Coming Soon: An American Carol

Moonbattery gushes out of Hollywood in an unending torrent, but an openly conservative movie is a remarkable event. An American Carol is almost too good to be true — a movie devoted to ridiculing Michael Moore and his mentality directed, cowritten, and coproduced by comedy genius David Zucker, who previously brought us Airplane! and The Naked Gun.
An encouragingly long list of stars have shown the courage to face Tinseltown's wrath by participating in this frontal assault on moonbattery, including Kevin Farley, Kelsey Grammer, Leslie Nielsen, Dennis Hopper, and James Woods. Also starring is Jon Voight, who has already drawn a target on his back by denouncing the Obamessiah.
An American Carol would be worth going to see just to send a message to Hollywood that there's a market out here that's been ignored. That the movie promises to be hilarious is just icing on the cake. Plus Trace Atkins is in it.
Don't miss out when it opens on October 3.

I checked this out on IMDB a few days ago. The moonbats are already crawling all over the discussion threads declaring it unfunny. After all, it couldn't possibly be, could it? Never mind it hasn't even been previewed...
One point I saw mentioned a couple of times; the moonbats don't all consider Moore-on to be representative of them to the extent we have done. That may be wishful thinking or an attempt at misdirection, but it bears consideration.

I've been excited for that movie ever since I first heard about it last month. It's gonna be awesome!

I'm so stoked. Because . . . this looks funny. I love Farley's delivery. Kelsey Grammar as Patton . . . while the moonbats will not think it's funny--because the jokes are at their expense, and they aren't used to having their own sacred cows skewered--I think most conservatives will find it pretty damn hilarious. Certainly, the best parody movie in years.
And I'm saying this as a disappointed viewer of the Half-Hour News Hour on fox, which never struck me as all that clever or humorous. There were at least three laugh-out-loud moments in the trailer for this movie, and I doubt that'll be the end of it.
Gary Coleman as one of Michael Malone's slaves in the alternate reality where--because war was bad--America never fought the civil war? I want to see this movie twice just to champion Zucker spitting in the face of political correctness.
I want to throw my support to Zucker for doing this, and for all the actors that participated. I'm going to go see the movie, I hope everyone else does to, and I'm going to buy it on DVD. And not used, either.
There is a market for conservative movies--made well--out there. This movie may or may not prove it, but I'm sure as hell going to see it. And if crappy films like Meet the Spartans can turn a profit, than certainly a genuine Zucker passion project can.

"while the moonbats will not think it's funny--because the jokes are at their expense, and they aren't used to having their own sacred cows skewered--I think most conservatives will find it pretty damn hilarious."
Indeed. Conservatives tend to be MUCH better at taking jokes and at laughing at themselves than liberals are.

Adam,
Yet Another exhibit of the moonbat/Muslim affinity: "There is no humor in Islam" (Ayatollah Khomeini).

LOL! The trailer is good.
If silly liberals hate it, I know I'll love it.
The last time I actually spent money to see a movie was Passion of the Christ.
I may plop down a couple of dead presidents to go see this one.

When Team America came out, I went to see it at a popular theator in the San FranFreakShow area. We were the only ones in the whole place and we laughed our buts off. It was like we had our own private movie screening.
We can't wait to go see this one, and have our pick of any seats in the house, because the local libbatards won't be there again!

Ah, Team America. That was a good, funny movie.
However, I think 'An American Carol' will be slightly better as a conservative film, mainly because it's more family friendly. I remember a few years ago, I showed 'Team America' to my dad, who is even more conservative than I am. I figured he'd like it because he shares my disdain for hypocritical limousine liberal celebrities, which the film skewers. Well, he did like that part, but at the same time, he was really disgusted and offended by how gross some of the other parts of the movie were, and was rather angry at me for showing the film to him as a result. A rather embarassing experience for me, to be sure.
In contrast, 'An American Carol' seems like a film that I can watch with my parents without any fear of similar embarassments occurring.

I GOTTA see it.

I signed up for tickets to a cool-sounding Film Screening & Pub Crawl on Oct 3. Supposedly, some of the actors will be going on the crawl. If you're in the NoVa / DC area you might want to check it out. here is a link for those who are interested.

I got to see a screening of it at the RNC Convention. It is hilarious and I would recommend everyone to check it out.

American Troops are murderers and babykillers. They need to be tried in court and hung like the animals they are.
Posted by: Tony at September 21, 2008 5:30 PM
Yes, by all means, we should give them a fair trial and THEN execute them. Do we really HAVE to wait until these assholes start a revolution? Can't we just start shooting them now?

First Ironman and now this. Suddenly, there is hope again.

Tony,
Your trolling lacks subtlety. A skilled troll can start a flame war without revealing what he is. You, though, are so blatant that you will never have success. Good luck, though.

I posted on some preview scripts of scenes from the movie:
As Patton explains to a dumbfounded Malone that the plantation they are visiting is his own, Grier thanks the documentarian for being such a humane owner.
As they leave, another slave, played by Gary Coleman, finishes polishing a car and yells “Hey, Barack!” before tossing the sponge to someone off-camera.

