Biden: Letting Us Take Your Money Is "Patriotic"

Just because they badmouth our country at every opportunity, attempt to cause it to lose wars, side with its foreign critics, and strive to "Change" it into something unrecognizable doesn't mean Democrats aren't patriotic. They just exhibit a different kind of patriotism.

Love of country is a hard thing to describe. But liberals' alternative has the advantage of following a simple definition: That which helps our monstrously bloated government to grow still more gigantic at the expense of our wealth and our liberty is patriotic.

Plugs Biden offers an example:

Biden was asked by a supporter what she should tell her wealthy friends concerned about the Democratic presidential ticket's tax increase for those making more than $250,000.
"It's time to be patriotic, that's what you say to them," he replied.

No doubt it would also be patriotic to consider it morally righteous to rob from "the rich" while offering dubious "tax cuts" to the alleged beneficiaries of the metastasizing government programs the loot will finance. A true patriot would also pretend not to realize that raising taxes on the wealthy will have a trickle-down effect on the rest of us by driving investment down and unemployment up.

If its so Patriotic then how about this? For all registered Democrats - increase their taxes 25% - at all income levels. After all they say they are more Patriotic than Republicans. Let them step up to the plate and prove it.

Well, since Lefties are the greediest people on the face of the planet, maybe his comments will bite him in the ass a bit.

NOW we get to the heart of what "CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN" is all about.

Get your f'ing hands out of my pockets. Let me work, struggle, succeed or fail ON MY OWN.

Live free or die. Don't tread on me.

Oh PLEASE Lord, keep Joe Biden talking for another 47 days! (I swear, he must be on McCain's payroll!)

Don't I recall seeing Post Turtle quoted as saying something like "loving your country means taking responsibility for your part in changing it"?

Awesome. Two things about Obama's proposed tax cut:

1. It's an admission that the Republican's have, at least part way, won this argument. He has a very specific tax cut for the majority of Americans. While Republicans would generally not look to raise taxes on the wealthiest American's (because it negatively affects lower income American's when the rich have less to spend) . . . Clinton wasn't this specific when promising a tax cut, and (surprise) it never happened anyway. John Kerry wasn't proposing tax cuts. Did Dukakis promise tax cuts? Mondale and McGovern promised tax increases on pretty much everybody. Yet, Obama has come up with specific tax cuts for working Americans. Thus, they clearly think that Republicans have won that argument with the American people.

2. Obama's tax cuts will never happen. They will either have to be put aside based on pressing economic needs, or they will be offset by the reduction of loopholes or additional carbon taxes and global poverty taxes that mean the middle class will be paying an effective tax increase. His tax plan is an admission that Republicans have won the political argument on taxes, but they aren't going to admit that tax cuts are right or that the government doesn't deserve more money from everybody to anything they damn well please with.

I don't make $250k per year. I will probably never make that much money. But does that mean I want people who are making more than that, 80% of whom are doing it by making things better for me and my family and American's everywhere, to pay more taxes. Why shouldn't they get to keep their money? And why in the world would I think the managers of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae have a better idea of what should be done with their money than they do?

What else will this idiot say to get noticed is he just trying to prove he is as stupid as they come? A FLEA OR ANT IS MORE INTELLEGENT THIS THIS JERK

Just in case I haven't mentioned it enough lately, I make less than $250,000, and my tax burden will go up significantly under Rangel's tax bill HR 3970 (which matches Obama's rhetoric, but with more specifics). "Reform" and "Closing loopholes" mean tax increases for the self-employed, like me, who already pay more taxes than people with "regular jobs".

I'm getting a little frustrated with Obama surrogates getting away with saying everyone who makes less than $250,000 will get a tax cut under the Democrats' plan. it's false. I hear it on news shows all the time, and even when a conservative is present, they rarely challenge the assertion with any specifics.

Man, I make so much less and give so much more to charity.

That's it, I am listening to Plugs Biden because, gosh darn it, they say Biden is a smart man, ask him and he'll tell ya. I have decided that my two sons will NEVER become successful. Never. In life I will make sure that they will maintain a C average both in school and in life. Why be successful? They're evil, aren't they? They never pay their fair share of taxes, right? Sure, the richest 20% pay 80% of the taxes. THAT IS NOT ENOUGH. If the richest 20% pay 100% of taxes than my lazy, uninspiring, average kids will have it made in the shade.

This is how the left thinks. Pathetic. Instead of anger, we should pitty these poor fools because they are as dumb as sh*t.

Put this in your browser if you want to see what the average moonbat thinks about taxes. It is just shocking.

I took the money my wife and I saved under the current tax cuts and did two major projects at my house.
1.I had my yard fenced in. Four guys working for three days plus the fencing material. Cost of job $13k.

2. I put hardwood floors in. Six guys working for five days plus the wood. Cost of job $17k.

I point this out to remind people how the economy is supposed to work. People that have money to spend fuel the economy. My family put 30k back into it. We had guys working who earned money from the projects. the factory that produced the materials employs people that earn money. All that money gets further put back in when all those people spend that money. What is it about this concept is so hard to fathom for the loony left?

Posted by: Zen at September 18, 2008 12:50 PM

There's nothing new here, no change, just the same old hard left drival right out of the HRC playbook.

While campaigning for the Democratic nomination for President, Clinton has said “something has to be taken away from some people” to advance her political goals and lauded billionaire investor Warren Buffet as a “patriot” because he wants to pay more taxes.

Oh NO, Zen. That is "trickle down" economics. It just CAN'T work like that.

The GOVERNMENT should come in and put up a fence for you. 25 guys, plus three supervisors and an inspector. 25 days (and counting), cost of job (so far, less materials) $174,243.

See? Isn't that more efficient?

(Seriously, I wonder when people will learn? This is so basic and fundamental.)

matt, if two mooks like us can get it, why can't everybody else?????

Posted by: Zen at September 18, 2008 5:16 PM

If the Obiden team wins in November. Expect a large portion of 'middle income earners' to go to a cash/barter system way of living.

Obama will put the meaning straight into the new American 'Black Market' economy.

Posted by: Oiao at September 18, 2008 5:39 PM

Yes, but if the government had taken that $30,000, they could have paid a community organizer to register illegal aliens to get welfare. Those workers you hired probably vote Republican.

You just don't get it, do you?

Palin proves her qualification to be VP:

“To the rest of America that’s not patriotism. Raising taxes is about killing jobs and hurting small businesses and making things worse.”

Posted by: BURNING HOT at September 18, 2008 9:19 PM

Since Democrats don't like to be accused of not being patriotic, then they should give all their money away for taxes. Then they will be the most patriotic of us all!

Posted by: Keith at September 19, 2008 7:30 AM

Time to retire, you tired old windbag. Saracuda is going to clean your clock in the upcoming (and, unfortunately, one only) Vice-Presidential Debate in early October (yeah, we know you're wetting your little panties, trembling in fear as you await this fateful moment in your crumbling political career).

Once you and Der Fuehrer have gone down in flames as of November 4th, perhaps you'll both move to Cuba and leave the rest of us the f--k alone! (Yeah, fat chance of that, eh? You like the creature comforts way, way too much, you hypocritical moron. By the way, Joe, how much did you give to charity last year? HMMMMMMMMMM?).

Posted by: jc14 at September 19, 2008 5:22 PM

I would seem to me that if paying more taxes for the government to use is patriotic then government officials abusing those funds for political favor is unpatriotic.
