Out Come the Chainsaws in Berkeley
At long last UC Berkeley, plagued by tree-dwelling moonbats since December 2006, has brought out the chainsaws:
Chainsaws lopped off all lower branches of the last remaining bastion of the Memorial Stadium tree-sit Thursday as UC Berkeley prepared for their final moves against the protesters in the oak grove.
Lower branches? If the treetards were in the lower branches, you could just reach up and pull them down by the hair. The trees need to be removed anyway. If they would just bring them down, moonbats and all, it would quickly put an end to the hippie tree-sitting phenomenon.

On a tip from Mike H.

This reminds me of a saying I've heard during evolutionary development discussions: " We didn't all swing down out of the trees at the same time.

Have you ever seen the harvesting of walnuts? It is remarkable to watch and very effective. After spreading tarps on the ground, the nut-getter guys wheel up a machine and strap it to the tree trunk. With a flick of a switch the tree starts shaking like a sapling in a hurricane - and the nuts come raining down! The Berkeley oaks could be similarly harvested to yield wingnuts and moonbats for transport to the San Francisco zoo.

the easiest thing to do, which they didnt do, and should have done in the begining is....
ring the trees...
kind of funny that the arborists who are so focused on making trees healthy havent figured to slice off a 6 inch girdle of bark from the bases.
end of story... the trees are then DEAD.
no way to save them... the rest of the protest is a lost cause.
its nearly a year, and if they did that when the whole thing started, the tree sitters would be sitting in a web of dead trees with no leaves, and really nothing to save.
at that point, you can let them alone..
as long as the trees are alive, they think they can save them...
since the trees are slated for removal, just kill the trees and be done with it.
its safe
can be done in a few mins
and gets rid of the vermin in a short while.
even if they did it today... all the leaves would be gone by next months end.
they look ridiculous trying to save a grove of dead trees.
so far, after all this time, i cant believe i am the only one with the most passive solution that settles the issue... since they cant swing down and protect the trunks.
sigh

Artfldgr, Great idea... if we were dealing with grown-ups. No, I don't mean the children in the trees, I mean the children running the university, and the city of berkley. You see, the only thing that separates an ill-tempered 9-yr-old and a member of berkley faculty or a berkley city council child is their chronological age. They are the identical age in their (im)maturity.
This is just one group of children having a spat with another.

sorry! I copied Artfldgr's name and accidentally pasted it under "name".

They are still in the tree. Not a big enough chain saw.
Note to lumberjacks; cut tree 1 foot above the dirt.

Fire ants might make life interesting for them.

No one in authority there seems to have gone to grade school where you learn a very early lesson: never give a bully an inch. He may hit you, but if you cow-tow to him, he'll eventually hit you harder.
Fifteen minutes after these losers were in the trees, I'd have gotten them out. "Hey, this can be easy or hard. Up to you. You have sixty seconds to decide."
Thirty seconds later, when the screaming and wailing started, I'd have said "Sorry...I lied."

In about 15 minutes I could round up a handful of 8 year olds and supply them with sling shots ...

"Fire ants might make life interesting for them."
Yes, but they move too slowly. I'd suggest catapulting hornets' nests into the trees, that would be more entertaining to watch.

Wayyyy too much grease. 'specially if you get one of those trustifarian white kids with the obligitory dreadlocks. I wouldn't go near their hair.

I suggest a fire hose contest. Winner is the one who knocks the most libtards out of a tree with one five second blast. Whatever is left for round two gets 10 second blasts, etc.
