Televisions Accused of Causing Global Warming
As an apparent prelude to restricting them, the governmedia has decided that even television sets exacerbate the imaginary global warming crisis:
A gas used in the making of flat screen televisions, nitrogen trifluoride (NF3), is being blamed for damaging the atmosphere and accelerating global warming. […] The gas, widely used in the manufacture of flat screen TVs, is estimated to be 17,000 times as powerful as carbon dioxide.
Wow, this new menace causes 17,000 times the damage of CO2! Legislation needs to be passed before voters figure out that 17,000 times zero is still zero.
No doubt all flat-screen TVs have already been removed from the mansions of Al Gore and his crusading Hollyweird friends.
Progressives ought to be careful about what they target for their beloved restrictions. Without television to keep them in a brainwashed trance, people might start thinking, and where would the liberal elite be then? Probably hanging from lampposts.

Then by watching Gore's Earth Aid or whatever the heck it was called last year on your large screen television set was CONTRIBUTING to the problem you thought you were fighting against!
The solution? Buy carbon credits from Al Gore's company so some poor schlub in a third world country can plant a tree while you continue to watch television in air-condidioned comfort. Everyone wins!

The time is coming when an inspector will come to your house and go over everything (appliances, TVs, etc) and give you a Green Rating. You'll be fined depending on how well you do. Mark my words.

And why not, I mean it's only poor 3rd world people that can't afford refridgeration and die of preventable food borne disease and suffer from starvation. Who cares about them anyway.

Don't the flat screens use less energy than their CRT predecessors? I have also noticed that the LCD television I purchased to replace my old CRT model doesn't put out as much heat as the old one did.
When conservatives think of the future, they think of something like Star Trek, with abundant energy, abundant knowledge and abundant materials. When Moonbats think of the future, they see something like Soylent Green.

Eventually someone will figure out that breathing causes CO2, then there will be a tax on that. But if you exercise, then you breath more, and exhale more CO2. So, exercise is bad for you..... No, hold on, exercise s good for you, isn't it? HHHELLLLPPPPPP!!!!
