Chic Seattle Toilets Hit eBay

Remember Seattle's $5-million toilet misadventure? Replacing affordable portable toilets with extravagant self-flushing super-crappers actually resulted in even more bums defecating in the streets. They cost $360 per day just to maintain, and soon had to be closed down after they became clogged with trash, both literally and figuratively, only drug-dealers and prostitutes being able to find a use for them. Soon all Seattle residents will have to remember the toilets by is the extra charge that was added — evidently permanently — to their sewer bills to pay for them.

Now one of these historic toilets can be yours. In a half-hearted attempt to cut the taxpayers' massive losses, bureauweenies are selling them on eBay with a starting bid of $89,000 apiece. This is a remarkable bargain, considering what the city paid for them. Yet so far there have been no takers.

Hmmm, for $89,000, I can have a filthy toilet that's been used by homos and hookers. I'm gonna pass on that one. Maybe someone else'll be interested, though...

$89,000? Maybe Obama could buy them and use them in Denver so when the riots break out, led by the Recreate 68 fanatics, we can get some pics of them on fire.

The Seattle taxpayers must be thrilled.

Is this Cash And Carry? Wasn't part of the original cost the use of the citys' water main and sewer system?
