Lincoln Chafee Attacks Sarah Palin
Thinking him more electable in liberal New England, the Republican establishment backed the moonbatty RINO Lincoln Chafee in his unsuccessful bid to hold onto his Rhode Island Senate seat instead of Steve Laffey, an actual conservative. Now this act of foolishness has been repaid:
Former Rhode Island Senator Lincoln Chafee, who left the GOP after being defeated for re-election in 2006, called Sarah Palin a "cocky wacko" […] Chafee said that he "found much of Palin's convention speech objectionable, particularly her 'mocking' assertion that Obama was overly concerned with al-Qaeda terrorists getting" their rights read to them. That "got to the core of everything wrong with the last eight years," said Chafee. "I consider that wacky, and certainly her tone was very, very cocky," he added.
Chafee is actually backing Obama, the most extreme leftist in the entire Senate, against a moderate from the party that kept supporting him even after he had been poking it in the eye over confirming John Bolton as UN ambassador.
Chafing's seat was taken by Democrat Sheldon Whitehouse, the second-most extreme leftist in the Senate. Extreme leftist #3 is Joe Biden.
Promote sniveling liberal RINOs like Chafing, get burned. Promote conservatives like Palin, shoot up in the polls. Hopefully the Republican Party is learning from these experiences.
On a tip from Franco.

Don't count on it. This is part of the corruption process of DC. There are people there who talk daily to the reps, telling them compromise (meaning doing what the left wants, as opposed to holding on to the ideals of the voters who sent them there) is the only way.
Once they've heard this a few thousand times, they believe it themselves. The only cure is temporary: Election time. During elections, they come home and realize they need to move to the right. They do move to the right, until the election process is finished, then they move left again.
I've observed this for thirty years. The republican party does not learn, and only seems to be getting worse.
McCain's selection of Palin was an accident on his part. He had no idea it would have the effect it's had. You can tell by the McCain camp scurrying behind the scenes trying to deal with her. It's as if the General of an army, engaged in a war he was handily losing, suddenly finds himself in possession of a ray gun which causes the enemy to scatter in total confusion. He's not exactly sure how to use it, but he knows what he has is good.

The RNC spent millions defending Chaffee in the primaries against a more conservative challenger. Imagine if that money had gone out to help Republican senators in Missouri and Montana who lost by a few thousand votes.
Not to mention how many conservatives were turned off in 2006 because of just this sort of gaming by the RNC and just stayed home.

Lyle -
McCain obviously knew who he was picking as his VP candidate. Whatever the vetting process was, no one could have predicted even in their wildest stretch the way the Palin choice has caused the Dems to implode.
Back to the thread:
Lincoln Who? Could you mean Lincoln (I'm so has been my name should have been Edsel) Chafee? He's another fine example of what the MSM is willing to do to find anyone with an R behind their name to slam Sarah Palin. The guy is so far out of his league, I doubt even the Dems find any credibility in what he says.

Anon, I think he looks more like a Dick Tracy villain, since most of them had similarly weird, exaggerated facial features.

He looks like one of those DICK TRACY villians although he would give one the cold shivers

Thus is the leftward ratchet, as practiced by the rats against the R's. they propose something ridiculous, and "compromise" on something less ridiculous, but which is a gain to them. Next cycle they propose something a bit more ridiculous, and "compromise" for less, which nevertheless is still a gain for them, eventually hoping to gain all they want. As long as the conservatives play the game by the rat's rules, at most they can hope to slow it down by varying degrees, but never reverse it. You can never win when you allow your opponent to define the rules of engagement.

Lincoln Chafing: Pathetic moron.
'Nuff said.

Lincoln Chaffee was nothing but another trust-fund liberal loser just like Ned Lamont, who cares what he says?

His mama warned him that his face was going to freeze like that, but he didn't believe her.
Now it is too late.

Did everybody hear about Obama's new ad which mocks McCain for not using email? Well the reason why McCain doesn't use a computer isn't because he's an out of touch old man...he doesn't use a computer because of the torture he endured in Vietnam. Way to stay classy, Barry!
McCain gets emotional at the mention of military families needing food stamps or veterans lacking health care. The outrage comes from inside: McCain's severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes. Friends marvel at McCain's encyclopedic knowledge of sports. He's an avid fan - Ted Williams is his hero - but he can't raise his arm above his shoulder to throw a baseball.
In certain ways, McCain was a natural Web candidate. Chairman of the Senate Telecommunications Subcommittee and regarded as the U.S. Senate's savviest technologist, McCain is an inveterate devotee of email. His nightly ritual is to read his email together with his wife, Cindy. The injuries he incurred as a Vietnam POW make it painful for McCain to type. Instead, he dictates responses that his wife types on a laptop. "She's a whiz on the keyboard, and I'm so laborious," McCain admits.

Lincoln Chafee:Angry has-been who wants to stick it to the party that threw him out. Bitch me a river Chafee, then you can go drown in it.
PS. John McCain on the View today. They try to tear him down and phail!

Yes. Yes I do really believe this. The last I checked, there's this little document that grants me the right to believe in concepts like God and the works of His hands.

If you really want to know who and what a person is, don't survey their friends. Instead, look at their enemies. It tells you way more about them.
Pamela Andersen, Joy Blowhard, Lincoln Chafee, .... hmmmmm I think see a pattern here.

Oh yes, thulsa, you certainly have the right to believe whatever you want to believe.
And I have the right to laugh my ass off at you.

Ladies and gentlemen: I give you the opposition in all its classiness. Learn from them.
Posted by: Thulsa Doom at September 14, 2008 12:59 PM
Yes Thulsa, be careful or moonbats will "laugh their ass off at you." They wouldn't dare bring up a debatable point, or argue issues with you. They'll just feign superiority and laugh at you. I wonder what the tactic will be in November?
"ZOMG U CHEETED!#@!!"

Linc couldn't be more on target with this one. Palin is nothing more than a Pygmalian/Tzvengali turned neo feminist Nazi.

I'll take him as my Dick Tracey any day! He is one hell of a guy, I know him. All of you are just plain envious of his beautiful healthy smile and great looks!
