Feminazi Campaigns against Men at Work Signs

Multiply this story by a few billion, and it demonstrates what happens to all that money the government expropriates on the grounds that it knows how to spend it better than we do:

At the behest of PINK Magazine editor Cynthia Good, Atlanta officials are replacing "Men Working" signs with "Workers Ahead" signs. It seems "Men Working" is now deemed sexist.

Good began bellowing her demands after the police took issue with her vandalizing the signs by spray-painting "wo" before "men." Now she plans to take her campaign national.

Cynthia Good: Another pushy moonbat with too much time on her hands.

I'm not saying that women are unable to work in construction, I'm just saying that most women wouldn't, and therefore don't, want to work at a construction site.

Is that a wedding ring I see on her hand? Isn't that a sexist sign of subservient male oppression? Kind of like a sign saying "Man at Home"?

Posted by: Jimbo at July 10, 2008 10:30 AM

Watch any TV commercial sometime. The guy will be standing there trying to do whatever it is that relates to the product being sold. He'll look confused and offish. The woman will come and give him a "sigh...you're such a helpless idiot" look and save the day with "brand X". The man will then have the "Gee, honey! How'd you do THAT?" look. She pats his head as she shakes hers with a "Don't try and understand...it's beyond you" expression.

The media is right with the feminists who want everyone to understand that MEN ARE (at best) STUPID AND (at worst) THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL.

This goes on in schools, at the work place...pretty much anywhere the Nanny State and feminists can push the agenda.

This is no longer about equal pay or promotions based on ability or anything that actually is about fairness. This is about marginalizing men and male-ness, social engineering, re-arranging natural gender distinctions...a very dark thing.

It's the sign of a robust and successful economy when there are people like this that have nothing better to do with their time. Moonbattery is truly an indulgence only the rich can afford.

I mean, sexism is a bad thing and all, but come on.

This news wench used to be on channel 5 here in Atlanta but got booted after it became a Fox affiliate, at least that's how I recall it. She used to have black hair and dressed real upright conservative, Now as a career move it looks like she's latched onto the local feminst convoy. Perhaps she should get rid of the frilly pink blouse for a lumberjack flannel shirt, lose the makeup, sport a bleached blonde mullet, quit shaving her pits a legs and dawn a menstrual sponge and join The Indigo Girls in a drum circle hackey sack man hating session in Little 5 Points and then she'd have all the valid street creds.
Yeah right Cynthia, And when it's "people at work" instead of "men at work", both sexes will be equal and everyone will have a pet unicorn and we can all exist happily without conflict, in the meantime, iron my shirt!

Matt: You're absolutely right. Commercials, sitcoms, movies, you name it - the wife is the smart one, the husband is a dolt who can barely tie his own shoes, let alone make a major decision without destroying something. Equal rights, pay, promotions, and all of that was (and is) a noble cause, but it has indeed gone way beyond that. Men often have a hard time figuring out just what the hell they are supposed to do in a given situation, lest it be misconstrued as sexist or worse yet, harassment.

Harassment is another thing that makes my blood boil. Genuine harassment is a terrible thing and should not be tolerated, but harassment has been hijacked to mean anything that someone else doesn't like - the whole "right to not be offended" garbage we see today. There doesn't have to be any actual damage done - being "offended" is enough. The PC police will see to it that your reputation is trashed by merely being accused of this offense, and your company will drop you like a bad habit to avoid negative publicity and/or being sued.

I want my unicorn!

Posted by: Corona at July 10, 2008 12:00 PM

Let's see them do this commercial with the roles of men and women reversed.

We're all equal now, aren't we? No, your right: Some are more equal than others.

Posted by: Lyle at July 10, 2008 12:08 PM

So Corona, You want your unicorn well-done, medium or rare? I a nice recipe with unicorn wrapped in veal and broiled, kinda like a unicorn wellington turducket!

Why is she allowed to have a magazine FOR WOMEN ONLY? I guess only she's allowed to be SEXIST.

Women abusing men (ABC News Special)

Posted by: Anonymous at July 10, 2008 12:22 PM

Advertisers make women look smart because they are selling to women (and they can get away with it). They are aware that on average women control how the majority of household income is spent.

That's right, women control where most of the money goes, but they are economically oppressed. Pretty good trick there.

AoSHQ had an interesting post on Female Privilege yesterday. To cite one example:

If I become pregnant, I and I alone choose whether to terminate the pregnancy or have the baby. As a result, I can be reasonably certain that I will never be held financially responsible for a child I didn’t want to have, and that I will never have my unborn child aborted without my consent.

And another:

If I fail at something, I can go to college and study the historical forces and social constructs that make it harder for people like me. If others fail, it’s because they just don’t have what it takes.

If a woman has the fortitude to work in construction, a stupid sign is probably the last thing on her mind.

Posted by: lordsomber at July 10, 2008 2:20 PM

"Man", or "woman" is IDENTITY, "person" is generic. When the "Libbers" of the sixties demanded to be referd to as "persons", it was clear abandonment of the feminine culture and accomplishments.
But then again, they did "man-stuff' and thought that THEY were the first to do so, sither they were ignoring or were UNAWARE of women who had done great things before the Libbers were even born!

"Women are the primary consumers in the United States.

Women represent an economic powerhouse, making over 85% of the consumer purchases (in the United States) and influencing over 95% of total goods and services. Women's consumer spending is $3.7 trillion and business spending is $1.5 trillion. Women also purchase 50% or better in traditional "male" categories like automobiles, consumer electronics, and PCs."

http://www.inc.com/articles/2003/01/25019.html

Take a look at the Mall. 95% of it caters to Women. Drive around town ... society is for women.

USA is a Feminist Matriarchy. Any man that's been through Family Court knows that. It's waking other men up TO THIS FACT that's proven difficult. They usually have to get burned a few times before they get it.

The sad irony is that if more women worked in construction and roadworks, the feminazis would cry for justice against the discriminatory practise of subjecting women to hard labour and low pay.

"Cease all discriminatory work that differentiates between physical fitness levels!"

I wonder what Cynthia Good would make of this hard-hitting documentary on women in the construction industry:

Reverse Sexism is worse. In college, I never had anything to do with the women/girls who were into to "Women's Studies". I told one of them that I thought they should change it to "Embracing Victimhood and Excuse Making While Victimizing Men 101". She didn't talk to me much after that... just the way I like it! LOL!!!

What makes this particularly pathetic is that the mayor and city council of Atlanta are scrabbling to bridge a multi-million revenue shortfall in the city budget due to the softening of the economy. Layoffs are already in the works. The local paper (Atlanta Journal Constitution) was not very clear about how much the change to signage will cost, but in these circumstances why spend a damn dime on such trivia?

Posted by: RNB at July 10, 2008 7:30 PM

I wonder if this Mary Tyler Moore wannabe realized since women don't work in construction (that glass floor is so oppressive) there's no point in being inclusive of women. Which brings me to my point. Women are hypergamic in everything except intelligence. When feminists talk about equal rights for women (and men), they're not implying equality with their male peers, but their male mates. Instead of wanting to meet Prince Charming, they want to become Princess Charming. This new development is worse because you can't criticize women for having such unrealistic notions because doing so would be misogynistic.

And how about male nurses? Why don't we change that term. Men can't nurse with their breasts.

I'm gonna paint a big WO on WOmenstuation.

"And how about male nurses? Why don't we change that term. Men can't nurse with their breasts."

It's another rare occasion, Who's Yer, I agree with you! Let's call "male nurses" "oderlies" as they do in the military.

"I'm gonna paint a big WO on WOmenstuation."

OUCH!!
