole
Via NewsBusters, here's Keith Olbermann's absurdly sanctimonious response to a tribute to victims of 9/11 that was shown at the Republican convention last night:
If at this late date, any television network had of its own accord showed that much videotape, and that much graphic videotape of 9/11, and I speak as somebody who lost a few friends there, it, we, would be rightly eviscerated at all quarters, perhaps by the Republican Party itself, for exploiting the memories of the dead and perhaps even for trying to evoke that pain again. If you reacted to that videotape the way I did, I apologize. It is a subject of great pain for many of us still and was probably not appropriate to be shown.
In other words, Shut up about 9/11, don't you dare remind us it happened, or we liberal propagandists will indignantly accuse you of exploiting it.
But it did happen, and if we let moonbats like Olbermann choose our next president, it is much more likely to happen again.

On tips from Cheetah and Burning Hot.

Whoever wins in November - its likely Al Qaeda will try an attack to test the new President within his first year.
If Obama wins and this happens? Obama will call for a national day of silence followed by calls for a meeting with Osama Bin Laden so Obama can ask Osama what he can do so they wont attack us again.
If McCain wins and this happens? Northwest Pakistan will be filled with smoking craters. If the attack is nuclear or biological the response will be the of equal magnitude. At least thats what I hope he would do.

"and I speak as somebody who lost a few friends there"
They ran IN to the building as it was falling to get away from YOU, Olbemann.

9/11 is an "inconvenient truth" (smirk!) for the left, as it's a reminder that we live in a dangerous world. This world, which we like to call "real life", has large groups of people that hate America and what it stands for. You can't reason with hate, for hate will not listen to you. Hate will hear what you have to say, and then get on with destroying the object of its hatred. Us.
The left believes you can reason and negotiate with our enemies. That might work (not a guarantee) if the enemy is a civilized culture like England (used to be), or Germany, or Canada - but probably not France. In many of the countries that despise the United States, the average person is living mostly the same life as his ancestors 300 years ago - enlightened they are not. In some parts of the world, negotiation is a sign of weakness. After all, why would you negotiate unless you thought you might lose?
The left wants us to believe that any old leader will do, and if it brings us down "closer to the pack" or the rest of the world, then all the better. After all, they say, who are we to be better than the rest of the world? Why on Earth wouldn't you want your country, and your life, to be the best they can possibly be? We didn't get here by accident. We got here because our ancestors came here in search of a better life, sacrificed, worked long hours for low pay, and busted ass to give themselves and their families a shot at a better life than they would have had in "enlightened" and cosmopolitan Europe, or in Communist Eastern Europe, or Asia. We also got here because the American system of government and economy is such that businesses and ideas can flourish unencumbered (relatively) by bureaucratic meddling. The left also despises this trait, though it is beyond me why anyone would.
The moonbats realize that if Americans realize that the world is still a dangerous place, they may also realize that they need a leader that will stand up to the threats against them and their way of life. They want accomplishments and experience in this position - on the job training could have devastating consequences. Barak al-Hussein bin Obama, the media's annointed light-bringer, stands only for BaHbO. He has no experience, military, executive, or otherwise, and his 300 foreign policy advisers (!) don't make up for that. It is for this reason that the MSM wish that 9/11 would go away and never come back. As long as there exist people that lost loved ones in the attacks, they can wish all they want, but it won't go away.
Parting shot: For a news man, Keith Olbermann is a great sportscaster.

I proudly "exploit" the victims of 9/11 everyday by serving in the Army. Videos and reminders of that day only remind me of why I joined.

The only subject of great pain for this Olbermann fungus is the pain in his great flabby posterior after trying to think of a subject to gibber over.
What does lost a few friends mean? Two? Twenty?
No real difference to liberal Olby.

It won't be soon until the backlash takes effect, ratings drop and Olbermann is flushed down the memory hole.

That was more than what I was going to say. Good show!

This is just another case of Olbermann flaunting his ignorance. Obviously he lost no friends(?) or family on 9/11 and in a few years he probably will have completely forgotten it ever happened.
Besides, where is your compassion? We all know he's been on the road diligently covering the Conventions with journalistic integrity and hasn't been able to keep his medication schedule.
I actually would encourage KO to expose himself(?) to everyone.

Never will I forget. Never. And I vow not to let my children forget either.

Obamaman started out the night warning that the goal of politics is to keep the public in fear from unnamed "hobgoblins." Think maybe he knew the RNC was showing this video in advance?
The RNC had the temerity to remind the public viscerally, not of mythical hobgoblins, but what actually happened on September 11, 2001, to change American's view of the Islamic Radical threat.
What an egoist! Do you note how mortal men and women on his program have a small picture whereas Keith Obamaman's head appropriately swells to fill every inch of my high def TV to the point that I regret buying the damn thing.
And his qualifications are.... well he has the highest rated show on MSNBC.
On the other hand, it was almost a relief to see MSNBC turn over the reigns to Obamaman. Like Rush Limbaugh, they have given up the pretense of objectivity and simply state their personal views. Fine, if they are honest about it in the future as Rush has been in the past.
Obamaman may not have been honest about his allegiances, but he sure was transparent.

Yes, let's shut up about 9/11 already. It's been seven years!
Now, as for slavery ...

Ha! Good one, ReaganKnight! They do have selective "standards," don't they?

Just as shocking, and infuriating, a scene today as it was seven years ago now.
"If it was up to me, I'd show it every day . . ."
(Thanks, Darryl)
