Euroluddite Moonbattery Causes Headaches for Beekeepers

As you may have heard, many European moonbats regard genetically modified crops — a triumph of human ingenuity over hunger — to have political cooties. They have even inflicted starvation in Africa as part of their campaign to keep the Dark Continent in the dark regarding agricultural technology that could help feed its people. Now this absurd prejudice has led to hard times for beekeepers:

Bee-keepers in Germany are increasingly taking their buzzing charges on long commuter journeys to the pollen fields — in order to avoid genetically-manipulated (GM) corn which can contaminate honey.
The GM pollen collected by bees from GM corn makes the honey too GM for human consumption, and thus impossible to sell, with big fines and even prison sentences for those who break the rules.

Bureauweenies will put beekeepers in prison for up to three years if their bees stray too near to modern corn. The likelihood of any harm coming from "GM" honey is remote, but not as remote as the chances of any human endeavor escaping being made more difficult and expensive by meddling moonbats.

On a tip from forest.

Wouldn't it be nice if by "harm" they meant harm to a person or property that had to be proven in a court of law.

Never eat that crap! Slice open a tomato from manipulated DNA and look at the specks in there. What the hell is that?!

Nature provides most of the time but man lets man starve much more often. Point to any situation in the world at any time in history of prolonged hunger and you will see that it is true.

Also, who dares say what is healthy? Let them go tell nations whose diet is mostly rice that they have been unhealthy for the past few thousand years. Maybe that's why they kick our asses in all those athletic and intellectual competitions, eh?

Nothing that involves disturbing creation as God designed it is good. Every time man gets his paws into something that thwarts or drastically changes God's plan, it is a disaster.

rosie, just about every species of plant or animal that we eat has been altered by Man.

Yep, significantly altered. Wild forms of the crops we use are unrecognizable. Thousands of years of human selection and manipulation have made them useful - and I guess scary to some people - Boo!

Genetic manipulation of plants does decades of breeding and selection work in a matter of a few years of research - and sometimes not even that long. Not that it matters to the moonbats, who are afraid of their own shadows. I'm surprised they don't outlaw shadows, too, since they have a right to not be offended or frightened.
