Critical Mass Riot on Wheels Attacks Another Motorist
It looks like President Obama might be able to put some teeth into his energy policy, which consists mainly of making taxpayers finance more bike paths. The moonbat equivalent of Brownshirts have been assaulting people for traveling by car instead of by bicycle like the Third-World communist peasants they would like us to be.
Seattle police said they were still looking today for one of a group of Critical Mass bicyclists who attacked and injured a driver during a violent altercation on Capitol Hill Friday evening. Two other bicyclists have been jailed.
As always when sanctimonious Critical Mass hooligans attack motorists, they are claiming it's all the victim's fault. The police seem to disagree.
Just after 7 p.m. Friday, the group of at least 100 bicyclists was moving en masse down East Aloha Street when a man and his girlfriend in a Subaru station wagon tried to pull out of a parking spot, said Seattle police spokesman Mark Jamieson.
For years, Critical Mass has held monthly public bike rides through Seattle to demonstrate for bicyclists' road rights.
According to Jamieson, as the Critical Mass group moved down the street, blocking traffic, some riders got in the way of the Subaru and prevented it from leaving. Some bikers sat on the car and were banging on it, he said.
"The driver was pretty fearful that he was about to be assaulted by the bicyclists," Jamieson said.
The terrified driver tried to back up, handing the moonbats the pretext they appear to have been fishing for.
Several of the bikers bashed up the Subaru, shattering the windshield and rear window, Jamieson said.
The driver tried to drive away, but hit another bicyclist, Jamieson said. Still, he drove about a block, to the corner of Aloha and 15th Avenue East, before the Critical Mass riders cornered the car again and started spitting on it and banging against it.
One bicyclist punched the driver through his open window, and another used a knife to slash the Subaru's tires, Jamieson said.
The driver got out of his car, and was hit in the back of the head, opening a large gash.
Sounds familiar, doesn't it? Incidents like this may become more familiar soon, as likeminded leftists consolidate control of the government.

Just what we need... militant hippy bike riders. LOL
I would not have been as kind as the Suburu driver was... I'm sure I would've ended up charged with several counts of vehicular manslaughter in my escape from the violent asshole bikers. About the time they broke my windshield I would be bashing the car back and forth to clear a path and I would run over any idiot who tried to stop me with his body too. I'm not letting any one victimize me when I have a weapon as powerful as a car, haha.

Critical Mass meet Mr. Snowplow.

No no no, you don't understand. These people stand for love and peace and a wholesome environment...and if you get in their way, they'll STOMP YOU ASS INTO JELLIED MADRILENE!

Not that you guys seem too likely to care based on your attitude, but the police account is not what happened. It was my first time riding in critical mass, and I was next to the cyclist who got ran over. The first act of violence was the car driving forward into two cyclists in front of him. Before that there was only a war of words.
It was an ugly incident on all accounts -- a cyclist underneath a car and the car driver getting beat up afterwards were not fun to watch.

Sounds to me like the Subaru driver was the one who assulted the bicyclists. There was a group of 100 bicyclists moving down the street when the Subaru tried to pull out. Would the Subaru driver have expected he could pull into a group of 100 moving cars without consequence.
Idiot.
And trying to tie this to an Obama energy policy? Sorry, but you're reaching, boys.

I always thought hippies were peace loving, stinky little creatures. Now that they have bikes, I guess they've run amok. Next thing you know they'll have leather jackets with their own bicyclist logos sewn on the back.
Put it in drive, step on the gas. That's all I have to say. It's gotta be self defense.

Sure you were, Ryan, it is totally believable that someone would deliberatly drive into a mass of petulant children on bicycles.
A cyclist "unerneath" a car - please - Subaru's aren't exactly known for massive ground clearance, yet to be "underneath" and no injuries reported ? Rather odd that.
Here is a clue for you, he had every right to be on the same street as you jerks - you fools don't automatically have the right of way. "Share the road" my ass, you want it all, all the time. From the way that I have seen you infantile pukes ride, I have no doubt that that the incident was prevoked - as have been many others.

There's two big holes in Ryan's "version" of events.
1. There's no report that the driver of the car was cited for anything, as would be the case if he had deliberately run over a cyclist.
2. The egomaniacs of Critical Mass love to video their escapades and post them on YouTube, however, no video of the incident has been forthcoming.

Ryan,
The first act of violence was when these fascist thugs tried to impose their will on other people.

