Moonbattery as Emptiness
Kyle-Anne Shiver on the absurd Obama candidacy:
What could more openly and more amply demonstrate the absolute emptiness of socialism's promise than the perfectly empty resume of its newest hero?

Honestly, I feel like I should have known he was a smoker before this week. I read one small off-hand comment about it a few days ago. And now this. Gym, gym, gym, cigarette. Hmmm. That combination of sad, vacant look and cig looks very Presidential, don't you think?

Love him or loathe him, defend him or despise him, one thing no one can ever do is dismiss Rush Limbaugh.
Today, August 1st, 2008, a month after signing a new, eight year $400 million contract, marks his 20th anniversary as a nationally syndicated talk radio host, a truly unique accomplishment. Of course, mere longevity in that field in and of itself does not confer greatness–though it, too, is remarkable. Limbaugh’s greatness lies in the influence he has had on American conservatism.
It’s long been a given that our national media is liberal-infested to the point that news in that media can no longer be described as journalism; indoctrination and brainwashing are far more fitting. For 20 years now, Limbaugh has provided the voice that conservatism lacked for so many years, an alternative which we lacked until 1988.
In the process, he paved the way for many others who, for the most part, pale in comparison but he did make their voices possible, he did enable them. He is oft imitated but never even close to duplicated.
Unlike many of his ditto-head followers, I see him as a flawed human being, just as we all are. His personal life, his four divorces, and apparent greed, (see previous article on Limbaugh @ http://genelalor.com/), do not detract from his outstanding achievements and contributions to this nation.
Today, as Democrats attempt to reinstate the so-called Fairness Doctrine, a misnomer if there ever was one, Rush stands as the primary reason why that doctrine should never be reenacted. Should they succeed, America will once again be thrust back into the Dark Ages of liberal propaganda without the recourse of conservative rebuttal. (See “Why the Fairness Doctrine Is Anything But Fair” –http://www.heritage.org/Research/Regulation/EM368.cfm)
While you’re at it, visit Limbaugh’s website, http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/today.guest.html, where you can judge for yourself whether we need him, not just for another 8 years, but for at least 20!
May God bless you, Rush. Keep that one-half of your brain tied behind your back until you really need it and never forget what you always say, that your talent is on loan from God-d!

In this site, as well as Right Wing News, Townhall, and others, there is a constant drumbeat of attacks on Barack Obama for being egotistical, uninformed, inexperienced in actual governing etc. But he remains likely to win the election this November - simply because what he has done matters les than what he says, and a lot of people like what he says.
Rush LImbaugh is another examplt of the same thing. The man has never held public office or had any experience in government of public affairs other than as a radio personality, yet he purports to expertise on ...everything. His ego is about the size of Rhode Island, he loves the sound of his own voice ( so much so that interviews by him are usually a Limbaugh monologue), and his daily radio show is mostly a long commricial for the glory that is Rush.
For all the reasons that conservatives consider Obama unqualified to be President, they should despise Limbaugh.

Oh, please. Limbaugh is not running for the highest office of the land. He's a talk show host and the only qualifications you need to be a talk show host are to have an opinion, be able to articulate it well, and be able to attract listeners. He certainly has all of these. The fact that his opinions are largely commonsense and fact-based is just icing on the cake.

Great comment Gene, but let us not forget one of the real crusaders among conservatives, William F. Buckley Jr., may he rest in peace.
Big Ditto ent, metatron has been drinking some heavy duty, industrial strength koolaid if he buys into that nonsense.

Awww, metatron is SO jealous. I can see where a pathetic troll whose nic implies that he sees himself as 'the Voice of God' is reduced to whining in the comment section of someone else's blog. Whereas Rush has a daily audience of millions.
I understand the jealousy.
