Obama Resorts to Tyrant Tactics to Suppress Revealing Ad

The Obama machine is going to great lengths to prevent people from seeing this ad:

From AP:

Obama not only aired a response ad to the spot linking him to William Ayers, but he sought to block stations [from airing] the commercial by warning station managers and asking the Justice Department to intervene. The campaign also planned to compel advertisers to pressure stations that continue to air the anti-Obama commercial.

Kind of reminds you of his fellow socialist Hugo Chavez, doesn't he?

Supposedly right-wing Fox News has joined CNN in refusing to run the ad, but it has still been seen in some local markets, mainly on stations owned by Sinclair Communications. Enraged to see their Messiah exposed to normal voters as an anti-American radical, Obamunists have been deluging the stations with nasty emails. Growls Obama spokesthug Tommy Vietor:

Other stations that follow Sinclair's lead should expect a similar response from people who don't want the political discourse cheapened with these false, negative attacks.

Unable to dispute the accuracy of the ad, Obamatrons have been reduced to whining that Obama was only a little kid when his unrepentant mentor Ayers committed his vilest crimes against the America he so hates.

The American Issues Project, which created the ad, responds to the banana republic attempts to suppress it (PDF):

Surely we have not come to a point where the government and its agencies are used to protect presidential candidates from citizens' speech, essentially destroying the very purpose, meaning and historical essence of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.

Ironically, if the media is able to install Obama in the White House, the free speech it relies on will be among the first things to be Changed, as his ham-fisted attempts to bully media outlets make obvious.

Hat tips: Stop the ACLU, Michelle Malkin.

ABORTION, OBAMA, AND BIDEN

The subject of abortion is one which most Democrats and most Republicans wish would just go away, but for different reasons.

I’m well aware that saying most Democrats and most Republicans is painting each side with a very broad brush since there are millions of pro-life Democrats and millions of pro-abortion Republicans but, in general, the former endorse abortion rights as does the Democrat Party and its convention platform, and the latter do not.

Both wish the issue would go away, however, Democrats because it hangs around their party’s neck like a dead albatross and Republicans because they wish Roe v. Wade had never happened.

That decision has resulted in upwards of 50,000,000 “legal” abortions in this country since 1973, a figure of such staggering proportions that it must weigh heavily on the hearts of all but the most hardened pro-abortionists, if they allow themselves to think about it.

Granted, the abortion rate has declined in recent years due to a number of reasons. Some of those reasons will not gladden the hearts of parents of teenagers, some are attributable to “safer sex” practices, some relate to secret abortions with the aid of the so-called morning after pill, and some are due to greater awareness of the procedure and its consequences.

But overall it’s a welcome decline although the current rate of 1.2 million abortions per annum, a twenty five percent drop in eighteen years, is still a huge number. A quarter century ago, a third of all pregnancies were ended with intentional abortions, today, twenty percent. (http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/5461945.html)...

Gene, yer doin' it again, please jump on an open thread. That's what they're for.

Wow, the comments on that article totally dismantle the author's attempt to smooth it over. I'm glad there are people ready willing and able to jump in all these places and take up all the slack with facts, not just feelings like the zombie cultists depend on. And I'm glad all those facts are out here for us.

Saw it on Comcast Fox News and Hallmark channel here in southwestern Pennsylvania. The ObamaBORG havent assimilated all outlets yet!

Soon they'll be publically burning books by Coulter, Buchanan, Savage, Hannity, Corsi, Sowell, and dozens of others.

I'm not being facetious – it WILL begin happening. And the queers of San Francisco will be throwing the Bible in the fire along with them.

Buy bullets, boys and girls - lots and lots of bullets. You've never seen riots like the ones that will happen within days if YomamaChrist loses the election - and you've never seen carnage like what will take place within a few years of when the dumbasses' prophet wins.

Lose-lose.

Jimbo, I'm with you on this one. I'm not in a "riot-prone" area, but no quarter of the U.S. will be unaffected if our major cities go up in flames. I'm making my final preparations now, and plan to be well-supplied for the post-election days. If nothing else, I save a few bucks by purchasing ammo now, before it's only available on the black market and not in local retail outlets.

I don't think Gene Lalor even reads this blog or the comments. Has anyone asked him via email to stop posting his blog on this blog?

What's telling is that that the Obama campaign hasn't responded by arguing any part of the message delivered by this ad. Well, except for that lame "but he was only 8 years old!" bs. Instead, they just don't want the message delivered. Someone should remind him we have something called Free Speech, and it's limited by speech that can be called libel. If this ad is libelous, then say so, and fight it like any decent American would. He's coming off as that whiny neighborhood kid who tried to make everyone play by his rules, then took his ball and went home when things didn't go away. What a baby.

Mr Evilwrench, nobody,

Gene has promised to start using the open thread.

Posted by: Van Helsing at August 27, 2008 6:27 AM

What is interesting is that many pundits say it was not Swiftboat that doomed Kerry. Rather, it was an ad showing video of his testimony to congress about the "atrocities" of his fellow American soldiers that pissed off a lot of otherwise undecided voters. Really compared to publicly turning on your foxhole buddies, the Swiftboat allegations were minor.

I wonder if Obama's swift censoring of this ad will do him more harm than the ad itself.

I apologize for double posting but I wanted to add that the point the Obama camp seems to be missing is this: The Ayers connection is upsetting to some of us because of the work the man does now. He is using his job to instruct America's future teachers on creating the next generation of Marxist revolutionaries. Obama seems quite happy about this aspect of Ayers' character. Of course he'll denounce the bombs. Brainwashing our youth is more dangerous perhaps. Obama seems to want this same type of brainwashing.

Cool beans, VH. Thanks!

hmmm, I have just seen this commercial on Fox News today, so I do not think they have caved in to Obama's demands.
