God Sued
It was only a matter of time before people got the idea of suing God:
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A man says he was so consumed by the spirit of God that he fell and hit his head while worshipping. Now he wants Lakewind Church to pay $2.5 million for medical bills, lost income, and pain and suffering.
Fortunately the church has lawyers too:
Lawyers for the church say other congregants saw him on the floor laughing after his fall. They say he failed to look out for his own safety.
Liberals might want to drop their militant insistence on a spiritual vacuum. Imagine the loot they could have raked in if, instead of pretending Katrina was caused by global warming, they had called it an act of God and sued churches for damages.

Or maybe we compassionate conservatives could just pretend that Katrina wasn't even happening to justify a governmental and humanitarian vacuum.

Or maybe if you live in a city where you can look UP and watch a barge go by, you might think to yourself "I'd better have a plan in case that thing overflows!"

PabloD, couldn't agree more. Don't expect the Feds to bail out Florida every time it gets whomped by a hurricane -- yer 3 feet above sea level ferchrisake.
And you Oklahoma people -- HELL-O -- don't come whining every time one of yer towns gets whomped by a tornado -- you live in a place called Torado Alley ferchrisake. And you Midwesterners getting flooded out -- NO WHINING -- you live next to a big mother river ferchrisake.
Use some common sense or PabloD will kick yer ass.
