Warming Caused by Pollution Reduction

Don't tell Al Gore, but according to scientists, the warming that occurred during the 80s and 90s was largely due not to pollution, but to pollution reduction.

It has been discovered that heat comes not from carbon dioxide but from a mysterious bright thing astrophysicists call "The Sun." A reduction in pollution allows more of this so-called Sun's energy to reach the earth.

Christian Ruckstuhl of the Institute for Atmospheric and Climate Science in Switzerland and colleagues took aerosol concentrations from six locations in northern Europe, measured between 1986 and 2005, and compared them with solar-radiation measurements over the same period. Aerosol concentrations dropped by up to 60 per cent over the 29-year period, while solar radiation rose by around 1 watt per square metre (Geophysical Research Letters, DOI: 10.1029/2008GL034228). "The decrease in aerosols probably accounts for at least half of the warming over Europe in the last 30 years," says Rolf Philipona, a co-author of the study at MeteoSwiss, Switzerland's national weather service.
The latest climate models are built on the assumption that aerosols have their biggest influence by seeding natural clouds, which reflect sunlight. However, the team found that radiation dropped only slightly on cloudy days, suggesting that the main impact of aerosols is to block sunlight directly.

Once again we see that there is the farthest thing from a consensus on how human activity affects the climate — if it does at all. The only sure thing is that the climate will always change. Nonetheless the global warming hoax marches forward, as the governmedia self-servingly assures us that only totalitarian measures and a radical reduction in our standard of living can save the planet from cataclysmic doom.

One time I was discussing climate with some thoroughly brainwashed Brits and I jokingly suggested that we should do away with scrubbers etc on power plants and other industries so the good old fashioned smoke could cut down on the heat making it to earth.

I kid you not, a few of them didn't realize I was joking and agreed that it was a good idea. That's right, pump real pollution into the air to hopefully reverse an alleged temperature increase of less than one degree supposedly caused by non-polluting CO2.

You can't make this stuff up.

What is amazing is that the conclusions you draw are the EXACT opposite of reality. There is a pull and a push effect going on, man is causing global warming via a green house effect based on carbon emmissions. AT the same time, pollution from smokestacks and the like, has been keeping us relatively cooler by blocking the sun's rays from entering "the greenhouse." TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS HAPPENING.

In essense, ironically, our polluting has been masking the true impact of climate change caused by CO2, its much worse than we suspected when you take out the man made pollution that has been "protecting us."

PALOOZA!

Put that Koolade down right now!
You've had enough.

What a LOOZA

Palooza..I got some carbon credits for sale! Just send me $10,000 and I promise to exhale only 2X per minute. I will plant a tree for every $1,000. Act now while supplies last! If you send now, I'll even throw in not one, but two sets of Ginzu knives and a Popiel pocket fisherman!

Palooza... am I reading this right? You command us to READ! and THINK! right after citing an article from Wiki-"by moonbats, for moonbats"-pedia?!?!? Here, do some real reading and real thinking...

Here are a few quotes from the dustjacket from a new book you won't find at Barnes & Noble... "The Deniers". Find it on Amazon.com. Please note that, unlike Al Gore & his ilk, these are ACTUAL scientists who are ACTUAL experts and ACTUALLY know what the hell they're talking about.

"Dr. Edward Wegman--former chairman of the Committee on Applied and Theoretical Statistics of the National Academy of Sciences--demolishes the famous "hockey stick" graph that launched the global warming panic.

Dr. David Bromwich--president of the International Commission on Polar Meteorology--says "it's hard to see a global warming signal from the mainland of Antarctica right now."

Professor Paul Reiter--chief of insects and infectious diseases at the famed Pasteur Institute--says "no major scientist with any long record in this field" accepts Al Gore's claim that global warming spreads mosquito-borne diseases.

Professor Hendrik Tennekes--director of research, Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute--says that "there exists no sound theoretical framework for climate predictability studies" used for global warming forecasts.

Dr. Christopher Landsea--past chairman of the American Meteorological Society's Committee on Tropical Meteorology and Tropical Cyclones--says "there are no known scientific studies that show a conclusive physical link between global warming and observed hurricane frequency and intensity."

