Hey tom, I don't believe all republicans are like the taleban...just most of the regular posters here. They have such a simplified and convuluted idea of what America and Christianity actually are. They justify murder, hatred and intolerance everyday here through their relgion and nationalism...They don't see that they would have been Loyalists during the American revolution, would have strung up the likes of Galileo and Copernicus as sacreligious during the enlightenmnet, and would have supported the Father land in Nazi Germany...

Basically, you cannot appeal to these people through logic and reason, because they are not capable of understanding the most fundamental priciples of logic. In their religious furor they have rejected rationality as a basis for understanding, religion being the direct opposite of reason. There is no reasoning with people like that.

When you can explain to me why Republicans have a charitable giving rate that far outpaces Democrats, you can talk about being greedy and giving the poor the finger. As per the charitable giving, here's a hint: Republicans and Democrats have a different philosophy concerning the poor. Republicans tend to view it as their personal responsibility to help encourage the less fortunate "pick themselves up," through charitable giving, education, etc. Democrats tend to want the government to handle all that so they can "wash their hands of it." While you claim to be for the poor, you really don't want to see them improve their lot. You want them to get used to handouts so they come to depend on them. Otherwise, why would they continue to vote for you? Worthless hypocrites, the whole bunch of you.
