Term "Black Hole" Deemed Racist
The scientific term "black hole" may soon join "denigrate" on the forbidden vocabulary list. It was deemed racist at a meeting of Dallas County commissioners:
Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield, who is white, said it seemed that central collections "has become a black hole" because paperwork reportedly has become lost in the office.
Commissioner John Wiley Price, who is black, interrupted him with a loud "Excuse me!" He then corrected his colleague, saying the office has become a "white hole."
That prompted Judge Thomas Jones, who is black, to demand an apology from Mayfield for his racially insensitive analogy.
This is just a hint of the insanity we can expect if PC totalitarians are successful at installing Barack Obama in the White House — which may have to be renamed in the interests of preventing white supremacism.

Perhaps it should be called "no light can escape from it" hole. An even better name would be "Where the government is throwing all our money into" hole.

LOL@ Cteen. I think the "White House" will be renamed "Palace Obama" since it will house Americas first elitist, black Monarchy... The stupidity in deeming a "scientific term" as "racist" demonstrates how ignorant the act of Political Correctness and the far leftard wing really are.

Here's a suggestion for all those racist scientists: all graviational singularities with infinite density must now be called "gallows" holes. (or something)

So Mayfield had to apologize for his "insensitive" remark, but Price did not? Fascinating, yes?
The proper response to this is, of course: "I'm sorry, how insensitive of me. I meant that central collections has become an African-American hole." "Hole-of-color" is also an acceptable answer.

All our holes are equal opportunity holes.

Wait... Is black a color? I thought that's why blacks protested being called "colored" when they wanted to be called "black" a long time after they rejected "negro" and before they chose "African-American"...

From an artist point of view... White is "the presence of all colors of the spectrum, black is the abscence of any color at all, empty, nothing to reflect light visually... so we can just call them "Colorless Holes".

It was a rather testy exchange.
Wait - can we even say that any more, or is it sexist?
Maybe they were ...uh...short-tempered because the meeting was holding up the cocktails.
I mean, the drinks.

I wasn't going to comment on this one, but I wouldn't want to be accused of being NIGGARDLY with words. (Remember THAT one?)

Someone should introduce Judge Thomas Jones to Neil Degrasse Tyson, or at least Tim Russ.
Posted by: James McEnanly at July 9, 2008 7:56 PM
Maybe he should have called it a nappy-headed hole.
