Cuban Regime and MSM Still Exploiting Elian Gonzalez

Elizabeth Broton Rodriquez drowned during a desperate attempt to help her son Elian Gonzalez escape from the wretched communist slave state Cuba, so that he might grow up in wealth and freedom in America. Her sacrifice was in vain: the Clinton Administration abducted the little boy from the relatives who had given him shelter and offered him up to the totalitarian Castro regime, which has been exploiting him as a political pawn ever since — as have its fellow travelers in our leftist media.

A brainwashed Elian has now been inducted into the Young Communist Union. Here's how AP reported the delightful news:

Communist youth newspaper Juventud Rebelde quotes Elian Gonzalez as saying he will never let down ex-President Fidel Castro and his brother Raul Castro, who succeeded Fidel earlier this year. Now 14, Elian was 6 when Miami relatives lost their fight to keep him in the United States and he was returned to Cuba in mid-2000 with his father. Elian had survived a boating accident off the Florida coast that killed his mother, who was attempting to get to the U.S.

A boating accident. That's like saying the Germans who didn't make it over the Berlin Wall died in target practice incidents.

CNN was no better, playing along with the whole farce as if the kid had rejected freedom and wholeheartedly embraced slavery of his own free will — just as the MSM would have us all do.

Correspondent Shasta Darlington reported that

for most Cubans, it comes as no surprise that Elian Gonzalez joined the ranks of those young people who [are] most committed to Fidel Castro's revolution.

Kiran Chetry chirped that his inevitable recruitment into Cuba's version of Hitler Youth

does show a certain commitment to the revolution and to the party that not all youngsters have.

If communists ever seize power in America, they won't have to worry about subduing the media. It's already on their side.

I love it whenever I see an historic photo such as this reposted.

History will not be kind to these people.

WOOT!

1st!

Elian was an illegal alien and it's right that they sent him back. I only wish the govt did the same to the rest of the criminals who are living here illegally.

Kristy, hate to break it to you. According to the United States immigration policy, nearly all Cubans refugees are admitted to the US legally because they come from a Communist country.

So most of them are not illegal, they are just escaping from an evil communist dictator.

No man alive hates communism more than I do. However in this case, the boy's mother basically kidnapped him, which strikes a personal chord with me. It was the right thing to do returning him to his dad.

I get it about being kidnapped and deporting illegals. But...BIG NEWS FLASH...none of the 450,000 "anchor babies" born in the U.S. THIS YEAR or most of their 12,000,000 illegal alien parents are going to be deported. Certainly not at the point of a gun.

This was Clinton administration political B.S. They did about as much to truly enforce immigration laws and seal the border as they did to "break our addiction to oil" and introduce "alternative energy". (I guess Al Gore just hadn't gotten the word yet. Amazing what a fast conversion he had.)

Janet Reno just had a thing about pointing guns at children. Elian got off easy compared with the kids at Waco.

Posted by: V the K at June 17, 2008 11:01 AM

So did the U.S. military 'kidnap' all those kids from the children's prisons in Iraq?

I understand, really I do... she kinda 'unilaterally' took off with the kid, against the father's wishes? What were the father's wishes, exactly? Clearly he wished to be with his son... but was he willing to do anything to try to give his son a life worth living? Or was he content being (and letting his son become) a slavish automaton to the State?

I hesitate to call it kidnapping... I mean, it's one thing when Mom is crazier than a rat in a coffee can and just takes off with Junior for God-knows-why; another when she risks (and in this case loses) all to give her child a chance at something besides slavery.

Ah the memories of LITTLE ALIEN GONZALES. Now hes a commie just like his daddy!

Posted by: Anonymous at June 17, 2008 11:23 AM

At the time this happened I remember supporting the decision, not having all the facts. The media at the time basically reported it as a kidnapping of the kid by his relatives. I still trusted the media back then.

I should be having a BBQ. Stupid cold weather. Where's the global warming gone?

Posted by: Archonix at June 17, 2008 11:51 AM

Algore's been awfully quiet lately, Archonix, which may explain the lack of warm weather. His hot air certainly contributes to gloal heat waves!

Poor Elian...another embarrassment to chalk up to Clinton's AG. And who is surprised that he is parroting the party line down in the Communist paradise known as Cuba? Even if he doesn't believe what he's saying, he knows enough to keep his trap shut, especially considering his "celebrity status" as a former escapee.

Can you imagine what a delightful time was had all over the world, using that picture against us?

Posted by: avalon at June 17, 2008 12:49 PM

Yep, remember that day well. When I heard the news I called a friend and asked him if he felt he were living in the Third Reich at that moment. I too think that history might not be too kind to Janet Reno when all is said and done. Mostly the current crop of 'Social Historians' (or as my Mentor in College called them 'Janitorial Historians') have to drop dead.

I wanted to laugh my ass off at the stupidity of the group that recently came out saying McCain wouldn't be a good choice, based on History. Buncha fucknuts with nothing better to do than listen to themselves talk. History doctoral thesis are just an excercise in mutual masturbation.

AP cropped the original sentence, to be more accurate it should read

Elian Gonzalez ... will never let down ex-President Fidel Castro and his brother Raul Castro OR ELSE

What really got me when I saw the video of that kid being taken was the female ATF agent although you couldn't hear the female agent, her lips said "give me the fucking kid" didn't have to be a lip reader to read that when she said it. Wow, tough woman, eh?
