Ramadan Fasts Imposed on British Council Meetings
British bureauweenies take another step from dhimmitude toward sharia:
Councillors have been ordered not to eat during town hall meetings while Muslim colleagues fast during the holy month of Ramadan.
All elected members at Left-wing Tower Hamlets Council in East London have been sent an email asking them to follow strict Islamic fasting during September no matter what their faith.
As well as restricting food and drink until after sunset, the authority's leaders have decided to reduce the number of meetings throughout the month so they do not clash with the requirements of Ramadan.
Outside of council meetings, most Britons are still allowed to eat when it's light out during Ramadan — for now.

Now eating becomes a hate crime? I supposed that even outside of Ramadan they are forbidden to eat pork in the council meetings.

I would go out for lunch at 11:30 and have the usual assortment of snacks at my desk, just like any other day. Then at about 3:00, when the non-Muslims are suffering mightily, I'd throw a bag of popcorn in the microwave. Not to punish the Muslims who are practicing their faith, but the Dhimmis who insist that I also practice their faith.
I'm way too independent-minded to ever win public office - pandering just isn't me.

Hey, I have no problem with this at all...as long as the Moslems observe lent, Christmas, Easter, Yom Kippur, Rosh Hasasana...
IF THESE PEOPLE COME TO A FREE COUNTRY, THEY MUST ABIDE BY OUR CUSTOMS, NOT DEMAND WE ADOPT THEIRS. WHY IN THE NAME OF GOD ARE WE CATERING TO THEM?

I remember my first encounter with religious fasting. I was sitting at an airport and a lady pulled out a small bag of cookies or something. After taking a bite, she offered some to the man seated beside her who refused, saying that he was "fasting" for religious purposes. She appoligised and put the bag away and didn't eat anything in his presence for as long as I could see them.
But that was back in the seventies, when the world STILL MADE SCENCE!

Being Catholic, I don't really care if other people eat meat on Fridays during lent. Since it's my personal decision to observe the fast, it shouldn't be binding on anybody but myself.
Maybe next time I see someone eating a steak on Good Friday, I should blow myself up in a crowded butcher shop. It's only fair, since I'm forced to watch the infidels taunt me with their steaks and smoked pork ribs while I'm stuck with fish!!! *evil sounding laughter* /sarcasm

how is it ok for people of all religions to learn christmas songs, hannukah songs, kwanzaa songs, and take part in other various religious customs, but if anything of muslims is practiced , that becomes catering to the muslims? what religion is this country exactly? if we're going to learn of some, maybe we should include islam in that. you usually fear what you don't know.

Well, thinker...last time I checked, no Christians, Jews, "Kwanzaa's", Buddhists, Quakers, Sikhs, Shintos, Hindus, Zoroasters or most other religions of the world went around blowing themselves and others up, screaming "Death To Israel, Death To America", organizing world-wide terror...and THEN demanding everyone accommodate all their quirky religious practices.

Notice the lack of a qualifier .. Because if Islam says it's a holy month, then it is. For everyone.
