Blind Thugs Loot Target

Justice is blind, all right — blind as a moonbat. The following is not a joke:

The Target retail chain will make its Web site accessible to the blind and pay $6 million to visually impaired Californians who have tried unsuccessfully to use the site, under a settlement announced Wednesday.
The nationwide settlement, filed with a federal judge in San Francisco, is intended as a model for the retail industry, said a lawyer for the National Federation of the Blind, which sued Target in 2006.

You would think Target would be in charge of how its website is designed, not some judge in San Francisco. After all, the website is Target's property, not the government's. But that's assuming there is still such a thing as private property, which is becoming increasingly disputable.

Mr. Magoons from the National Federation of the Blind will be monitoring Target's website for the next three years, to ensure that it complies with their demands. If they find something they don't like, they can loot Target — and Target's customers — for some more free money.

Next, blind people should start suing the makers of cars and cameras, which clearly discriminate in favor of people who can see.

I guess this means that the prices at Target (where I don't shop anyhow) will be going way, WAY up.

Either that or they can just shut down their website.

Hmmmmm.... Will this website have to go pro-blind moonbat?

This is the type of lawsuit Edwards was famous for... class action deals where the only ones getting rich are the scumbag lawyers. No blind individuals will see a dime(no pun intended).

Depressing as this is, there's still some cause for optimism. Apparently, there are still some retailers with the cajones to tell parasitic state governments to shove it.

The same Target that kicked the Salvation Army off its property and sells CD cases with Che Guevara's icon on them?

No sympathy here.

Clearly Target must have been "Targeted", because there must certainly be other retailers whose websites are not in compliance with the law (as interpreted by this moronic judge).

Heavy-handed government tactics that are designed to make us comply for our own good is always a travesty.

This six million dollar settlement is a warning shot toward other businesses. Get your wallets ready, the vultures are circling.

No story on Obama's ascension to God-hood this evening in his Greek temple? Maybe he is an Ori? (only Stargate SG-1 fans will understand that reference).

http://www.reuters.com/article/politicsNews/idUSN2636979020080826

"DENVER (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's big speech on Thursday night will be delivered from an elaborate columned stage resembling a miniature Greek temple.

He will stride out to a raised platform to a podium that can be raised from beneath the floor.

Once Obama speaks, confetti will rain down on him and fireworks will be fired off from locations around the stadium wall."

Fireworks? Hope he wont be using flamable hair gel. Michael Jackson would advise against it. I will half to tune into this garish spectacle - with the sound muted of course!

Are you kidding? There are literally BILLIONS of other websites not in compliance. This sets a terrible precedent for Internet business. It will unleash a feeding frenzy by the ravenous lawyers who can now go after any business at all. Companies may go under, unable to pay the legal fees and monstrous class-action settlements. Others may simply close down their websites or decide not to create a website.

As a website developer, I'm also concerned for my own company. Are we to be held culpable for all of the sites we've created that don't comply? No doubt.

Let's hope they can win on appeal.

SOMEBODY OPEN THE ARK OF TRUTH!!!

I'm a pilot. When do you think they'll sue to make airplanes that blind people can fly? I mean, it is a discriminatory design. How about the deaf people that can't hear the air traffic controllers? And quadraplegics?

What a crock.

How do you make a web-site accessible to those who can't see? It would be like making a billboard friendly to the blind.

No story on Obama's ascension to God-hood this evening in his Greek temple?

The temple in question was apparently made by the same stage crew that put together Britney Spears' last tour.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
