Obambi: Surrender = Victory
The jejune post turtle our media wants to pass off as a presidential candidate gave a serious grownup speech about foreign policy yesterday. Here he is explaining why we need to secure victory by surrendering, because it will save money:
From the NY Times transcript:
For weeks, now, Senator McCain has argued that the gains of the surge mean that I should change my commitment to end the war. But this argument misconstrues what is necessary to succeed in Iraq, and stubbornly ignores the facts of the broader strategic picture that we face.
"Broader strategic picture" does sound like something an adult would say, but has this cretin wondered for even one minute what effect his "commitment to end the war" by effectively surrendering to Iran and al Qaeda would have on it? Does he think it would save money to hand Iran a stranglehold on Middle Eastern oil?

Whoa there boys and girls,
As a Republican engineer with multiple degrees, who is familiar with windpower, I have to take excetpion with this. Pickens is completely right. Windpower is going to be huge.
BTW - Moonbats don't like windpower, unless it is in somebody else's backyard.

B. Hussein Obama is a master of speaking gobbledygook. Check out a transcript of what he's saying:
For weeks now, Sen. McCain has argued that the gains of the surge mean that I should change my commitment to end the war.
But this argument misconstrues what is necessary to succeed in Iraq, and stubbornly ignores the facts of the broader strategic picture that we face.
So "success" in Iraq is the US retreating before victory can be assured. Then, for years to come, the "broader picture" is that the left will use the Iraq war, much as they have used Viet Nam war for the past 30 years.

Republican engineer with multiple degrees CFV,
It is customary on blog forums to post comments relevant to the current topic. Your post belongs THERE instead of here.

Cartoon News Network is concerned Colombia may have committed war crimes in it's recent rescue of FARC hostages:

I couldn't resist passing this one along; Reuters and MSNBC think Bruce Springsteen was instrumental in bringing down the Berlin Wall:

And apparently, Mrs Obama sneers that people are blowing their $600 stimulus (a.k.a. election year tax bribe) checks on earrings. Are these elite snobs so out of touch that they think working people would blow $600 on earrings?

Oblama says that after withdrawing troops from Iraq, he will KEEP TROOPS in AFGANISTAN untill the job is done.
Pardon my conservative stupidity, but isn't that the same kind of talk that made Liberals call Iraq "a quagmire"?

Looks like you'll get a preview what the Obama adminstration will be like, six months early, now that George Dubya has agreed to negotiate with Iran.
So now we're negotiating with North Korea AND Iran. So much for the tough "axis of evil" rhetoric.

Um, the Bush administration has *always* been negotiating with Iran and North Korea. Only completely brain-dead, completely out-of-touch, stoned, dumb-as-a-bag-of-hammers, mouth-breathing leftoid idiots believe otherwise.

Leftist retards are also vague on the difference between negotiating from a position of strength and a willingness to use force and negotiating with a willingness to appease at all costs.

I know I should ignore trolls, but when they say something so stupid it bends the fabric of time and space, it's tough to ignore.

"Immediate withdrawal from Iraq, but we’ll send troops again if Al Qaeda appears there” - Barack Hussein Obama
This is YOUR boy, Liberals!

"Leftist retards are also vague on the difference between negotiating from a position of strength and a willingness to use force and negotiating with a willingness to appease at all costs."
That is what people don't get. McCain talking to a hostile country, and Obama talking to a hostile country are 2 completely different things.

An update to a recent post.

Remember the public toilets in Seattle which had become a public nuisance at a cost of $1M each to the taxpayer?
Well now you can have your own personal unit for only $89,000 each.

What a deal!

Cluebat,
This toilet story continues to entertain. I'm thinking of buying one of these things to use as the centerpiece for the Museum of Moonbattery. Looks like the price isn't going anywhere:
"As of Thursday morning, none of the toilets had received any bids."
I surprised the elite don't leave the toilets in place and just make them for "party members only".

Sad day for Moonbats, prostitutes and crackheads in Seattle..... ok, I know, the prostitute and crackhead references are a bit redundant.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080717/ap_on_fe_st/odd_seattle_toilets
"On May 19, the City Council voted to remove the problem toilets. Council President Richard Conlin said although people were using the high-tech, self-cleaning silver stalls, they also fostered illegal behavior, such as prostitution and drug use.
The German-made automatic, high-tech toilets were installed in 2004 and have cost the city about $5 million. Each has handsfree washing and drying ability and an emergency button that automatically dials 911.
On the bright side one of these babies can be yours fo $89,000....

Good news from the GORACLE ! We have until 2018 to switch to Earth Friendly energy... Im so relieved!

"Called an alarmist by conservatives, Gore has made combatting global warming his signature issue, a campaign that has been recognized worldwide — from an Academy Award to a Nobel Prize. He portrayed Thursday's speech as the latest and most important phase in his effort to build public opinion in favor of alternative fuels.
He knows politicians fear to act unless voters are willing to sacrifice — and demand new fuels.
"I hope to contribute to a new political environment in this country that will allow the next president to do what I think the next president is going to think is the right thing to do," Gore said. "But the people have to play a part." He likened his challenge to Kennedy's pledge in May 1961 to land a man on the moon by the end of the decade."

Another Iraq themed production bites the big one.

"Broadcasting and Cable is reporting a viewership of 1.3 million for the double run premiere episode of HBO’s Generation Kill miniseries. It didn’t even come close to matching HBO’s miniseries about our second President:
The episode, entitled “Get Some,” drew just over 1 million at 9 p.m. and an additional 300,000 at 10:30 p.m., according to Nielsen figures. Those numbers typically double over the next two to three weeks, however, when HBO tallies the cumulative audience for each episode.
By comparison, HBO’s most recent miniseries, seven-part John Adams, drew 2.7 million viewers with its first episode and settled into an average 2.3 million for each Sunday premiere. The average cumulative audience was closer to 5 million.
I’m a Thomas Jefferson man myself, but it is interesting that John Adams outdrew such a significantly hyped recent HBO effort. Generation Kill got almost as much ink at the Television Critics Association meetings as Mad Men. Tony Soprano and Carrie Bradshaw please come back!"
