San Franfreakshow Introduces Parking Meters for Bums

As if concerned that even a quarter dropped in a derelict's coffee cup might challenge bureaucratic hegemony, San Francisco is taking control of micro charity with parking meters for homeless people.

Instead of giving your change to a person, you put it in a machine, so the bureaucracy can dole out the right amounts to the right constituencies.

SF's "homelessness czar," Dariush Kayhna, modestly admits:

This is not going to solve poverty. But it is another strategy to see if we can save lives out there.

Homeless advocates upped the absurdity ante by whining about stereotypes. Who says bums blow all their free change on drugs and alcohol? Wails Sister Bernie Galvin of Religious Witness with Homeless People:

Forget the children, forget the mothers who are struggling to raise their family homeless or in inadequate housing. Will the city never give up on trying to find ways to make the lives of homeless people harder?

In counterpoint to Sister Bernie's bleeding-heart rhetoric, San Francisco's moonbatty policies have attracted bums from all over the world, causing the city to be so overrun with them that even liberal bureaucrats, who exploit derelicts as justification for socialist policies, want to lower their numbers.

It will come as a shock to you that Berkley is using tax dollars ($500,000) to deem some religions acceptably politically correct based on their doctrines regarding evolution.

Someone told me the other day that the left NEEDS evolution to be true. Conservative look at human nature and unchanging thus we can learn from the mistakes of those in the past. Liberals tend to vie humans as programmable, people can be taught 'better' ways to live and human nature thus changed to suit their needs. They are thus free of the bonds of historic human failures.

The Social Darwinism of the radical Marxists absolutely depends upon this being true. If human nature is indeed unchanging, and not subject to politically correct indoctrination, their theories for how to create Utopia fall apart.

I wonder if I shouldn't start sending out my hate emails to Congress and the House now! It is all pretty predictable.

If San Francisco were a progressive city it would finance a homeless person's campaign for Mayor in the next election cycle.

Since SF is in one huge money crunch this year, millions in the red, I'd like an audit of every coin that goes into the Bum-O-Meters.

They have progressivly spent themselves to the poor house, while driving out business from Mom and Pop operations, to corporations.

They have also come close to driving out anyone who can afford to rent a well maintained home to people who have more rights than the home owner.

They are Progressivly going to hell........and the pace is quickening.

We can only hope mon ami! I think of them the same way I think about a big ole nest of cockroaches! Maybe the higher power will install a few "moonbat hotels"!!!!

The central planners of San Francisco are going to spend more money, buying and installing parking meters for the homeless than the homeless will receive from donations. Absolute genius! This is the same mentality the IRS has, where they spend $300,000, to collect $30,000. My father used to say, "these kind of people will jump over a dollar to pick up a nickel."

Smartest move I ever made, was to move away from the bay area, sixteen years ago!

Oiao,

"They are Progressivly going to hell........and the pace is quickening.

Please use spell check.

Seems Oiao has picked up a spelling gnat. Pesky things these gnats. They'll nag the hell out of you. They follow you from thread to thread ignoring your points and hounding you about your spelling, all the while ignoring other gnats who misspell words.

I can only assume that SanFran already has any number of homeless shelters and other relief agencies. Why can't the mayor just say "give your money to one of these groups" instead of funneling it through another city bureaucracy? Oh, wait, the question answers itself...

They said this about "Care Not Cash" when the now-mayor Gavin Newsom first came out with it. He got demonized, his plan was considered insensitive to homeless, etc.

Years later, based on the results, nobody's making fun of it anymore.

I'll see your gnat, and raise you a dingleberry.

Yes, I've attracted a spelling dingleberry.

Guess I'm not intellectual or learned enough to post......... I must be a product of the Progressive edumidcation system....

Thank god I still have my guns and religion to cling to.......
