Now It's Racist to Notice That Obama Is Scrawny

You would think liberals would get bored looking for coded racism. Since they can find it absolutely anywhere, it must be like shooting fish in a barrel. But then, so is making fun of moonbats like Timothy Noah, who declares that it's racist to notice how scrawny Obama is.

Noah denounces a WSJ piece proposing that Obama's skinniness could be a liability. His keen insight has discerned that by skinniness, they really meant mulatto-ness.

[A]ny discussion of Obama's "skinniness" and its impact on the typical American voter can't avoid being interpreted as a coded discussion of race.

In the interests of full disclosure, Noah hilariously admits:

I phoned my former Journal colleague, Michel Martin, an African-American journalist who is now host of NPR's Tell Me More, which frequently addresses matters of race, to ask whether she was offended. She was not.

Apparently not even blacks who make a living off taxpayer-financed moonbattery can compete with Noah when it comes to sniffing out imaginary racism. He explains his theory:

When white people are invited to think about Obama's physical appearance, the principal attribute they're likely to dwell on is his dark skin. Consequently, any reference to Obama's other physical attributes can't help coming off as a coy walk around the barn.

In other words, noticing anything whatsoever about Obama is racist. The Obamessiah is so sacred that even naming his characteristics is blasphemous. We've also heard that mentioning his middle name is racist. But his last name also recalls a mortal enemy of America who tellingly is not an Anglo-Saxon. It might be safest to refer to Obama from now on as He Who Cannot Be Named or Described but Only Abjectly Venerated.

It's a good thing no one's noticed he has ears like a chimpanzee.

OT: Another moonbat sports columnist, this time from ESPN. Choice quote:

And not to sound like an apologist for China's government, but before we get too high and mighty with our moralizing, we should pause to look in the mirror. Yes, China's policies in Tibet and Darfur are contemptuous. Then again, there are many U.S. policies and actions that draw international ire, as well.

Sportswriters moaning about Internet firewalls and governmental snooping in Beijing are both flattering themselves that a Chinese bureaucratic gnome actually cares what we write about LeBron James' shooting percentage and also neglecting the fact technically our Internet traffic is monitored here, as well, albeit by your boss or your e-mail provider, not by the government. And yes, Beijing is so polluted there may be more toxic waste at the Games than at any sporting event since Lenny Dykstra retired. But Vancouver, which hosts the next Winter Games, dumps untreated sewage into coastal waters.

The sad part is there are people that not only write idiocy like this, but read and believe idiocy like this.

Coder et. al., I keep saying it. If this moron (Could that be "code" for black? No, but I'm sure THEY think so!) gets in office, we will be living in the most intolerant, racist and litigious society on earth. ANYthing this asshole decrees will be the Word From On High. Disagree? You are a RACIST BIGOT HOMOPHOBE NEOCON. You'll be sued. You'll be fired from your job. You'll be arrested and charged with HATE CRIMES.

The Obamessiah and his minions have done more to divide this country along racial lines than anyone since the Klan.

Posted by: matt at August 6, 2008 1:33 PM

No, no, no! I have had the epiphany that Barack has promised. He's not actually a black man at all. He's a light being. When He finally reveals Himself in all His glory you will know. He's come direct from the Mother Ship to save us from our folly. The Temple of Delphi will be restored and the Collossus of Rhodes will rise again from the sea. We will drink from the Holy Grail in the Temple of Solomon. The lame will walk again and the blind will see; beggars will drive Priuses. Wood nymphs will dance in the forests and hobbits will emerge from hybernation. Pigs will fly . . .

Posted by: ~Paules at August 6, 2008 1:48 PM

I think I have just had an epiphany! His nutjob followers call him a "light worker" and other such nonsense, and I can't believe that it took me this long to make the connection. I usually call him Obama or BHO when I refer to him in my comments here, but let him henceforth be known to all the realm as:

Lucifer

From BehindTheName.com: Means "bringing light", derived from Latin lux "light" and ferre "to bring". This name originally referred to the morning star, Venus, but later became associated with the chief angel who rebelled against God's rule in heaven. Even later it became associated with Satan himself.

Apropos, yes?

I suppose I'm a troll, but I won't defend what Noah is saying. It's fairly silly, and probably counterproductive.

I will take issue with Matt calling a guy who graduated magna cum laude from Harvard who was editor and president of the Harvard Law Review a "moron" and an "asshole", simply because he disagrees with his politics. Obama may be many things, but stupid is not remotely close to one of them.