Dr. Antonino Zichichi--one of the world's foremost physicists and former president of the European Physical Society, who discovered nuclear antimatter--calls global warming models "incoherent and invalid."

Dr. Zbigniew Jaworowski--world-renowned expert on the ancient ice cores used in climate research--says the U.N. "based its global-warming hypothesis on arbitrary assumptions, and these assumptions, it is now clear, are false."

Professor Tom V. Segalstad--head of the Geological Museum, University of Oslo--says "most leading geologists" know the U.N.'s views "of Earth processes are implausible."

Dr. Syun-Ichi Akasofu--founding director of the International Arctic Research Center, twice named one of the "1,000 Most Cited Scientists," says much "Arctic warming during the last half of the last century is due to natural change."

Dr. Claude Allegre--member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences and French Academy of Science, was among the first to sound the alarm on the dangers of global warming. His view now: "The cause of this climate change is unknown."

Dr. Richard Lindzen--professor of meteorology at MIT and member of the National Research Council Board on Atmospheric Sciences and Climate, says global warming alarmists "are trumpeting catastrophes that couldn't happen even if the models were right."

Dr. Habibullo Abdussamatov--head of the space research laboratory of the Russian Academy of Science's Pulkovo Observatory and of the International Space Station's Astrometria project, says that "the common view that man's industrial activity is a deciding factor in global warming has emerged from a misinterpretation of cause and effect relations."

Dr. Richard Tol--principal researcher at the Institute for Environmental Studies at Vrije Universiteit, and adjunct professor at the Center for Integrated Study of the Human Dimensions of Global Change, at Carnegie Mellon University, calls the most influential global warming report of all time "preposterous … alarmist and incompetent."

Dr. Sami Solanki--director and scientific member at the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research in Germany, who argues that changes in the sun's state, not human activity, may be the principal cause of global warming: "The sun has been at its strongest over the past 60 years and may now be affecting global temperatures."

Professor Freeman Dyson--one of the world's most eminent physicists, says the models used to justify global warming alarmism are "full of fudge factors" and "do not begin to describe the real world."

Dr. Eigils Friis-Christensen--director of the Danish National Space Centre and vice president of the International Association of Geomagnetism and Aeronomy, argues that changes in the sun's behavior could account for most of the warming attributed by the U.N. to man-made CO2.

"...man is causing global warming via a green house effect based on carbon emmissions."

Palooza, Al Gore's own tempature/CO2 graph shows that CO2 levels rose LONG AFTER the rises in tempatures. Common sence forces us to conclude that TEMPATURES cause high CO2 levels, not the other way around.
You've been had.

The "Hockey Stick was Broken in 2006"

SUMMARY OF LATEST DEVELOPMENTS OF MANMADE GLOBAL WARMING HOCKEY STICK

First, I would like to summarize some of the recent developments in the controversy over whether or not humans have created a climate catastrophe. One of the key aspects that the United Nations, environmental groups and the media have promoted as the “smoking gun” of proof of catastrophic global warming is the so-called ‘hockey stick’ temperature graph by climate scientist Michael Mann and his colleagues.

This graph purported to show that temperatures in the Northern Hemisphere remained relatively stable over 900 years, then spiked upward in the 20th century presumably due to human activity. Mann, who also co-publishes a global warming propaganda blog reportedly set up with the help of an environmental group, had his “Hockey Stick” come under severe scrutiny.

The “hockey stick” was completely and thoroughly broken once and for all in 2006. Several years ago, two Canadian researchers tore apart the statistical foundation for the hockey stick. In 2006, both the National Academy of Sciences and an independent researcher further refuted the foundation of the “hockey stick.”

The National Academy of Sciences report reaffirmed the existence of the Medieval Warm Period from about 900 AD to 1300 AD and the Little Ice Age from about 1500 to 1850. Both of these periods occurred long before the invention of the SUV or human industrial activity could have possibly impacted the Earth’s climate. In fact, scientists believe the Earth was warmer than today during the Medieval Warm Period, when the Vikings grew crops in Greenland.

Now Puloozer, go some place and THINK using some real facts... and LEARN.