Some of the problems are caused by "mob mentality". The mob is driven by people with bicycle shorts that are too tight, wherein the blood flow is shut off to their brains seated upon the bicycle seat.
The streets of our urban centers are not designed for en masse bicyclists that sometimes ignore such things as traffic signals, traffic rules, etc., because they feel superior and protected in their rolling mob.
It is akin to a jogger that runs in front of your car because he/she "didn't want to break stride". They call it a "runner's high", but there are other words for it.
With the popularity of the Tour de Georgia, even in exurban areas and some rural areas, we are seeing growing groups of bicyclists numbering one to two dozen. Just when you think they are lined up single- or double-file and it is safe to pass them, one will whip out to pass another. And you have to allow for a "scatter zone" while passing, in case they crash into each other and wipe-out. I have seen it happen. One or more bicyclists glances over their shoulder to check out the car(s) and someone zigs or zags in front of them and you get a chain-reaction. As I am not a "butt person", I know that the view in single-file is not great, but it provides a greater measure of safety for everyone.
Is it ignorance or is it daring the car driver to "hit someone"?
A few weeks ago in the North Georgia mountains, I saw a close call between a motorcycle (that was going too fast) and a group of bicyclists. Because I was in the opposing lane, the motorcyclist had to slow down more than he wanted when he ran up on the bicyclists. Each group carried their own moral superiority into a place with no road shoulders nor grassy rights-of-way.

I agree rocks, the mob mentality is bad news - especially when the mob is made up of people who are self-righteous moonbats.

The driver says --
“I sympathize with [cyclists’] cause. I ride bikes too. I’m a liberal hippie democrat,” he says, adding “I’m gay, the person with me was a lesbian and we were a attacked by eco-terrorists. It’s the most Seattle thing that could have happened."
So, I guess we now have to consider this a case of douche-on-douche violence.

So Ryan was in his first critical mess, huh? How freaking nice. I know critical messers from San Francisco. They're goons looking for trouble. They worship chaos and anarchy. They are critical idiots who need the crap slapped out of them. Their purpose in to cause gridlock. Not only do they block normal traffic, they block emergency vehicles - one person dies because an ambulance can't get through - you can add "murderers" right after the apt description of dipshits.

The obvious question: How come cyclists don't have to buy a tag for their bicycle? They use the roads like any other vechicle. You have to buy a tag for a trailer, a boat, a motorcycle, a tow dolly. If cyclists want the same rights as cars, they can pony up some $$$ just like cars. In the mean time they can shut the fuck up and get the hell outta the way of those who do pay. Here in my part of Atlanta they made bicycle trails and these sissy tight spandex filthy cocksuckers after bitching about no bicycle trails still won't use them.
Posted by: Bryherb at July 28, 2008 10:34 AM
CA just passed a law where bicycles don't have to actually stop and act like a motor vehicle at intersections. Not that they did so consistently before.
Expect a lot more dead bicycle riders in CA as the illegal immigrant driving population continues to grow. Both tend to be a mennace and cause lots of unsafe situations.
And in CA, no matter how safe you are driving, if one of these two groups plows into you, you are going to pay. That is how the courts see it here. Only law abiding insured motorists get cited in CA.
Posted by: Oiao at July 28, 2008 10:42 AM
1. Bicycles DO HAVE TO STOP at lights and stopsigns, just like cars..not just in CA, but in WA, and OR.
2.The douchebags on here saying "the cyclists were angels and the driver was completely wrong" are, quite simply (As critical mass constantly does) lying through their disengenuous teeth.
3. Critical Mass has A HISTORY OF SURROUNDING MOTORISTS AND ATTACKING THEM!!! INcluding this elderly couple, with handicapped plates, who were terrorized by CM recently in San Fran:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1eReGrbzkA
They are a mob who has noting at all to do with cycling. They lie and manipulate. Watch the vid.

Organizations like 'Critical Mass' are why I could never live in a large city. In large cities, the Massholes always find a way to get together and make life miserable for everybody. In small towns in the country, you only have to deal with Massholes one at a time, which is somewhat easier.

If I may sum up our arguments:
1. Bicyclists are evil murderous road hogs.
2. The right hand lane and the bike lane shoud be combined into a "Hummer lane".
3. Get the hell out of my way! It's MY road, dammit!
4. Here in my part of Atlanta they made bicycle trails and these sissy tight spandex filthy cocksuckers after bitching about no bicycle trails still won't use them. (posted by Bryherb)
5. Anyone who disagrees with us deserves to die.
Selfish? Selfish is us.
Posted by: roadrager at July 28, 2008 4:45 PM
Toad Dragger, Let me correct you:
1. Some bicyclists have the eco-elitist attitude and ruin it for the rest of them.
2. The right lane is rarely used by those eco-elitist snatchbite bicyclists so they can force their moonbattery on us motorists.
3. It is the automobiles road because they have purchased car tags, buy a fuckin' bike tag and pay into the road taxes and then you can use it.
4. Tell me where I'm wrong on #4. hop on your training wheeled bike and ride down to my neck of the wooods and I'll show you first hand.
5. Your #5 pretty much sums up the beliefs of critical mass. As a motorists I'm very cautious around bicyclists because I'm sure even if it's their fault in an accident, I'm sure I'll get blamed because I'm the evil gas burnin' eco-destroying oil consumin' motorist.

Dare I say that the chest beating motorist posters on this board and the bicyclists that give bicyclysts a bad name are BOTH self righeous twits.
Neither parties involved in this incident were innocent victims.
Please, move on once your collective twitchy-fits subside and blood pressure returns to a nominal level.
