ABC Distorted Palin Interview With Misleading Editing

The problem with treating the alphabet networks as if they were legitimate news services and not propaganda outlets for the left wing of the Democrat Party is that they will not hesitate to betray the trust placed in them by twisting information any way they can to advance their malignant objectives. A case in point is Sarah Palin's interview with the condescending ass Charles Gibson of ABC. The interview was heavily edited so as to portray Palin as a belligerent warmonger who wants to attack Russia. But look what Palin had to say that was left on the cutting room floor (via NewsBusters):

That manifestation that we saw with that invasion of Georgia shows us some steps backwards that Russia has recently taken away from the race toward a more democratic nation with democratic ideals. That's why we have to keep an eye on Russia.
And, Charlie, you're in Alaska. We have that very narrow maritime border between the United States, and the 49th state, Alaska, and Russia. They are our next door neighbors. We need to have a good relationship with them. They're very, very important to us and they are our next door neighbor. […]
I'm giving you that perspective of how small our world is and how important it is that we work with our allies to keep good relation with all of these countries, especially Russia. We will not repeat a Cold War. We must have good relationship with our allies, pressuring, also, helping us to remind Russia that it's in their benefit, also, a mutually beneficial relationship for us all to be getting along.

Not exactly sword-rattling, is it? That's why it was cut out, along with plenty more that didn't help ABC package Palin as an extremist.

Demonizing Ronald Reagan as a war monger who would get us all killed by picking a fight with the Soviet Union didn't work out too well for the Left. But fools learn slowly.

Next time Palin does an interview, why not just let Daily Kos conduct it? At least then no one would mistake it for the real deal, and not a politically motivated distortion.

If you want the propagandists at ABC to know you can see through their cheap tricks, here's contact info.

And this suprises anyone?

The left is attacking 'Charlie the tuna' Gipson for his failure! He failed! They can't get over it.

Even with bias editing, they could not make Gov. Palin look bad.

Better luck next time 'Charlie.'

"Would you buy a used car from this moonbat?"

LOL, thats a quote straight out of Peter Schweizer's new book "Makers and Takers"

The answer is a resounding "NO!", nor would I buy a car from any Liberal as they seem to think it is ok to sell a car with a screwed up transmission to a relative without telling them.

And i'd bet that she said every word of it without one single uh or um or ah.

Posted by: Trip at September 13, 2008 2:13 PM

What did she expect would happen? What needs to be done is to show the unedited version along with the hack job.

The 20/20 version was actually much better as far as not hacking her answers for "time considerations".

It seems the MSM would recognize the risk they run here but then, that kind of arrogance holds no bounds. Besides, we are mindless rable who are either easily fooled or we will forget this by tuesday.

She is bright, beautiful and a real woman. Some will hate her more for it, but most will be charmed by her and become completely disarmed before they even realize it.

Come to think of it, those are pretty good attributes for a President or Vice President, that would wear down America's enemies as well. Everybody hates the bad and the ugly. Even their own kind hate them. Take a look at Hellary. Everything about that horrid bitch makes her easy to hate. Those behind Obastard's mysterious ascent look at him as nothing other than a useful idiot, you can be assured of that.

Sarah Palin has it all by nature and by grace. Her beauty and her feminity are weapons that all women use, if they have it.

Who can hate Snow White? Only those who are jealous but they are not legion.

Gibson and the cronies that support him are worthless dishits and I would tell that to them to their faces.

It's now been over 15 years since I watched ABC, NBC, or CBS news. MSNBC has been on my screen only long enough to flip through it on the rare occasion I channel surf. I watch CNN only to catch Genn Beck.

Fools watch network news.

Hey, I know what we can do. We can contact the Saudis, and tell them we have uncovered "depravation and debauchery" with some media moguls. "It is lawful to kill ... the apostles of depravation... if their evil cannot be easily removed through simple sanctions," Saleh al-Luhaidan, chief justice of the supreme judicial council, the highest judicial authority in the ultra-conservative Saudi kingdom.

The Saudis are our friends right?

