Deval Patrick: A Preview of the Obama Administration
If the media is able to install Obama in the White House, he won't stop at borrowing Deval Patrick's speeches; he's likely to emulate the affirmative action governor's policies too.
This should sound familiar: Patrick was elected as a Harvard-trained Chicago lawyer with little relevant experience, who ran to the left of the more established candidate. Once in office, he devoted himself to spending taxpayer money on $23,000 drapes, a Cadillac DTS, and an assistant for his wife. Meanwhile, his state is plunging toward insolvency:
This year's state budget included a whopping $16 billion in new debt — that's more than half the state's entire annual budget. And that's just the new debt. Massachusetts taxpayers were already carrying the highest debt burden per capita in the nation. But that hasn't slowed down Gov. Patrick.
As the Boston Herald reported this week, Gov. Patrick has added nearly 2,000 new state employees to the payroll after 18 months in office. He's also raised his own office's budget by 80 percent in a year — not even gas prices jumped as fast.
At least not all of the taxpayers' money will be wasted hiring more useless bureauweenies:
And one of his pet projects is a $1 billion state "investment" in life sciences, a program using tax dollars to fund projects and facilities to benefit multi-billion dollar drug companies like Wyeth and Genzyme.
Unsurprisingly, executives from these companies are big Patrick supporters. I wonder what kind of federal funds President Obama would invest in the slumlords, terrorists, and racist demagogues who have provided him with such loyal support.
As an inexperienced post turtle elected primarily for his skin color, Patrick is easily dominated by Taxachusetts's leftist legislature. Presumably the same would hold true under an Obama regime, effectively putting Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid in charge of the country. Even that might be better than Barack the Teenage Marxist trying to run it himself.

Thank you for posting this.
We Massachusetts residents are HIGHLY disappointed in Deval Patrick.
Obama is not very different from him

But will Taxachusans choose the Right way to solve the problem, or just continue to vote the Dem Party line and continue to circle the drain?
In the end, they will be DimmoSheep and keep that corrupt tax dollar sucking sound around.
Why is it that when minority Politicians get the affirm-action vote and get to an elected seat where they can make a difference, mostly what you read about is their amature money grabs and personal illegal get wealth plans hit the press. And the people keep voting for them!
Hey, non-minority crooked Politicians are just a bad, however, most of them are still Dims too.

Oiao, the only hope I have is that despite Patrick, Kennedy and Kerry all endorsing Obama, the state went to Hillary in the primaries.
It does remain to be seen what happens in November, with this state. Kerry is also up for re-election, and is getting a few contenders, even from his own party.
Hoping we're seeing a shift in the tides here.

I'll admit, Hillary was a much better choice than Obama, for a number of reasons. Mostly, with her having been elected, one would have expected a 'mature' political machine take over the Executive Branch of the Govt.
Now, if Obama gets elected, we will get a redux of when Bill first went into the office, and many unqualified people were making decisions.
As for you Todd, good luck, earn more money and I fully understand your plight, since I am stuck in the Republic of DemoCalifornia.....

The below article has an interesting reverse correlation analogy to what is happening in the USA. Affirmative Action (promotion without merit or ability) is causing the same collapse of many Federal Agencies, State Agencies and local governments. Just look at the current crop of Democratically elected Affirmative Action Politicians. Elected due to minority status, but not experienced enough to fulfill the job or role they were elected for. All the same, they are protected.
Now granted, South Africa is a country where uncontrolled retribution racism and skin color entitlement has gone to the point of ruining the Countries industries, agriculture, social fabric and future.
And it is ‘unfortunate’ the white people (with the skills) are choosing to leave………….. give me a break. Sounds like Cleveland, Chicago, LA, or Milwaukee to me……..
The irony in South Africa is, they took over the railroad, but now do not have a clue about how to make the trains run.
You might be a MoonBat Marxist if:
- all you have ever done is live off the government take, never owned property, yet voted for every raise in property tax assessments you could - just to stick it to the 'Man.'

Why does a blind guy need $23k drapes and a Caddy? Crap, he can't even see when his adoring socialist constituency adores him when he rolls by behind his pimp-tinted windows.

skh.pcola, the blind Gov is the New York Gov, not MA's!