And I thought the Clinton's got you guys in a froth.

Just because he has "credentials" from Harvard does not exclude him from being a moron. Some of the stupidest things ever uttered come from liberal college professors. I've watched Obambi speak and he can't string three words together without "uuuuuuuuuuuuuh' in between. It's painful to watch.

Just uttering the "If we all kept our tires inflated...." part of his speech puts him squarely in the moron camp.

Sad fact is, you can be very well educated and still be a dunce when it comes to applying that education to the Real World. Obama might have a whole lot of 'booklearnin', but he's still a fookineedjit (my favorite Irish word, btw) when it comes to his politics.

Oh, and how does the Harvard thing make it impossible for him to be an asshole? Dubya went there too, you know.

ok i find this strange. does anyone else? why would i dwell on his dark skin? does obama have especially dark skin? its not like ive never seen a guy with that color skin before. maybe if he had like the darkest skin id ever seen i might dwell on it for like 5 seconds and think "man this guys skin is dark" then id probably move on to something else. i think this illustrates something about this writers mind if he thinks its appropriate to just dwell on the color of someones skin.

As does his flip-flops. As does his Global Climate Catastrophe stance. As does his embracing of terrorists and bigots. NOT THE COLOR OF HIS SKIN, GOT IT?

So my use of the word "moron" had nothing to do with his formal education. As for the "asshole" remark, what would YOU call a guy that has de facto set back race relations 75 years? Oh...that's right..."Mr. President".

Yes, Bush went to Yale. That is where the comparison to him and Obama ends. Bush was a legacy, who was a C student. Again, Obama graduated with honors.

Richard C, I find much of your post astonishing. If you find Obama's speaking abilities painful to watch because he says a few "ummms", I can only assume that you want to blow your head off after listening to 30 seconds Mr. Bush fumble his way through speaking to anyone, about anything, at pretty much any time.

The simple fact that you believe someone suggesting keeping your tires inflated when gas is at $4.00 a gallon makes him a "moron", leads me to believe that there is literally NOTHING he will ever say that will satisfy you (by the way John McCain said keeping your tires inflated was a good idea as well).

I am certainly no fan of "tax and spend" liberals, however they seem to be a bit more pragmatic than the "spend and let someone else down the line figure out how to pay for it" tack that Mr. Bush has taken for the last 8 years.

Matt, again, because you don't agree with his policies simply makes him a liberal. Since 99 percent of you have already made up your minds that the simple act of being a liberal makes him a moron, I suppose by your definition he is a moron. However he would not be considered a moron by a vast majority of humanity.

Furthermore, I don't see how Obama, by the simple act of running for President, has set back race relations by 75 years. Unless he has a "Kill Whitey" campaign ad I'm unaware of.

Posted by: bt at August 6, 2008 7:44 PM

Yes, I made up my mind on Obama long before he started running for the nation's highest office, and it has nothing to do with race. To me, this was never a race issue, until his followers made it so.
Getting back to the original thought here, we are now being told anything his followers deem so, is racism. One would have to actually praise him so as not to be a racist. I can’t help but see a similarity here with someone back in history, who became so famous and revered, that now, even posting a drawing of him will condemn you to death.
By all means, vote for who you want. But look beyond your own backyard to decide who. There is too much riding on this election to scream racism when it never should have come up.

Yes, Bush went to Yale. That is where the comparison to him and Obama ends. Bush was a legacy, who was a C student. Again, Obama graduated with honors.

...and Obama went on to claim that inflating tyres saves as much oil as drilling produces, and that capital gains taxes should be raised to generate more tax revenue. Again, Bush may not be book-smart but thus far he's looking more street-smart than Obama.

No-one ever said Bush was an orator. Obama has been hailed for his supposedly fantastic oratory skills since the beginning of his campaign - in lieu of much substance on many other issues - and who knew, it turns out he can't string a sentence together without a teleprompter. Combine that with his lack of understanding of economics and, well, yeah, what was it that he did have going for him, again?

The simple fact that you believe someone suggesting keeping your tires inflated when gas is at $4.00 a gallon makes him a "moron", leads me to believe that there is literally NOTHING he will ever say that will satisfy you

Ah..... No, what he said was that keeping your tyres inflation would save as much oil as domestic drilling would produce. Nice attempt at spin, though.

(by the way John McCain said keeping your tires inflated was a good idea as well).

Sure, it is a good idea. Not as an alternative to drilling, though.

