Democrat Fat Cats Avoid Gas Tax
There is a time when even Democrat big wigs don't like taxes — namely, when they themselves have to pay them. Fortunately they have been spared the unpleasantness of paying gas taxes as they begin to gather in Denver to coronate the boy socialist Barack Obama, who calls granting normal Americans a reprieve from the gas tax "a gimmick." From the Rocky Mountain News:
The committee hosting the Democratic National Convention is using the city's gas pumps to fill up on fuel, avoiding state and federal highway taxes, officials said today.
The Obamessiah has been too busy preening on his media tour to comment on how much he likes this neat gimmick.
As for the little people:
In Colorado, consumers pay 40.4 cents in taxes on every gallon of gasoline. That includes the federal gasoline tax of 18.4 cents per gallon and the Colorado gasoline tax of 22 cents per gallon.
Enjoy your current level of taxation while you can, Coloradans. If Dems take over the White House, it will be rising sharply.

Waste, Fraud and Abuse. Any citizen can levy the charges............
I guess there are not any 'Citizens of the USA' left in MoonBat Denver.
Denver will suffer in the long term $$$ convention and other revenue from conserative boycotts, individuals, or as groups, for not forgiving the MoonBattery of Denver.

The practice, which began four months ago, may have ended hours after its disclosure. An aide to Mayor John Hickenlooper released a statement Tuesday evening saying that Denver 2008 Host Committee members would pay market prices for fuel and would also be liable for all applicable taxes.
I'm sure it is just a simple misunderstanding. Now that they are caught with their hands in the cookie jar, they will simply say they thought "cookie" meant "all you can eat." Then they'll reach into their money chests and pay the back taxes to make it all better.
If only robbing a bank had so few consequences.

Yep. Again, don't hold your breath waiting for any actual consequences. City workers get fired all the time for these kind of shenanigans- some even get prosecuted. Ain't gonna happen this time. Local TV and the Post/News are all transparetly in the bag for BH Obama.

The Dimmocratic Congressional Leadership must of promised him way too much US Tax Subsidies (your money) now that he is promoting his need to build ‘free energy wind power.’ Wind power is one of the least cost effective ways to go, but the Demo Lobbiest are showering the cash anyway. Follow da money.
