Teenage Muslim Murdered by Father for Talking to Infidel
The latest from the Religion of Peace:
An Iraqi teenage girl was brutally murdered by her father in an "honour killing" after she fell in love with a British soldier in Basra.
Seventeen-year-old Rand Abdel-Qader told her best friend how she had fallen for Paul, a 22-year-old she met at a charity where she worked as a volunteer.
When her father learned she had been seen speaking to a foreigner he rushed home and butchered her, strangling and stabbing her while screaming that he was "cleansing his honour".
He was arrested, but Iraqi police took no action.
There was no suggestion of a physical relationship. Just talking to an infidel is crime enough. Her two brothers assisted in Rand's murder, which was accomplished by standing on her throat and stabbing her.
Police released the father after two hours. After all, he was only cleansing his honor.
This is the culture Europe is allowing to supplant its own in the name of multiculturalism.
On a tip from Lyle.

And yet even more reason for us to pressure the Iraqi government to be a secular one that protects freedom of religion for ALL its citizens: Muslim, Coptic Christian, Zoroastrian (yes, I think there are a few in Iraq) and Atheist. It needs to be a country of Rights, not Theocratic/Tribal Laws.
That douchebag father and his two sons should be taken out into the public square and flogged repeatedly. This 'Honour Killing' shit needs to stop.

PS - In a perfect world, that poor girl's 'beau' and his squadmates would be the ones dragging those scum out into the streets to be publicly executed.

Man, what a sick culture. Our boys have put their lives on the line to bring about a free Iraq, not something like this...

Hey. In the UK or San Francisco, the police would have held him for at least 5 hours, before releasing him to his ACLU lawers.....
In San Francisco, he would get a day named after him by the City Govt.

Very sad. What's also sad is the MOD response; how they need to improve "cultural awareness" effectively. That's BS.
These women need our help and our strength. They need western values. To hell with cultural awareness. I may have to turn in my Libertarian Conspiracy Membership Card for saying this but- it's time the rest of the world learned to be scared of us again.
The best damned troops in the world are operating in Iraq and Afghanistan right now. Lions led by politically correct donkeys.

As usual, Ian, you're right on the money. Time to bring back hanging. When it comes to considering whether to commit murders of "honor," the Brits need to put their thumbs on the scales and find out who really believes in honor killings.

OT
demented moonbats in Hawaii are moving us toward a union of 49 states, in the name of multiculturalism and identity politics.

So this sick f*cker "rushed home" and butchered his daughter - based on what, rumors he heard at the camel market? Ribbing from a couple of his buddies? Did he make ANY effort to determine the truth of the accusation? Not that it would excuse what he did, of course.
That waste of oxygen obviously did not love his daughter; considered her, in fact, less than human. Dear God, I hope we haven't sacrificed our American troops for a country full of these degenerates! Please tell me he's the exception and not the rule!

In addition to the obvious tragedy, the soldier in question will go through the rest of his life knowing that because he engaged in friendly banter with the girl, she suffered a horrible fate.
One thing that always stands out to me when reading these cases is the complicity of any sons in the family. I can't imagine a sane Western guy standing on the neck of his sister and stabbing her, because Dad said to do it. The lifetime memories of growing up with what is supposed to be a loved relative don't seem to make many of them even hesitate. Multiculturalism is a disaster for women.

Why are there never any outcries from the big mouth feminists over stories like this? Where is a feminazi when we need one? A coven meeting with other NOW members? Bah!

elisa,
If you study Islam it will quickly become clear that these vermin are not the exception. This is the sort of thing their perverted prophet (may the piss of a thousand pigs rain upon his head) ordered them to do.

There is nothing more backward than Islam as a Culture. Their rules that they can have and convert women of other Cultures, but that no other Cultures can have their women, well, it boils down to the eradication of anything non-Islamic within a couple of generations. Islam, if they could pull it off, would wipe everyone else out by forcing the Muslim Culture on all women and turning every non-compliant male to slavery. Islam is out to totally conquer and dominate. They must be stopped and they themselves are the ones that ought to be eradicated for their twisted views. There is no compromise with those not willing to compromise themselves. I wish that all Westerners and non-Muslims would get a fucking move on and understand that.

"Man, what a sick culture. Our boys have put their lives on the line to bring about a free Iraq"
Unfortunately, we've put their lives on the line to allow Iraqis to be free Muslims. Therefore, we should not be surprised when they act like Muslims.

Ian, I have read about so many of these killings, but like everyone else, it makes me wonder why the blood of so many of our precious young men and women has been spilled to make these people free, and they can't even imprison a father that kills his daughter in the name of "choke, gag... honor"??? I read a post on honor killing on Cao's Blog and she had a picture of a young Afghan woman (16 I think) who's abusive husband got angry with her and cut her nose off and beat her. American troops are arranging for her to get plastic surgery, but what pain and suffering these women go through. I guess I'm feeling this harder right now because my son's best childhood friend is training to deploy to Iraq or Afghanistan in October and I had to bid him goodbye this weekend. I tell myself that these people deserve to live in freedom, but then when these things occur, I wonder if they really are ready for it. So sad.

Well, I think we need to remember that Iraq was a secular nation (if a nasty dictatorship) prior to the invasion and not all Iraqis are like this. I think we made a significant mistake pandering to the religious leaders and elements in that society, and I think there was a dire lack of consideration of post-liberation Iraq prior to the invasion.
But also we're hamstrung by the Left. By trying to satisfy them and be softly softly, we opened the door to this resurgence of religiously/culturally motivated sectarianism and primitive barbarity. As such in many ways we let moderate/modern Iraqis down badly, especially the women.
It's easy for me, as someone with no power to say what I'd do, different for our politicians dealing with the real world. But I think we needed to go in with an overt society reform agenda, as with the rebuilding of Germany or Japan post WWII. Maybe we didn't have the moral authority to do that (back then, the excuse was that the entire populations of those nations were complicit in the barbarism of the regimes we deposed, and we were victors in a clearly moral war). But if we weren't going to be able to take the place over and run it like that after the invasion, maybe we shouldn't have done it at all.
I don't think Bush or Blair seriously considered the people of Iraq at all. Blair in particular is a utopian and genuinely believes, because of his faith, that all "people of faith" are somehow rather nice. I think Bush's religious conviction leads him in that direction too. But that isn't true.
We've had too many decades of the left's worldview and cultural equivalence. The Western way is superior. But we dare not say that any more. And thus we end up complicit in barbarism. Honour killing and the whole honour system is deeply rooted in these people; not all Iraqis or Afghans, but many of them. Unless you're going to consciously go in and root it out, it will remain.
But what do I know? We can't even get to grips with it in the EU. That's how weak we've become, and how close to collapse we are.

I know what you are saying Ian is spot on with my beliefs. So many women suffer under the barbarism of extremist Islam.
I look at what is happening in the world and it is easy to lose heart. I used to want to travel to the UK and see Birmingham, England and Coleraine, No Ireland, because that is where both sides of my mother's family came from originally, but I doubt that I could deal with seeing what is happening there. It certainly wouldn't feel much like a vacation/holiday. And to see all the "beginnings" of the same happening here and there is so little one can do. So it is hard to believe that any of us would have the power to change a travesty in the Middle East that has been the norm for thousands of years.
