Obama Calls for Race-Based Wealth Redistribution

This shouldn't surprise anyone: Barack Obama is floating a call for explicitly race-based coercive wealth redistribution, otherwise known as "reparations":

Sen. Barack Obama told a meeting in Chicago the U.S. should review how it can make amends for "offenses" committed during its history. […]
"I consistently believe that when it comes to whether it's Native Americans or African-American issues or reparations, the most important thing for the U.S. government to do is not just offer words, but offer deeds," he said.

Our "post-racial" candidate is testing the water to see if he could get away with openly expropriating money from Caucasians to pass out to his black supporters. This is how Zimbabwe is run.

Why not? The ideology of his "church" of the last 20 years is Afrocentric Marxism.

I wonder how much I owe Oprah Winfrey and Ludacris for oppressing them.

Clearly the point is not to sooth racial tensions, but to exacerbate them as much as possible so that they can continue to be exploited. Why not just run O.J. Simpson for president?

If this kook gets into the White House, we are headed for another civil war.

Should this surprise anyone? Obama for trying, the race baiters for asking, the guilt-ridden spineless, America hating white libs for wanting to? What WOULD be a big surprise would be for someone to ask for apologies and reparations from those who actually started the slavery ball rolling...other Africans who captured, then sold their the captives to the slave traders. How come we never hear anything about their complicity? I guess people just think the slave traders pulled their ships into African ports, and people wanting to be slaves just jumped on board! That makes about as much sense as holding America or white Americans responsible. But then, who is the easiest touch?

Native Americans and descendants of slaves have spent the last 140 years living in the most affluent and successful society the world has ever seen. How many European and Asian immigrants came over here with nothing and made a very good living? Millions! And these "wounded parties" that complain all the time had two advantages over the immigrants: they were already here, and they already spoke the language! No one forces the NAs to live on reservations - they can live anywhere they want. No one forces blacks to live in ghettos - they can live anywhere they want. True, it might mean getting good grades, holding down a decent job, and showing some responsibility, but all of that and more are available in the USA for anyone that wants them.

And if you want to talk about the breaches of civil rights and the Jim Crow laws, you can thank the Democrats for those. The United States is still the Land of Opportunity, and being citizens gives the complainers full access to that opportunity.

In short, we owe them nothing.

Reparations? OK, sure. But let's do a full accounting. We start with the assets deriving from slavery. Then we deduct the social costs of the liabilities arising from it: e.g., costs associated with welfare, crime, incarceration, inner city decay, drugs, prostitution, broken families, gangs, the lot.

Care to guess how much the difference would be?

I like the red star on Mugabe's necklace, or whatever that is.

A news item yesterday reported that Zimbabwe is dropping 10 zeroes off of its currency, so that 10 billion Zimbabwean dollars will now be 1 new Zimbabwean dollar. I guess the brothers are going to be getting pretty good at math, whether they want to or not!

This is pretty sick, now I was reparations for when the Romans along with the black Egyptian armies raided and enslaved England and Scotland. It... wounds me to know about this. Negroes and Italians both must pay me $85 per day for the remainder of my life if they want my forgiveness.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who see's an outright war in America if that idiot gets in office. No one is going to stand for that crap.

That's why it is really important that we all get our stoner friends off the couch and our relatives to the polls,,, we can't let Obama anywhere near the WH...

In the mean time, stock up on ammo and dry goods....

I love the line about giving money to Oprah and Ludacris. (and don't forget Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Michael Jordon, Tina Turner....they are really hurting for money, can't you see??) I wonder if Tiger Woods would be included since he's half-Asian. I guess he'll get half a check.

Will these "reparations" be for poor blacks only? What if a black person is wealthy and affluent already? What if he/she is middle class? Will they get reparations too?

I am a teachers (single) making a modest income. I really don't have much to share. And, when I donate to charities, I want the right to choose to whom I donate and how much!!

I just can't picture the reasoning behind taking money from me to give to others, against my will!! I worked for that money!! Well, I guess that is just liberal bulls--t. I really don't see how any rational, thinking, intelligent person could be a liberal.

No, actually, I think it would be a better idea to keep our stoner friends ON the couch, since most stoners would almost undoubtedly vote for Obama. You'd have to be on some really good stuff to think Obama would make a good Commander in Chief.
