The global warming alarmists are feeling a little jealous over the Convention and all the attention non-global warming issues are getting. Today, they've struck back. According to WaPo, we have until election day to fundamentally change everything on the planet or the entire world is going to be destroyed in 35 years.
You'll never, or at least rarely, see as alarming/hysterical/frantic an article as this one, about a non-existent hoax issue.

MUZZLING DISSIDENTS AND THE MEDIA: LIFE UNDER PRESIDENT OBAMA
In a stark example of Cold War repression tactics, Vladimir Putin launched new efforts to crush all opposition and dissenting voices. In actions reminiscent of the worst days of the former Soviet Union, Putin mobilized his thugs to pressure WGN-AM radio in Chicago to quash critics who dare to criticize the Politburo leadership.
“WGN radio is giving right-wing hatchet man Stanley Kurtz a forum to air his baseless, fear-mongering terrorist smears,” Putin wrote in an e-mail to supporters. “He’s currently scheduled to spend a solid two-hour block from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. pushing lies, distortions, and manipulations about Barack and University of Illinois professor William Ayers.”
“Putin critics were quick to suggest that political clout could be involved in seeking to protect Obama from embarrassment” arising from the release of records by the University of Illinois at Chicago “regarding a school reform initiative called the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, which Obama chaired and Ayers co-founded.” http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2008/08/obama_campaign_confronts_wgn_r.htmlWilliam
Ayers is an admitted terrorist who still boasts of his activities with the Weatherman Underground and who characterized Weatherman as “an American Red Army,” Ayers summed up the organization’s ideology as follows: “Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, Kill your parents….”What a country,” Ayers said in 2001. “It makes me want to puke.” “Today Ayers is a professor of education and a Senior University Scholar at the University of Illinois.” (http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/individualProfile.asp?indid=2169)

Here's a couple of interesting links.
First one is John Kass's column in the Chicago Tribune about "The Case Against Barack Obama: The Unlikely Rise and Unexamined Agenda of the Media's Favorite Candidate" by David Freddoso.
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/columnists/chi-kass-28-aug28,0,522078.column
And this second link is Obama's "Ping-Pong Fiasco" as Kass mentions in that column as reported by the LA Times.

It's a shame the media doesn't really care that Obama is just another typical corrupt politician from Chicago.

CARTER SAYS McCAIN IS “MILKING” HIS POW YEARS
Let’s see now. Former President James Earle “Jimmy” Carter thinks GOP presumptive presidential nominee, Senator John Sidney McCain III, is milking, as in taking advantage of, his 5 1/2 years as a guest of the Viet Cong in the luxurious Hanoi Hilton where he was beaten, tortured, and maimed by his hosts. http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/election2008/2008-08-28-carter-denver_N.htm?loc=interstitialskip
There is no need to defend John McCain. His record of service to his nation, his bravery, his selflessness, and his undying patriotism speak for themselves.
If anyone needs a defense, it is the failed presidency and the failed 39th President of the United States.
Now almost 84 years of age, rather than withdraw from the limelight and rest on his laurels, Carter persistently violates the unwritten rule for ex-presidents not to attack his successors. The only laurel I can recall is resisting that lust in his heart to which he once confessed in Playboy Magazine but, then again, he had the advantage of the warm embrace of Rosalynn.
Jimmah has assisted often undeserving people to own a home of their own by hammering nails for Habitat for Humanity and he did win the Nobel Peace Prize in 1982, which prize has become a political gesture by Norwegians used to slap down Republican presidents, such as Reagan in 1982 and Bush in 2007 with Gore’s award.
President Lust-In-Mah-Heart Carter followed that lust with a mercifully-brief one term in the Oval Office, a one-term distinction rarely bestowed on American presidents but he succeeded in those four years in accomplishing an equally-rare record of amazing proportions, not a good record, but still amazing:
* He presided over the nation’s first experience with stagflation, a...
