Bureaucrats Forbid Parent from Accompanying Sick Child
The expression "like carrying coals to Newcastle" needs an update; soon people will be saying, "like bringing moonbattery to Britain." Here's still more:
Accompanying her son to school is no routine family chore for Jayne Jones — it is a matter of life or death.
For 14-year-old Alex is severely epileptic and only his parents know how to operate the specialist equipment to help him if he suffers a life-threatening fit.
But that has not stopped Mrs Jones being barred from travelling in the taxi provided by the council to take Alex the five miles to school. Her offence? Not to have had a Criminal Records Bureau check.
Mrs Jones, 41, has fallen foul of the council's policy which considers anyone travelling with the teenager to be working on its behalf and, therefore, obliged to have CRB clearance.
Now Alex, who has cerebral palsy, must travel alone until his mother passes the police check.
It's for bureaucrats to decide when parents may be granted the privilege of accompanying their own children on the way to their leftist brainwashing sessions. As for the threat to Alex's life, why would authorities want him to grow up to be a burden on the socialized healthcare system?
On a tip from Lyle.

I am in a very similar situation right now.
I am awaiting an adoptive placement. The hold-up? One of my earlier adoptions turned 18 earlier this year. And they won't place a child in the home without an FBI background check on him, which will, of course, show nothing because he's been 18 less than six months.
How stupid is that? Now, instead of having the child over the summer so he can settle in, he won't be placed, if at all, until the school year starts, which will be added levels of aggravation for everybody.
And I don't dare complain about it, because caseworkers hold all the power.
Obama wants this vision to apply in every aspect of your life.

Anyone traveling with him working on his behalf? It's his mother, for God's sake! The law means non-relatives, dummies! Just when I think it can't get any stranger in Britain, I'm proven wrong.

V the K,
Is homeschooling an option for you? Some states are homeschool friendly, some are not. Is your wife up to it? Are you? If so, the rewards are countless.

Home school isn't the issue yet, but it probably will be.