I am certainly no fan of "tax and spend" liberals, however they seem to be a bit more pragmatic than the "spend and let someone else down the line figure out how to pay for it" tack that Mr. Bush has taken for the last 8 years.

Since Bush's tax cuts increased tax revfenue, while Obama's formerly-proposed capital gains tax is a surefire way to decrease tax revenue AND hurt hundreds of millions of consumers with stock market exposure, don't you think Bush might have a slightly better idea than Obama on how to run an economy?

Matt, again, because you don't agree with his policies simply makes him a liberal. Since 99 percent of you have already made up your minds that the simple act of being a liberal makes him a moron, I suppose by your definition he is a moron.

No, he is a moron by any metric that takes into account economic prowess. Wanting to tax the sh!t out of everything that moves in order to somehow stimulate economic growth makes him both a "liberal" AND a moron.

However he would not be considered a moron by a vast majority of humanity.

Would this be the vast majority of humanity in places such as the EU whose economies and healthcare systems are mostly in far worse shape than America's? Didn't Chavez say he's in the tank for Obama, oh, and Hamas, as well? Why does the concept of the "vast majority of humanity" liking the guy not seem that rousing an endorsement for him, all of a sudden?

Furthermore, I don't see how Obama, by the simple act of running for President, has set back race relations by 75 years.

He didn't set race relations back by "the simple act of running for president." That is an utterly dishonest and disingenuous mischaracterization and I sincerely hope you realise that.

His candidacy set race relations back by his association with such people as the NOI, the everend Wright, and numerous others who are racist against white people. Bringing those race issues into the forefront of public conciousness placed a wedge between those who view his ethnicity as a factor and those who could care less about his heritage and weigh him simply on his associations, politics and principles. How do you imagine that now, after those issues turned so many voters off Obama and forced those who still support him to reconcile his idiotic playing of the race card, didn't create a divide over the race issue? Not to mention the idiotic comments his wife frequently spews in public - for eg. "the reality is that Barack, as a black man, can be shot going to the gas station." Right... as if Obama fills his own gas tank anyway, and as if he frequents neighbourhoods with high instances of armed robbery - and most importantly, as if white, Asian, Samoan, Mexican, Guatemalan and any other ethnicity in America doesn't stand an equally good chance of being a victim of violent crime. In fact it'd be a good bet that Koreans or other ethnic groups typically associated with running small retail businesses would be minorities with a far higher likelihood of being "shot at a gas station."

Unless he has a "Kill Whitey" campaign ad I'm unaware of.

Really? That's the only way in which you could imagine race relations might be affected by his campaign?

Yes, good job Mandible, and as a footnote to Matt's comment, one needn't be a conservative to see that Obama is trouble. Anyone who can look at the ideas he proposes from an objective point of view can see that they're just not going to work. Unfortunately, so many people have been hypnotized by Obamania that they can't look at anything without the lens they've been told to use.

And wasn't there another 'great orator' in the last hundred years who seemed to hypnotize crowds as well?

To listen to such socialist agenda I would surely have to be hynpotized as well.

Obama looks and sounds like a black Marxist version of H Ross Perot.

Posted by: Anonymous at August 7, 2008 4:52 AM

OK, let's lay this out objectively:

Case for Obama is smart: Has degree from Harvard.

Case for Obama is dumb: Thinks Canada has a "president." Thinks there are 57 states in the USA. Thinks most Americans are driving around on flat tires. Was photographed riding a bike with a flat tire. Exercises three hours a day to stay healthy, but also is a heavy smoker. Thinks tax increases are a good idea even when they result in lower revenues going to the government. Thinks invading a nuclear-armed country on the verge of Islamist revolution is a good idea. Sat in Reverend Wright's "church" for twenty years, but didn't figure out that his "spiritual advisor" was an America-hating radical bigot... something it only took about two minutes for the "dumb hicks" in flyover country to figure out.

Not as good as Mandible Claw's rebuttal, but what the Hell.

Well, how about the fact that the Democrat's candidate for president (and very likely next prez) belonged to a racist church for over twenty years, and financially supported it? If your extremely smart candidate can see nothing wrong with actively supporting racism for 20 years, how can there possibly be anything wrong with racism?

I don't know if he has set race relations back, but I will say he has opened my eyes to the realization that racism is good and cool!

Posted by: Frank at August 7, 2008 6:58 AM

I don't think Obama is at all stupid. He certainly has the academic creds. He's also worked his way to the pinnacle of power from near obscurity. I give credit where it's due.

