Funny how "sex education" in schools did not exist in our national history until approximately the same time as the rampant promiscuity and teenage preganancy now occurring. I doubt the relation is a causal one; they are both effects, of depraved 60's-hippiedom. But to claim that more school sex education will somehow lower teenage pregnancy rates when ALL the data points otherwise is statistical corruption and fraud.

seriously, read the Sowell book - you will not be disappointed. My wife handed it to me when I asked for the 1000th time "Do liberals REALLY believe they're saying?" Sowell answers the question and explains why liberals believe what they do. Written in 1994 and yet it reads like the story of the Obama campaign - talks about the "change" fetish and all that stuff. Really sheds light on how old and tired all the Obamaton marxist dogma truly is.

I don't have a problem with early sex education for children if it's done right. Kids need to know this stuff before they are able to actually get pregnant and/or infected with STD's.

I do have a problem with telling children at a very young age that homosexuality is as normal as heterosexuality because I don't believe that to be statistically true. Doesn't seem right to promote lifestyles that most gay people would admit is an unhappy one.

And makeup on children just encourages pedophiles as I see it. They don't need to be encouraged.

HoosierArmyMom, there are loads of books written for the lefty moonbat market. Just look at all the books that Michael Moore (Or as I like to call him, "The blob") has churned out. To name just a few recent ones, there are a couple books by Obama, such as 'The Audacity of Hope,' and John Grisham's 'The Appeal' (I haven't read any of those, but I've heard that 'The Appeal' was basically a manifesto for the Democrat party, loaded with all of libs' favorite stereotypes).

As far as conservative books go, one that I'd recommend you look for in bookstores or order online (The latter would probably be the best idea, since I had a hard time finding a store that carried it) is 'Cry Wolf,' by Paul Lake. It's similar to 'Animal Farm,' in that it's a political fable about a farm which is controlled by the animals, but there are some notable differences:
1. Unlike the animals' revolt in 'Animal Farm,' the animals in 'Cry Wolf' peacefully inherit the farm when its kindly human owner Grover dies.
2. 'Animal Farm' was intended as an obvious allegory for Russia, whereas 'Cry Wolf' is an allegory for the U.S. and the U.K.
3. While 'Animal Farm' was intended as a critique of Communism, 'Cry Wolf' is a critique of identity politics, society's obsession with political correctness, and the big issue Lake goes after is the dangers of unregulated immigration, as the farm is slowly taken over by the wild animals who live in the surrounding forest.
Warning: 'Cry Wolf' is a VERY dark and disturbing book, especially towards the end, partly because of how much it is mirroring what Americans and Brits are going through today, and the direction we may be going if things don't change pretty quick. Still, I very highly recommend it, it's something all conservatives should read.

Thank Adam. I remember reading Animal Farm years ago and in my more liberal mindset... I didn't get it. LOL! Right now I'm spend most reading time on technical/job related stuff (which I hate) and prior to that I read Civil War history stuff. Now a days I am doing treatment for dry eye which affects my vision and reading print is rough. Otherwise, I would have my nose in a book 8 hours a day. My eyes are improving, but it's slow due to my being on a computer at work so much and reading technical stuff so much. I do like reading books that make me think in terms of the world around me more. I have thought about audio tapes since Freedom Talk was bought by a station that barely transmits to downtown Indy, and I have a good commute to work. :-) Getting older is a bitch!

Whoredom didn't exist -- or for that matter wasn't tolerated -- until the 60's sexual revolution. After that it was down hill from there. From what I witnessed in the 80's and 90's woman took this crap like a cat to catnip and a great many woman that I went to high school with are now my age (mid 30's) as either single moms or aging spinsters (i was class of 91). This sexualizing kids isn't new, if a child gets a hold of a porn magazine or video they get the general idea. You throw in hanna montana to the fray and you'll get pre-teens not even in the double digits with the idea that putting out gets them what they want in the short term. When I was younger I knew of a few females like that in catholic school, 2 of them to be exact who screwed around at age 8 and 9 (back in the mid 80s). I could only imagine them now being about 29 or 30 now hagged out from acting like little more than free sex dolls. You can thank moonbats for doing that, they obviously want that to become widespread for some reason that quiet frankly baffels the living crap out of me.

Sex ed in 12th grade:O.K. Sex ed in 1st:Powder keg. Ever notice how sex ed just teaches "safe sex" instead of Abstinence? Its like having the mindset "Well kids are gonna drink and do drugs anyway, so we might as well tell them the safest drugs or beer to consume." If state schools are to be atheist secular institutions, then parents should be given the opportunity to opt out of them completely, which is why I support vouchers. Even if it means some parents will use vouchers to put their kids into madrassahs, fine... we'll deal with that later. At least the children of Christian will be taught that their beliefs are worth fighting for.
