Even Germans Raising Eyebrows over Obama
Regarding the Obamessiah's overseas media extravaganza, Britain's left-wing Guardian remarks:
Barack Obama has found his people. But, unfortunately for his election prospects, they're German, not American.
Why not? Germans invented socialism, and have spent two generations wallowing in the sort of ethnic guilt Obama is hoping to ride to the White House. But even among Germans, not everyone is buying:
The Hollywood-staged Obama event for a man who has yet to ascend to the presidency didn’t sit well with all the Germans. Germany’s Stern magazine carried the headline "Barack Kant Saves the World."
One of their columnists, Florian Güssgen, wrote: "The man is perfect, impeccable, slick. Almost too slick … Obama's speech was often vague, sometimes banal and more reminiscent of John Lennon's feel good song 'Imagine' than of a foreign policy agenda."
As for the allegedly massive crowds that watched Obama apologize for America at Hitler's seat of power, they were largely drawn by a free rock concert, and probably numbered closer to 20,000 than the often-repeated 200,000.

Obama really picked the wrong spot in Germany to hold a rally. Theres already a few equating his speach giving to Hitler's(both smooth talkers, charismatic, insperational, whip up a crowd, etc.)

That assumes he knows anything about history. Or cares. Which he doesn't. But you should. You should learn all about how the evil white man destroys everything he touches, how every important discovery was made by a black man and claimed by whitey as his own, and how his ascendancy to the highest office in the world is a just reward for the suffering of his people. Not that that lets you off the hook or anything.
History is written by the victors, and rewritten by the losers.

Speaking of rewriting history, German public television originally estimated that there were 20,000 people, not 200,000. The numbers were revised later?

I believe it was actually the French who invented modern socialism (when the French Revolution's 'Liberty, Fraternity, Equality' transmogrified, with the help of Fourier et al., into the Paris Commune, which inspired Marx).
So something else we can thank them for.

Having been to a few free rock concerts in the Tiergarten over the years, I'd have to say, if anything, what's remarkable is that Obama didn't draw more people than the average everyday crowd of beer drinking revelers who show up for whatever 80's hair band happens to be in town. 20,000 is what you get on a nice summer day without a band, and even the 200,000 lie that the media made up is nothing unusual if the music's good. Nobody in the media seems to have noticed this awkward fact. I was there in '04 on a business trip and got stuck having to cross some sort of Euro-bizarre gay pride event which had an estimated 800,000 people between the park and the Brandenburg gate. Obama gets 1/4 the audience of a bunch of gay s&m frieks.

Having been to my share of 80's hair band concerts, I'm amazed that nobody in the audience threw an empty Jack Daniels bottle at Obama or at least collectively boo him off stage (or both) for interrupting the show. Metal heads (who haven't sold out) generally aren't very trusting of politicians regardless of their political leanings.