It used to be that such editing was the province of Michael Moore, but now it seems to have gone mainstream.

Up till now I thought McCain had made some brilliant tactical decisions, but allowing ABC to edit the Palin interview appears to be a mistake to me.

Cleared: Jury decides that threat of global warming justifies breaking the law
"The threat of global warming is so great that campaigners were justified in causing more than £35,000 worth of damage to a coal-fired power station, a jury decided yesterday."

BoKemp, I don't think McCain had much input into the editing job that ABC did with the Palin interview.

I also don't think it's getting any negative traction. It is painfully obvious that the "gotcha" wasn't much of anything, but what IS obvious are the differences between the Palin and Obama interviews by Gibson.

He asks "O" about his grandfather and how he met his wife and did he instantly know she was "the one"...and then starts playing major league hardball with VICE Presidential candidate Palin.

Gee, Charlie...how tough is THAT to see thru?

I live in a blue state and I'm married to a blue stater (!) This is media bias is so blatent that even my wife takes notice. I am disturbed that she (my wife) equates this with media bias against BHO or any politician. Maybe I am having trouble finding where the media has been hard on BHO. Is there a Fox interview so edited?

Posted by: Rob at September 13, 2008 11:46 PM

Here's what I sent to ABC (via the contact link, thanks for that, Van)....

You know, there was a time when I respected the major network newsmen, particularly ABC. There was, once. The interview with Sarah Palin was so OBVIOUSLY chopped & edited to paint a negative picture of her, it's absolutely laughable. Do you really think us little peons out here in America are that stupid? You don't think we see that you're not a journalist, but a propagandist?

Charlie, you're a condescending prick, and a biased hack of the first order.

Posted by: hiram at September 14, 2008 1:03 AM

You know, I just had an idea....

Charlie Gibson may be a Lib shill, and ABC News may have evolved into a Dem Propaganda organ... but the "C" in ABC still stands for "Company". Perhaps if we spread the word not to write to ABC but rather to their ADVERTISERS, and tell them, "no, if you're going to sponsor crap like this, we will actively avoid your products"... it just might have an effect. Screw Charles Gibson... let's put the fear o' God into his BOSS. The Board of Directors of ABC wouldn't like it if their advertisers started saying, "you know, we've been getting a lot of negative feedback, and we're, um, re-thinking our advertising budget this year...."

Libs or not, the Board of ABC still has to answer to their stockholders... and even the threat of stock prices dropping will make them worry about their jobs and "golden parachutes" if they keep slime-buckets like Charles Gibson on the air. Also, *positive* notes to the advertisers at truly unbiased news outlets would have the same effect the other way, as long as those advertisers aren't also supporting ABC, et al.

Personally, I'm going to start watching ABC News again (hitting mute whenever Charlie Tuna is blathering), with an eye to listing their advertisers. Maybe Van could post some contact links to them, like the one above to ABC?

Hit the bastards in the wallet, I say. Just my two-cents. A grassroots campaign, if you will. The Conservative "no-buy" list?

Posted by: hiram at September 14, 2008 2:18 AM

Hiram, that would hurt them. ABC is still trying to recover as the lowest rated network and any downward pressure in the income would hurt them far worse than one might imagine.

I agree, let's hit them while they are already down. They need a good quick kick in the balls to set the example for the rest of the MSM. Look what happened to US and Oprah (though both will say that they did not loose revenue).

People vote with their feet and wallets/purses, too.

Hiram - to paraphrase your idea, the Conserative 'Lipstick List'?

Posted by: Oiao at September 14, 2008 11:36 AM

"...fools learn slowly."

True. But leftists are willful fools. They are true believers, who effortlessly discount the evidence of their own senses and the lessons of human history alike. Drunk on the tainted Kool-aid of their ideological delusions, they choose not to learn any new lessons beyond their own rigid beliefs.

The apropos quote would be: "There are none so blind as those who will not see."

Poor Sarah. She must feel very demoralized, depressed and dispondant especially after Tina Fey's protrayal of her on SNL.
