BHO's Initial Response to 9/11
The New Yorker's lengthy new piece on B. Hussein reveals his initial reaction to September 11. In a speech given a few days after the horrific terrorist atrocities, Obama makes excuses for the perpetrators, comes to the defense of Muslims, and implies that more American taxpayers' money should be flushed down the Middle East and showered upon people throughout the world to whom it doesn't belong:
The essence of this tragedy, it seems to me, derives from a fundamental absence of empathy on the part of the attackers: an inability to imagine, or connect with, the humanity and suffering of others […which usually…] grows out of a climate of poverty and ignorance, helplessness and despair. […]
We will have to be unwavering in opposing bigotry or discrimination directed against neighbors and friends of Middle Eastern descent. Finally, we will have to devote far more attention to the monumental task of raising the hopes and prospects of embittered children across the globe — children not just in the Middle East, but also in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe and within our own shores.
These are not quite the priorities you would look for from a chief executive while this was still smoking:

Some will remember how humiliating it was to have the useless liberal rag Jimmy Carter in the White House when Iran invaded our embassy. The sniveling socialist post turtle Obama impersonating a President when the next 9/11 is inflicted will be a thousand times worse.

"...devote far more attention to the monumental task of raising the hopes and prospects of embittered children...within our own shores." Barack Hussein Obama
Sounds like the "campaign strategy" he's been using to get the Obamanist's assimilated.

It sounds like, in the aftermath of 9-11, Hussein would have sent thousands of 'community organizers' into Iraq, Afghanistan, and Somalia.
Come to think of it... not a bad idea.

No, dipshit, it doesn't. The absence of empathy derives directly from the evil indoctrination camps knowns as Wahhabist madrassas wherein children are brainwashed to hate everyone who's not a Muslim and to believe that murder is the only proper response to us subhuman infidels.

So if poverty and ignorance cause terrorism, the answer is to redistribute American wealth overseas. I got it. Expand the war on poverty by taking it global. May a thousand South Chicagos bloom around the world.

Obama's response seems even tempered, rational, and humane.
What did we get for your leader? "we gonna smoke 'em outta der holes" kind of crap, which by the way, never happened.
Osama Bin laden is still a free man, Al Quaeda has a greater profile then ever, and we are caught in a quagmire of a war based on a series of lies and misinformaton in a country that had not ONE DAMN THING to do with 9/11.

Living in a cave and worrying where the next bomb will fall is the definition of "a free man"? Boy anon you must have just graduated from Yale. That would be the Yale school of Moonbattery.

For those who think Saddam Hussein was no threat - it was reported that Putin of Russia told the US Hussein was looking into a way of attacking the US. Putin still opposed go into Iraq allegedly because Saddam had done nothing---YET. Oh yeah, wait until Saddam does it then go after him. Of couse Putin isnt an American and he had cut deals with Saddam to pump his oil - which was his real reason for opposing action in Iraq.
The Ministry of Truth still hasnt revised all the history on the net - YET.
http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/europe/06/18/russia.warning/
"MOSCOW, Russia (CNN) -- Russian intelligence services warned Washington several times that Saddam Hussein's regime planned terrorist attacks against the United States, President Vladimir Putin has said.
The warnings were provided after September 11, 2001 and before the start of the Iraqi war, Putin said Friday.
The planned attacks were targeted both inside and outside the United States, said Putin, who made the remarks during a visit to Kazakhstan.
However, Putin said there was no evidence that Saddam's regime was involved in any terrorist attacks."

Farmer Ted, how do you know that's where bin laden is? Seriously? how do you know that? I don't think anyone is looking for him. the prez said some time ago that he dosen't even think about him that much anymore. he sure ain't in Iraq if that's what you are suggesting about baomb's falling. Where are we bombing looking for him? Why would he be scared of the bombs?
For all you know, The bush family has him living in their attic.
Anon above----How can you claim Putin as a credible source on one statement and then smash his credibility in the next. You chose to believe one of Putin's statements because it fits an opinion you already had. Then you discredit Putin as a liar in the next. If Putin is a liar how can you trust anything he says? God, i can't believe I even have to tell people this.
Is Putin a liar or is he a trustworthy source?

There is so much information out there that demonstrates Saddam supported Al Qaeda and gave them a place to run training camps and then there is the major tonnage of "yellow cake uranium" that was siezed in 03 from just outside Baghdad, of which the Canadians just reciently took possession of... and the testimony of Iraqi civilians who had family members tortured and killed during his regieme. But of course looking up this information is probably not on your "things to do list" because it would mess with your implanted belief system.
Keep in mind, I am no fan of Dubya, I don't believe the war has been managed well, but I blame the liberals in Congress too, for playing politics with the welfare of the troops and the purpose of the war as well. You are right on one thing. Bin Laden is still out there, and he shouldn't be. Clinton should have taken custody of him during his administration when he had the chance!

grows out of a climate of poverty and ignorance, helplessness and despair
Standard Marxist analysis: economics drives all behavior. Osama bin Laden has more money than all of us on this site put together, and many of the 9/11 terrorists had advanced degrees.
Bonus question: what sort of training, education, financial aid, or hugs would have dissuaded kamikaze pilots? Some actions are motivated not by economics, but by philosophy and/or religion.

This goes to the heart of modern liberalism.
The idea that "poverty and ignorance, helplessness and despair" somehow is the root cause of terrorism. But that's completely false. The breeder of terrorism is and always has been ideology.
You don't specifically hate Jews because you are poor, but because you are taught to hate Jews. You don't have some innate desire to blow up children because you are hungry but because you're taught to blow up children.
And that crap about "raising the hopes and prospects of embittered children across the globe", that's just bleeding heart liberal BS! All sides want to help the children, and conservatives have a far better track record in doing so. He just throws in something about "children" to flower up the speech.
You really want to help the children? Give them a free country with free information and the freedom to learn for themselves and decide for themselves.

Anon(troll),
I would venture to say that OBL is living in a cave in Northern Pakistan. Remeber Pakistan's leader gave the northern territiries to AQ. It's well known that he does venture in Afganistan but when our boys get too close he scampers back into Pakistan. Personally I'd love to see Northern Pakistan turned into a glass factory. Oh by the way troll is OBL living in your mommie's basement with you?

How the hell many times must I remind you stupid Liberal dimwits that Sadaam had REPETEDLY VIOLATED INTERNATIONAL LAW AND THE TERMS OF THE GULF WAR'S CEASE-FIRE? How many UN mandates were issued, fourteen or seventeen? I forget. Seems we were pretty damn paitent with him since Sadaam had made fools of the international community for OVER TEN YEARS.
But let's ignor all that, let's hear what you LIBERALS will do to stop the MUSLIM INSANITY. I'm not joking, I really want to know what your plan is.

Well I'm no leftie and my plan is simple. Stay ARMED.... and watch your back. Be ready to improvise. Oh and keep a bottle of pig fat around. HEHEHE
