I'm 61 and I thought it was Obama's socialist bullshit, shady dealings and lies that I found disgusting. Who knew? Turns out, I'm just old.

This is known as "plan b". If by some horrific turn of events the "O" loses in November, there better be a good reason why. The idea that people don't want this socialist bigot in office is NOT a good reason, so...ummmm...OLD WHITE PEOPLE WITH ATROPHIED, RACIST BRAINS ARE THE REASON! Yeah, that's the ticket.

Sean Hannity keeps saying 2008 is the year journalism died in America. You can add "reason" and "truth" to that as well. The left is now spinning spin itself, saying the most outrageous stuff and GETTING AWAY WITH IT.

If you vote for Obama, it's also because you're ageist (McCain) or sexist (Palin).

This flys in the face of direct observation of all of the really brain dead (illegal drug wear and tear) old hippies in CA who all have Obama stickers, or several.

Most of the old hippies I deal with in CA are some of the most liberal and openly racist people I have been exposed to, yet they love Obama.

Must be that they are more for socialism/marxism than they are against their true racial feelings.

I think there is going to be some Bradley effect in the voting in CA again on Obama. He had better have a solid double digit lead in all categories. He already has the lawyers lined up to challenge the outcome.

I have another theory. Old people say inappropriate things because 1) They've been around long enough to know bullshit when they see it; 2) They aren't afraid to offend anyone. Who do they need to impress, anyway? 3) They've been around the block a few times, and they know how the world works. They don't care for slick packaging, as the young tend to; they care about what skills, experience, and positions you bring to the table. There probably are some elderly people who are racist, but they were probably racist when they were young, too - age has nothing to do with it. By the same token, there are probably many who were racist when they were young who have changed that position as they aged, "brain atrophy" or no. Already in a few sentences I have given this topic a more thorough going-over our liberal friends would have ever considered, because once they have found a theory they like they don't bother looking for alternatives. That might mean they were wrong, and the progressive mind can never be wrong, now can it?

This "brain atrophy" stuff is presumptuous and condescending, two traits by which the left is immediately recognizable. The possibility that a lifetime of experience has shaped their way of thinking simply wouldn't have occurred to Prof. Von Hippel or any other lefty academic (I repeat myself). Their concern is not seeking truth, but in finding what they seek (whatever they believe is true). That the liberals are already seeking election day loss excuses gives me hope that McCain may still pull this off.

While trying to quantify it is kind of silly, I do believe there is a good chance that older Democrats, who traditionally vote for Democrats may be a little off-put by both Barack's ethnicity, and his non-Anglo-Irish name.

And I'm speaking from some experience with certain older Democrats and liberals. It's non-scientific and completely anecdotal, but this country has yet to elect an African American, and yet to elect someone with a non Anglo-Irish name, and I have a hard time believing we are going to do both things at the same time, and have that guy be a neo-socialist to boot.

That the liberals are already seeking election day loss excuses gives me hope that McCain may still pull this off.

There is a reason they are doing it. What polls are indicating is that there is a certain amount of racism regarding Barack, and his Arab-African ancestry, on the left. That is, traditionally Democrat voters who voted for Gore and voted for Kerry may not vote for Barack Hussein Obama. And his middle name doesn't exactly help.

And it's not brain atrophy. It's a common phenomenon known as "concern over the unknown".

I must need to seek medical help. I'm still right around age 30, and my frontal lobes are already beginning to atrophy it seems! But- even with this premature neuro-apoptosis I suppose that if socialized healthcare cannot cure my condition, that maybe a re-education camp could?

Don't worry old guys (and gals). Some of us young 'uns have the smarts and good sense not to fall for this BS. And I have faith that more do as well.
