He says interesting things, from time to time. I think he makes a fair point here and there. He was correct, for example, that Congress needed to have a real debate over the war. I think he has some obvious verbal intelligence. But, again, what's fascinating — and what might be distracting some folks from seeing his underlying-yet-occaisonal smarts — is that he lets his ego and vanity get in the way. The man loves his voice so much, you'd expect him to be following it around in a grey Buick, in defiance of restraining order, as it walks home from school. He seems to think his teeth are some kind of hypnotic punctuation marks which can momentarily disorient the listener and absolve him from any of Western civilization's usual imperatives to stop talking. Listening to him speechify is like playing an intellectual game of whack-a-mole where every now and then the fuzzy head of a good point pops up from the tundra but before you can pin it down, he starts talking about how he went to the store and saw a squirrel on the way and it was brown which brings to mind Brown V. Board of Ed which most people don't understand because [TEETH FLASH] he taught Brown in his law school course and [TEETH FLASH] Mr. Chairman I'm going to get right to it and besides these aren't the droids you're looking for...

So glad he didn't pick an old white guy. LOL

I wasn't going to vote for Obama and I'm pleased he picked a running mate who has already expressed what a poor a choice Obama would make as President.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... the only chance Obama had at being elected was to have Hillary as his running mate. Instead he "dissed"(as people of his race put it) Ms. Clinton by not even allowing her to pretend to be considered as a potential VP. Instead of giving a little common courtesy to the old white lady he pushed her under the bus along with grandma. Without thinking he also pushed his chances at being elected President under that same bus.

The only thing that could've upset me was if Obama had picked Hillary as his VP. Now he has little to no chance of being elected which does not upset me in the least.

I have only two words for McCain: Sarah Palin.

I could be wrong, but aside from the fact that she's a strong conservative, she's a SHE. You think that will fall unnoticed by all of those pissed off Hillary voters who just got thrown under the Obama Express along with her? I don't think so.

The "kids for Obama" thing reminds me of every BS Speilberg movie where there is some wise, unflappable kid who saves the day and makes the adults look like morons.

Kids for Obama? Like kids have the slightest idea about politics and world issues and governance? OH, I FORGOT! We don't instruct or discipline kids any longer. We let them "feel the inner self" and "follow their heart". I guess they don't get in touch with their inner child because...well...they're children. Maybe their inner pre-natal child or something.

Oiao - I'm the last person to ask about good local food - I work all day, sleep when I can, and eat a lot of spam sandwiches. If it's still good, we'll find out. The farthest I get from home or office is the local pub on the corner - LuLu's surfer/sports bar at Kapahulu/Kalakaua. They have a decent steak, great view of the ocean, babes, and beer. Everything I need.

Sound like a plan. I've probably eaten there. I like the area.

Check this long hair kid out making news in Denver on both sides of the protest fight. The question is, which side of the political spectrum is he really on? I actually was surprised to see him on Hot Air as a leftoid, after I had read a Denver Post article last night claiming he was protesting abortion!
Hot air provides an interview of him Hot Air – Encounters with the Left (Jason undercover) at Jason interviews Erin or Tommy??? . Note that in the video with Jason, ‘Erin’ is not too conversant on the left talking points, or is pretending to be against the Christian right because he thinks Jason is a real leftie. Who knows?

But, what is this kids real name? Is he also know as Tommy and really an undercover Christian against abortion as this Denver Post article surmises Seventeen-year-old Tommy Thomas towered over a small woman (snip) "Do you think it's OK to kill babies?" the young, shaggy-haired abortion protester from El Paso County said to Jill McLaughlin or did the Denver Post just use his image in a photo to represent him as the Tommy (another person protesting abortion) that the article is about?

Either way, this kid is getting lots of attention early in the game, from both sides of the fight, and he is probably clueless.

Someone might want to tell Jason of Hot Air to find this kid and let him know that he is about to be equally hated and singled out by both sides of the fight, due to his new found popularity.
