The US gov't is spending $10 billion over the next 5 years on global warming propaganda climate research. But apparently that isn't enough for some people. The University Corporation for Atmospheric Research, the American Meteorological Society, and the Weather Coalition are asking for that outlay to be almost doubled, to $19 billion. Choice quote number 1, from one of the Weather Coalition parasites:
“The science budget has barely been keeping up with inflation, and in some cases has suffered actual cuts,” said [John] Snow.
"The National Science Foundation got a 2% increase, not keeping up with inflation, and the weather and climate research got 0%, effectively a strong cut,” he said.
That's the way parasites think: the lack of an increase (or a smaller than usual increase) is the same as a cut. Bloodsuckers. As Tony Soprano would put it, "Aww, poor you."
Choice quote number 2, from the aptly-named meteorologist Snow: ...there may have been a lot of good intentions in Washington in recent years, “But the reality is they’ve been unable to deliver.” You got that right, Sunshine.
Any guesses as to who would benefit from the budget increase? Like the scientists proposing it, maybe? Parasites. Filthy statists.

Indonesia, land of glorious light, tolerance, Western values, Obama's childhood... or maybe not

Bushhitler Neocons Claim WTC7 was destroyed by fire. Which is ridiculous because, as Rosie O'Donnell tells us, fire can't melt steel.

Indonesia's interesting. It is the largest Muslim country (population) in the world, but it is officially a secular state. My wife grew up there, raised as a Muslim, but attended the local Catholic school. Yeah, I know, strange. That's why I don't completely buy the argument that "there is no radical Islam, there is only Islam," because I know most of them don't want to enslave or destroy the non-Muslim world. Their problem is similar to ours - just as we have moonbats in office that don't really represent most of us, they have religious leaders that don't really represent most of them.
That said, I also don't believe in letting them push us around in our own country. When I was in Indonesia, I went to a mosque in my mother-in-laws hometown with her family (most of whom were there to meet "The American" for the first time). I was in their country, so I followed along and respected their customs. I didn't expect them to change for me, and really that's all we ask of them when the come here. Yelling about how this or that is offensive is allowed in America, certainly, but that doesn't mean that it's the proper way to behave when you are the outsider. And our political so-called "leaders" need to grow a spine and stand up for our way of life. Tolerance goes both ways, after all.
I'll say this about Islam, though: you haven't suffered until you've been awoken by the prayer calls from about 12 mosques at 6:00 in the morning. I've been to heavy metal concerts that weren't that loud.

Van, Here's a good cover for an Open Thread.

Leave it up to the good folks at The People's Cube to be so visionary that they recognize the prophetic aspects of Star Trek. In this episode, the Starship Enterprise comes across a lone band of Obama supporters. You've got to see it to believe it!

Good snag Lyle. That is about how dumb progressives will be if led by Obmastebater.

Yeah! And concrete doesn't burn, either!

Make of this what you will. Morals, personal or otherwise, are not something that will be celebrated at the DNC. Time to Par-T, like its 1999!

TEACHERS GONE WILD IV
(Please see Part III in this series to make some degree of sense of Part IV.)
As seen in Part III, Principal C. was unique, to say the least. Whether attributable to being the runt of his family’s litter or to a brother who, also an educator, was accused of child molestation in Massachusetts, he was paranoid as well as, possibly, psychotic, which is admittedly a layman’s diagnosis. At the minimum, he was a legend in his own mind.
I’m not aware of his middle name but it could have been “Control” or “Power” since those were his driving forces. He was known for conducting extraordinarily long faculty meetings at which he would read long passages from Time magazine or ramble on about matters irrelevant to education but relevant to him. He also enjoyed repeating pet phrases, such as during Opening Day faculty gatherings when he would tell his charges to be sure to “get it up” when being observed and at pre-final-exam meetings when he cautioned exam proctors to be certain to bring their proctoscopes.
I never saw him twirling steel ball bearings in his hand, however. He didn’t need them.
He did have another very transparent weakness. In addition to demanding that underlings, (aka, teachers in his building), stroke his ego, he apparently enjoyed other forms of “stroking” as well. That service was willingly provided by a favorite and favored underling, Mrs. S., whom he insisted be transferred with him to whatever school in the district he was reassigned. (Disclaimer: the latter is factual, the stroking/servicing is conjectural but predicated on close observation and common knowledge. It also fits C.’s profile.)...
