Black National Anthem Sung at Denver State of the City Address

It looks like there really are two Americas. Blacks have their own country, with its own national anthem, as Denver discovered when René Marie performed the Black National Anthem at an official city event yesterday.

At least one councilman was sane enough to object:

This is the State of the City address. It's not an NAACP convention.

Marie was invited by moonbat mayor John Hickenlooper, who says he thought she was going to sing the real anthem. But he also says:

She blended the two songs together. She was trying to make an artistic expression of her love for the country. She did not intend to make a political statement or anything.

Nah, no political statement here. Nothing but love for the country. The Dems have found the right mayor to serve as master of ceremonies for their convention circus.

The song known as the Black National Anthem is "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing," by James Weldon Johnson. Marie lifted her voice and sang the first verse, which ends on an ominous note about marching on "till victory is won," evidently over the white man.

If the militant, race-obsessed blacks who are on the verge of taking over the White House can have their own religion, why not their own national anthem?

Ms. Marie seizes an opportunity to stick it to Whitey.

Looks like she's about to go Gavin Newsom on that microphone.

Left-libs hate the national anthem. Mainly because it evokes history, and fighting for freedom against tyranny. Lefties hate that. They frequently advocate for replacing it with "America the Beautiful,' because that's about nature and stuff. It does, unfortunately, have the G-word in it, but "Gaia shed her grace on Thee" also works.

I prefer the Rev White/Alicia Keys duet of "God Damn America!"

If any other race besides black tried to pull an anthem for their race then heads would've rolled and the FBI would likely have to get involved.

Personally I am tired of the blacks being the "special" race. BET and NAACP are both racist and should be abolished and would be if it were any other race. Heck, they even get to have a special black-only Kwanzaa holiday that is now honored along with Christmas and Hanukkah. Enough is enough already.

God Damn America,

Land that I love (to hate).

Stand beside her, then undermind her

Thru the night while we fight al Qaeda.

From the oceans, to the prairies,

To the mountains, throw whitie from

God Damn America, My home sweet home.

Anon, that may just become the next greatest hit of the 21st century! Although I would change the last line to "God Damn America, my f***ing home." The word "sweet" just doesn't quite fit.

Maybe the Dixie Chicks or Sheryl Crow will record it.

At least the guy in the red tie is not holding his hand on his heart. "Artistic expression" for a ceremony, no political statement? Yeah, I'll try to do my own interpretation of military ceremony at the next change of command and use that excuse when I'm standing in front of the Sergeant Major shortly before he puts his boot up my ass.

"...til victory is won..."

Special groups, special award ceremonies, special networks, VERY special treatment which is more like "worship" than "treatment"...and even at this, they see fit to encroach on others' groups/ceremonies/treatment, and suffer no repercussions for it. Good grief- what more could they possibly want?

I agree, "victory" could only mean enslavement or elimination of the white man.

My same comment Eoin - is that idiot too dense to understand that is the custom for the national anthem or does he think you do that for anything? What a douche.

I guess we know who'll be doing the singing at Barack Obama's inaugural...

I suggest using this as lyrics for the National Anthem:

And where is that band
who so vauntingly swore?

That the havoc of war
and the battle's confusion

A home and a country
should leave us no more!

Their blood has washed out
their foul footsteps' pollution.

No refuge could save
the hireling and slave

From the terror of flight,
or the gloom of the grave.

And the star-spangled banner
in triumph doth wave

O'er the land of the free
and the home of the brave!

The "black national anthem" was created durring the radical sixties.
I was born in the fifties and remember the last half of the "civil rights movement" and I can tell you that it was about CONFRONTATION to provoke "whitey" to throw a punch at the "oppressed minority".
I remember when "black" was an insult, so they started calling themselves "black", just as their sons and daughters later called themselves "nigger". One tactic spun off from this was for them (Often two or more) to confront a white person and demand "am I black or colored?", no matter what label you chose, it was wrong and you would be lucky to get off with a few insults. At first I said "this is America, you can be anything you want to be". but I quickly learned that it was more effective to SCREAM "I don't give a damn!" right in their faces.

Yet another reason to vote for Senator John McCain. Former Hillary supporter, Barbra Streisand now endorses Barack Hussein Obama: http://blogs.reuters.com/fanfare/2008/07/01/barbra-streisand-backs-obama/.

Add that endorsement to backing from pro-abortion groups, the LGBT (Lesbians, Gays, Bi-sexuals, Transgendered) lobby, Reverend "God Damn America" Wright, Tony (Criminal) Rezko, Bill (Terrorist) Ayers, and every left wing kooky group out there and it's become crystal clear to all but the terminally obtuse that this guy makes George McGovern look good!

This election is developing into a test of H.L. Mencken's thesis that you can never go broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people. Should Obama ever become President of the United States, I'd have to say Mencken was right.

I'm praying he was wrong.

I'm laughing my butt off, but it is really so true it is tragic! It will probably make the top of the charts with all the ObamaBorgs out there.

Of all the disturbing news of the day, I actually believe this takes the cake. A good mayor would have had her microphone cut off - or jerked it from her hand and done his or her best to sing the Anthem themself.

It reminds me of when I was a kid - when Kruschev pounded the podium with his shoe my father lost all respect (if he ever had any) for JFK. Dad said "A REAL president, a REAL man, would have walked up and decked the SOB on the spot." And my dad was a democrat at that point in his life. He quit the democrat party after 'Great Society' Johnson - he couldn't take the bastards anymore.

Posted by: Jimbo at July 2, 2008 8:14 PM

And the more I consider it, the angrier I get. To put race ahead of country is as absolutely low as it gets.

This country has made her and like bastards among the richest people in the world. And this ungrateful bitch has the nerve to do this.

See what Yomama is spawning?

Get used to it, boys and girls. The ungrateful falsely believe they have it bad - wait until they're be decapitated for not toeing the muslim line. Freaking idiots - cut off the hands that feed them - freaking worthless ungrateful welfare idiots.

Zebra: The True Account of the 179 Days of Terror in San Francisco by Clark Howard.

Anyone remember that? Took place in the early 70s when some of the oppressed minority that Kharn at July 2, 2008 2:02 PM talked about, went on a killing spree against whitey. We hear constantly about some aged Ku Klux Klan guy getting put on trial for civil rights violations from back in the 60s or so, but for some reason that incident never gets mention nor do we hear anything of a movie being made of it, least it be showing how deserving whitey was to be killed. We never hear about the yaweh ben yaweh cult in south florida who wanted the head of whitey and ordered killings either. Matter of fact, I think the cult head is a free man now. Compare that to say George Loeb who was convicted of killing a black sailor in the early 90s. The guy he killed came back with reenforcements and a brick to beat the sh*t out of Loeb, yet loeb was sentenced to life in prisonment in Florida. You can find a video of the case on youtube (where I found it) it was a court TV aired case. http://youtube.com/watch?v=X_SUgbUtVg4

I really must say I am not shocked to hear that so many of you out of work, under-sexed or homosexual, conservative, crackers feel she did something wrong. We Blacks don't want to take over the country, we just want to be treated fair and have the same opportunities as whites. So if that means we have to crash a few parties, then we got to! Get over it! Either pick up a gun and start the race war, or shut the F#$k up! Quit being cowards and hiding your racist feelings behind a keyboard. You work with us, live by us. watch us play sports, and hate our guts? If you don't like me, be a man about it and say so to our faces. We can except that. What we can't except is cowards like you.
