Socialized Medicine Report
There is one nice thing about socialized medicine: it guarantees there will always be outrageous lunacy to report. The latest:
A pregnant woman was forced to give birth in a hospital corridor after being turned away from two hospitals when she went into labour. Humilated new mother Emma Johnson gave birth in a hallway at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath, West Sussex. She plans to make an official complaint to NHS bosses after being turned away from two hospitals by staff who claimed there were "no beds available".
But that's not the crazy part. What's truly insane is that even after watching Britain and Canada jump off the cliff by socializing medicine, America may follow suit.
As a small child could understand, when an autocratic government sets an artificially low price on a valuable and limited commodity, the supply will disappear. This is why socialized medicine does not and could not possibly work. It's also why calls by Democrats to control gas prices not by drilling for oil but by nationalizing the energy industry is such good news to anyone nostalgic for horses and buggies.

On a tip from mandy.

My question is how could any intelligent person who's ever had an interaction with a government agency (for example, the DMV) ever think that letting them run health care would be a good idea?

How could anyone think Government run healthcare is a good idea? Lots of weed, drugs and alcohol.

Haywards Heath is a nice little hamlet not too far away from London by train - I'd visited a (moonbat) friend of mine there in 2001. How truly weird to have seen that name again in the context of socialized medicine lunacy.

Most repellent about these practiced parasites and their socialistic parasitic programs, is that they parasitize systems that were made by earlier generations who were a lot smarter, a lot more competent, a whole lot more ethical, and probably prettier.

everyone's seen this story of moonbat culture careening out of control, yes?

And in Oregon, Oregon's health program pays for physician-assisted suicide, but not for life-saving drugs.

I think that we're heading more toward a bicycle and scooter culture. Thanks to liberals, someday it may be difficult to tell the difference between 1960's China and the future America. That's what liberals want. Horses and Carriages will be for the rich, since liberals will naturally tax to death hay and alfalfa, and they'll limit where it can be planted while forcing farmers to use green means to grow and cultivate it. Ah hell....Let's just go all the way and become CAVEMEN!
Oh I forgot.........No open fires!

At least when we are pushed back that far into past standards of living, the Liberals will ensure that you can marry the animal of your choice so that you will be warm at night.

Since Qatada claimed asylum in 1993, he and his family have already cost the taxpayer well over £1million and the bill will now rise dramatically.

Picturesque Gloucester, “America’s Oldest Seaport,” should now also be labeled “Home of America’s Dumbest Teens.”
Whatever their motivation, fast tracking to adulthood, looking for love and attention in all the wrong places, or just plain, old bubbling hormones, at least seventeen of Gloucester High School’s 1200 students—mostly sophomores—have intentionally gotten themselves with child. (http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20080620/pregnancy_pact_080620/20080620?hub=CTVNewsAt11)
In days of old, that was crudely labeled getting knocked up but these kids don’t see it that way at all. In the very bad old days, teens who had gotten pregnant were packed off to another locale—to a distant relative or a home for unwed mothers—and, if they returned at all, their young motherhood wasn’t advertised.
These Gloucester girls not only planned their pregnancies so they could raise their babies together but were disappointed if they weren’t impregnated and, no doubt, will try, try, try again. Those who did succeed were high-fiving one another in the halls of Gloucester High.
I served in the trenches of high school as a teacher for 28 years, so I know something of how these girls think, or used to know. Most are good kids, romantics to the core, infatuated with 13 year old Juliet’s affair with Romeo, somewhat distraught over their unfortunate denouement, who then went on their merry way, content with just being teenagers.
I’m also familiar with their teen angst but most lived through it.Today, they don’t all live through it....

There's a story on HotAir about how the Oregon system won't pay for cancer treatments, but it will pay for doctor assisted suicide.