Nevertheless, I can pronounce Obama ignorant with a fair degree of certainty. The average liberal/socialist has little understanding of market economics. You don't need to be Milton Friedman to understand the dynamics that drive supply and demand. "We can't drill our way out of this mess." Bullshit.

In the short term the ONLY thing that can bring down gas prices is more supply. President Bush lifted an executive order banning offshore drilling, something that had no real material effect on supply, yet his stated objective caused oil to drop by $20 a barrel. The so-called speculators (aka commodity markets) provide this nation with a valuable service. They predict future prices based on nuts and bolts economic factors while taking into account government actions that tend to distort free markets. Even a hint that more supply will be coming on-line will bring down the price.

What riles me is the deliberate attempt by Democrats to obfuscate. Their energy policy has become an idiot mantra: no drilling, no drilling, no drilling, period. The gambit can only work by playing to a populace that is largely ignorant of economics. Throw in some propaganda about "corporate greed" and you can see the Democratic plan quite clearly. Anyone literate in economics knows also that such a plan will do jack to bring down prices.

I guess that's enough for now. I need to go outside and inflate my tires. Arghhhh!

But this tire-inflation nosence? Durring the gas crisis of the Seventies, we were told that OVER-inflating our tires would give us better mileage. It did, but the uneven tire wear gave us another expense.

No, it's more like looking in your couch cushions for spare change instead of getting a job!!

It's beyond stupid that Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi support a "stimulus plan" that involves billions of dollars from the Chinese instead of opening up domestic oil production... which would create thousands of jobs at no cost to the government.

Posted by: V the K at August 7, 2008 11:49 AM

OK, my last (maybe) word on this.

Mr. Obama and his MINIONS (important, it's not just him) have set race relations back because

(a) his support from the black community is completely racist (i.e. 90% support Obama). Now COME ON. You're telling me they ALL think he is the best guy for the job? Hell no, it's because he's black. Fair enough, but how is that less racist than voting for someone just because he's white or hispanic or...?).

(b) The "you may not say ANYTHING against Obama or you are a racist" attitude is certainly setting back race relations. The anger and resentment is building up daily.

(c) Black people are playing the "now WE are going to show YOU" card, esp. relating to the "Obama can't be criticized" point mentioned above. Non-black Americans understand what's coming. It's called "whitey gonna get his". Again, it's an "us v them" mentality that is dividing people more than I've seen in my lifetime.

Mr. Obama is a socialist. He will kill our economy and replace it with socialism if possible. If anyone stands up and says "NO", they'll be labeled a racist. There is a lot more, but this alone is enough to make me say he is the most destructive, dangerous (for ALL Americans) politician in the last 100 years.

Oh, and August, YOU stop with the tire inflation thing. He said it would END OUR NEED FOR FOREIGN OIL. He stuck his foot in it, and you know it. (Typical liberal...keep stating what you want to be true over and over. The Big Lie, I believe it was called.)

(Another typical liberal statement: August will ALLOW us to argue there are 57 states. What WON'T be allowed when Mr. Obama is the dictator?)

Posted by: matt at August 7, 2008 12:56 PM

Dudes, my name isn't august. That's the month I posted. BT. my name is BT.

The fact that the tire gauge nonsense has somehow become the Right's rallying cry smacks of desperation to me.

Matt, I mean this seriously, if you can show me where Obama said inflating our tires would "END OUR NEED FOR FOREIGN OIL", I will be forever in your debt. I'm am almost positive he said nothing of the sort.

Posted by: bt at August 7, 2008 6:55 PM

bt (sorry about the August mistake), the quote is:
"There are things that you can do individually though to save energy; making sure your tires are properly inflated, simple thing, but we could save all the oil that they’re talking about getting off drilling, if everybody was just inflating their tires and getting regular tune-ups. You could actually save just as much.”

You are correct, he didn't say "foreign oil", but since we have more reserves here than the entire middle east, and since drilling will produce all the domestic oil we could possibly use (economically feasible at today's high per-barrel price), then it stands to reason that to "save all the oil that they're talking about getting off drilling" means Obama thinks we can save the hundreds of billions of barrels of imported oil we consume by correct tire pressure and "tune ups". Which isn't true. N'est-ce pas?

Point is, the price won't come down if you inflate your tires. It will sink like a lead balloon the instant we start drilling. And WE MUST NOT LET THAT ENTICE US...DRILL, USE DOMESTIC OIL AND TELL OPEC TO SIT ON THEIR LUBRICANTS. The mid-east crisis is solved. Fade to black (gold, that is...Texas tea.)
