PETA Proposes Lobster Empathy Center
The moonbats of PETA have inoculated themselves from ridicule by pushing self-parody to the last extreme:
SKOWHEGAN, Maine — People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has sent a proposal to the Somerset County commissioners to lease their jail for the world’s first Lobster Empathy Center. […]
"A prison is the perfect setting to demonstrate how lobsters suffer when they are caught in traps or confined to cramped, filthy supermarket tanks," PETA wrote in a June 2 letter to the commissioners. "The center will teach visitors to have compassion for these interesting, sensitive animals while also commemorating the millions of lobsters who are ripped from their homes in the ocean off the coast of Maine each year before being boiled alive." […]
PETA said the center would feature interactive exhibits such as a human-size lobster trap where visitors can have their fingers wrapped in large rubber bands that will remain on for their entire visit.
"At that point, visitors can be moved to a small, filth-strewn glass tank where they will be crammed together and confined for up to an hour," the proposal states.
Sounds almost as fun as a ride on a New York subway.

On a tip from Nedyeh.

Cruel and unusual punishment! Prisoners eating prison food tortured by sight of lobsters which they cannot eat!
PETA tortures people!

Always loved a nice Maine lobster tail when I could get it.

Lobsters eat other lobsters. I hope PETA will be serving lobster in the empathy bin so the prisoners can really get the full experience. Free lobster ... they'd have a line out the door.

So, what are the guesses on how much liberal cultural arts grants they will get from the state and federal govt to support this MoonBattery?

In the words of Ingrid Newkirk, "A rat is a pig is a dog is a boy". Humans are the one, unnecessary species on the planet. WE are to feel guilty. WE are bad. WE are the cause of EVERY problem in the world.
What these radical idiots don't publicize too loudly is that they actually want to eliminate human life from earth, so GAIA can once again be paradise (for whom, I'm unclear. Polar bears, maybe.)
At every opportunity, these liberal, "environmental", secular progressives make sure that the message is clear: HUMANS (and especially white male, Christian or Jewish U.S. citizens) ARE BAD! Get in a lobster trap with your hands bound shut and FEEL THE PAIN. YOU ARE BAD!
This kind of thinking is why one can be totally, unreservedly pro late-term abortion, yet stage protests over the "torture and killing" of lobsters.
As crazy as this sounds, the never-ending repetition of this kind of stuff has an effect (just like the "Iraq quagmire" mantra or the "economy is in shambles" nonsense that has, in fact, swayed public opinion.). They know if said often and loudly enough, they can push their agenda. God help us!

How come it is not PFETOA?

The term MOONBAT and ASSHAT are interchangable. How long until the Moonbats change their mind and tell us eating poor defenseless bugs for protein is evil???

Hey, wasn't there a post earlier ago about how we should all be eating bugs? Because, entomologically, a lobster is just a really big underwater cockroach with claws....

Hey, I like riding the subway!
But this isn't the first time PETA has wanted to open an "empathy" project. Last year they tried to buy a lighthouse off of the Connecticut shore in Long Island Sound to house their "fish empathy project."
I wrote about it at the time: http://blogmeisterusa.mu.nu/archives/235071.php
Fish are "interesting, quizzical animals with unique personalities," you know. How can a fish have a personality if it isn't a person? But I digress.
Perhaps groups like PETA might think about starting a "Zimbabwe empathy project," where visitors would find out what it's like to be beaten up and/or killed by government thugs because you voted for the other guy, and starved to death because your president/dictator has given all of the previously fertile farmland to his pals, leaving a country that once exported food in desperate straits.
Naah. Zimbabweans are people, not fish or lobsters. Silly me.

Hehe. Just found this site but I'm happy to support any site that thinks PETA's a buncha loons and terrorists.
Personally, I don't eat lobsters, one because I don't like them and two because I don't much care for the way they're killed. But every time I hear from the PETA idiots I eat a little bit more meat. Wonder where they sell lobster around here?
A nice little expose:

A lovely organization that actually cares about animals and their owners. If you have any extra money, they're a good organization to support. They help defeat idiots like PETA:

The mentality that approves of boiling an animal alive will not be changed by groups like PETA doing dumb stunts. Stupidity from PETA just promotes stupidity, as evidenced in some of these posts. PETA can't seem to get a clue about this bc the organization is packed with liberals.
Lobsters are in fact highly evolved in their genus, have elaborate and extensive nervous systems and react negatively to adversive stimuli (i.e., they feel pain). I remember seeing a lobster writh and froth when an ignorant TA began a dissection without deep anesthesitization.
After all this time, PETA still doesn't seem to understand that drawing attention to the plight of food animals just provides a platform for people to behave stupidly. (Inevitable when there are so many drooling stupids out there.)

PETA forgot to mention how you will have your hands wrapped in rubber bands, just like lobsters.

I am a proud member of PETA
Not the one who favours lobster reeducation camps, I mean People Eating Tasty Animals!
Personally I cannot abide lobster - in my eyes it is a giant bug. I don't eat small bugs, why would I eat a freaking huge, scary one?
If you want to though, go ahead!
