Kwame Kilpatrick's Bond Revoked
Things aren't going well for Kwame Kilpatrick, who as mayor of America's most liberal city could be said to personify the politics of moonbattery:
DETROIT — A 36th District Court judge restricted Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick's travel and revoked his personal bond today during a bond hearing, one day after the mayor was accused of assaulting a detective.
The mayor, who was on a personal bond that did not require him to pay any money to the court, will now have to pay $7,500 in cash — 10 percent of his $75,000 bond — to stay free, Judge Ronald Giles, a 36th district court judge, ordered.
Mayor Kilpatrick has been out on bail after being arrested for perjury and other felonies related to a police whistle-blower trial last year. This time he's is in trouble for assaulting a Wayne County detective who was attempting to serve a summons to his friend Bobby Ferguson, a city contractor. The esteemed mayor threw him off a porch, possibly breaking his hip, and also indulged in shouting "obscenities and racial remarks."
But it's not all bad news for Kwame:
Kilpatrick will be allowed to keep already approved business travel, including attending the Democratic National Convention in Denver.
Kilpatrick — and moonbat-infested Detroit in general — represent a road we would be wise not to go down.

Hat tip: Michelle Malkin.

Unbelievable! I cannot believe the Major of Detroit would have this type of behavior. I think he should leave quietly in exchange for case to be dropped. This is the last thing Detroit needs when we're trying to build its reputation as one of the leading cities in the world. No one wants a Thug running anything! No one has to be physical unless playing sports, leave it on the field. I would have expected more from him, he seemed like he could have made a positive mark on this city he says he loves.

UN lectures UK on treating Muslims better. No comment from UN on how Christians are to be treated in Islamic countries.

Is anyone surprised that the donors to Kwame's legal defense fund owe a combined $820K in delinquent taxes?.

Granholm is a bigger embarassment than Mayor K. Most of all because she was actually voted in for a 2nd term.

If Osama, oops, Obama is elected, expect this AssHat to get a cabinet positon in the administration.
Obama will surround himself with these type of crooks using race to hide behind.

It's a method of survival: Surround yourself with big fat targets so they catch all the incoming flaming arrows...

That`s what I love about Moonbattery--the web site, not the practice--is that it`s such an endless source of humor.

Don't knock him - he makes other cities with problems look good.

What did you change recently at Moonbattery, Van? None of the post photos are displaying using the Opera browser now.

skh.pcola,
This sounds like a connection speed or network traffic issue. I didn't change anything, and the images are loading fine for me using Opera.

I am a native Detroiter and I watched the testimony during Mayor Kilpatrick's bond hearing. The two process servers went to the home of the mayor's sister to serve someone who does not live there and who has never lived. They checked the address in order to find out who owned the home and it was a different name than the person they were looking for. In addition, during the testimony, the two process servers gave two totally different accounts of what happened that day. One process server said the mayor lifted him up and threw him off of the porch; his partner said the mayor grabbed him by one arm and pushed him into her. This happened after the two people were told to leave several times because the person they were looking to serve did not live at that house. I also take offense to people who do not live in Detroit referring to my mayor as a thug. Mayor Kilpatrick was twice elected by the citizens of Detroit and for the first time this city has a balanced budget, there are new businesses coming to town. On Kilpatrick's watch we have hosted a Super Bowl, MLB Allstar Game, the men's sweet 16 and next year the Final Four will be in our city. We also have a new riverwalk, Quicken Loans is scheduled to break ground this fall for its new headquarters. So please, unless you know and are familiar with Detroit, please do not bash my city or my mayor.

mispinster,
I grew up in MI and live in one of the suburbs of Detroit and venture into the Motor City quite often.
Your mayor is a thug.

You are an idiot, Kawme is a complete laughing stock of not only Detroit, but also the country. Ignorance like yours is why Detroit is in the condition it is in. You've had crooks running the city since Coleman Young raped the city for 25 years. The only difference between Coleman and Kawme is he is to damn stupid to get away with it like Coleman did. You deserve the city and all it doesn't have to offer!!!
