Enviromoonbats Target Concrete

Posted by Dave Blount at July 8, 2008 8:21 AM

Cement doesn't get noticed much, for the same reason fish probably don't notice water. As a main ingredient of concrete, it largely makes up the world around us. So naturally, moonbats are opposed to it:

The production of cement creates a lot of carbon dioxide, the gas scientists believe is causing the temperature of Earth's atmosphere to rise. The 11 cement plants in California produce about the same amount of CO2 every year as 2 million passenger cars driven on the state's roads.

Already the ominous Air Resources Board "has the cement industry in its sights." Various authoritarian measures that would have disastrous effects on California's already declining economy have been considered.

The harmfulness of CO2 is an unsubstantiated theory that was concocted and promoted for political purposes. Our need for concrete is, in a word, concrete. But that won't stop liberals from trying to mandate a world made out of hemp and bamboo.