Tony
I agree with Evil Otto, you come in slow to flame a comment thread. You just outed yourself for a total Moonbat right off the bat.
I still advise everyone to go see it. Even if they are a liberal. If they like Airplane, Naked Fun series, they will like this.
Posted by: Stix at September 21, 2008 7:10 PM

Most of them think he's a total douche. Which he, well, is. I never figured that out either. Perhaps it's because he is almost a caricature of themselves and they can't stand to be reflected in that light.
But they loooooved Sicko. Make no mistake about that.

Dont ever expect it to get nominated for a oscar its too conservative

I have a friend who is a bleeding heart liberal/moonbat Michael Moore groupie. When I showed her proof that Moore had spun his information and had down right lied in some cases she said it didn't matter... the only thing that mattered is that he was making the country better by making his movies. Sometimes the Lefties make my brain hurt.

Ya thats a must see but what im really psyched for is mortal kombat vs dc universe in november ;)

Tony,
When speaking of executing people, the correct form is "hanged". "Hung" is for objects, like pictures on a wall.
And go to hell.

Parody movies don't get nominated for Oscars.Comedies are generally not given much consideration at Oscar time. Overtly conservative or pro-Christian movies don't get nominated for Oscars. I don't think anyone anywhere thought this movie had a chance in hell of being nominated.
What it does have is a chance of being laugh-out-loud funny. Especially if you're a conservative or consider yourself a pro-America "moderate".
But liberals will not find it funny. Conservative's can enjoy Stephen Colbert (because unlike much humor at the expense of conservatives, Colbert understands conservatism to some extent, so his lampooning is grounded in reality moreso than many liberal comedians, whose hate-filled diatribes against their stereotypical views of conservatives and Christians are just base and mean). Liberals don't like anything that makes fun of them and their views, accurate, insightful, or not. And they always trot out the "not funny" thing, because the minute a hilarious liberal turns into a conservative, that somehow automatically makes them "not funny anymore".
Dennis Miller can be hilarious. But now, liberals say:
"He's not funny anymore." Or, "He was never funny. Not even remotely. He was always stupid. I always hated his shtick. I always thought he was an insecure idiot, and now it turns out I was right, because he's a conservative." And so on.
But then, liberals don't like parodies of them, because they don't like free speech. When it's used to say negative things about them.

It does look funny. Its gotta be better than the legendary SOUL PLANE! Caught 5 minutes of that one a couple of times and wow - I cant believe they show that on BET.
Of course hard core lefties wont find AN AMERICAN CAROL funny, but most conservatives and half of people in the middle probably will.
Theres yet another anti-American government movie out(how many of these have there been in the last year that bombed?) BODY OF LIES coming out Oct 10th. Lets see which one does better at the box office. One book review had this comment: " A few critics noted, however, that Ignatius bends over backwards not to stereotype his Arab characters (most are wise; few are anti-Semitic), while blatantly criticizing American foreign affairs. "

Tony and Stix:
Thanks to those murderous American troops, ingrates such as yourselves have the right to express your puerile opinions in public without fear of anymore reprisal than from what we give you in this forum.
You want to address some REAL baby killers? Go talk to the folks at NARAL and Planned Parenthood.

I simply can.... not.... wait! Wouldn't surprise me if this movie is a blockbuster, as there are an awful lot of people who can't stand MM. Looks hil-freakin'-larious.
I wonder what MM has to say about it?

cannot wait to take the whole fam damily to see it!

I can't wait for this film. I'll definitely be seeing this at the theater.
Posted by: Keith at September 22, 2008 7:36 AM
I didn't think too much of this movie when I saw an early trailor, but this one looks better. One of thye great things about being conservative is that we can make fun of ourselves, Liberals seem to outlawed saying anything remotly critical of themselves and their leaders; another lesson they learned from the communist sympathisers who took over their leadership.
People like Tony are BORING.

This looks funny! Dennis Hopper is a busy man of late. He seems to have a lot of films coming out and events to attend. I just got his voice on my GPS from Navtones.com. Is there anything this man can’t do?

I was wondering if you could tell me where you got the information/proof about Michael Moore and his down right lies! I want to able to use that against my crazy, liberal friends. I can't stand Michael Moore....I loathe him. He makes me sick. (Talk about "sicko") I have always known that he is a liar, but I haven't found any actual documentation yet.
Ever since he said Hurricane Gustav was "proof there is a God" (since it distracted media away from the RNC), I just wanted to punch him.
Thanks.

Andrea...
If you can find it, the film "FahrenHYPE 911" is a good start. It's an actual documentary, very well made, as opposed to MM's own 'films'. Picks apart all the lies, shenanigans, and half-truths in "Fahrenheit". There are some good books out there too.
Posted by: hiram at September 22, 2008 7:59 PM
Andrea, one book I recommend is called 'Michael Moore is a Big, Fat, Stupid White Man.' I forget who it's by, but it's a great resource. It shoots down all of the lies and false arguments in Moore's books and movies up until 'Fahrenheit 9/11' (The section on that movie was quite small, since the movie hadn't come out yet when the book was written).
Two years ago, in one of my classes, we were forced to watch his first big film 'Roger and Me,' and during the in- class discussion after the movie was over, I used the facts gained from that book to really tear that film apart and expose all of Moore's lies and dirty tricks in the movie.
