Presence of American Troops in America Sends Pete Stark Over the Edge
Of course Democrats in Congress support the troops. But that doesn't mean they have to tolerate being in the same building with them. From a letter an enraged Fortney Hillman "Pete" Stark, Jr. (D-CA) recently sent to the Secretary of Defense:
Yesterday, while voting on the war supplemental spending bill in the House of Representatives, I couldn't help but notice a contingent of approximately 20 flag rank Army officers sitting in the House Gallery watching the debate and vote for a couple of hours. I was looking from below so I thought they were Army, but there could have been other branches present.
It's possible they were on leave time or vacation. If so, I obviously have no concern. However, if they were doing this on military time, I want an explanation of why they were there.
At a time when our nation is at war, our troops are over-extended, and the Administration is literally asking for emergency military spending, what good to the "war on terror" is having US Generals and other top ranked officers — who were likely accompanied by staff and escorted by their chauffeurs — spending hours sitting in the gallery of the House of Representatives?
Please provide for me the name, rank, branch, and duties of each of these officers, as well as the number of additional staff and drivers that were used to facilitate their attendance yesterday.
Apparently Stark has enough of a conscience not to want American soldiers to witness their ongoing betrayal by his fellow Dems.

Hat tip: Crush Liberalism; on a tip from b1bbet.

Fear is a great motivator. Guess he forgot that those same Military Men/Women are also registered voters, or did he remember only too late?
He can kiss my USMC white ass!

I am one of the people who pay the wages of Fortney Hillman "Pete" Stark, Jr. (D-CA). I demand to know NOW why this public servant is wasting HIS time and MY money staring into the upper gallery. I want a full disclosure of every breath Fortney Hillman "Pete" Stark, Jr. (D-CA) takes. I want to know how many times he farts and exhales in a day (which adds to global warming). I want to know how many times he jacked-off in a congressional bathroom over the course of his congressional career. I want to know how many times he’s eaten fillet minion when he could have settled for a hot dog. I want to know what kind of car the man rides in, and how many people it takes to drive/maintain/wash it.
I could go on for pages.
Fortney Hillman "Pete" Stark, Jr. (D-CA): GD f*cking liberal hypocrite. One of Nancy’s boys.
I think I'll find the bastard's website and try repeating this message there.

Why in the world does he want to know their names? So he can send them nasty and immature letters?
Jimbo, right on. Its time to make scumsuckers like Stark accountable for their actions.

I knew this skidmark back in the early 70s, when he left Security National Bank to run for Congress, at which point (in a prescient moment) I dubbed him "Fartney Stork."

One would think that a self-respecting, law abiding, America-loving Congressman would like to see the military ranks observing their deliberations.

Must Watch!!! – the cold hard facts! Forward this to your MoonBat associates who ignore the Illegal Immigrant threat on the USA.
From a post on the Free Republic.
Someone should shove this down Starks pie hole, since you know where he stands on the Illegal Immigrant concern.

In other news-
The former Church Of England, now the religious wing of the Moonbat Movement, condemns evangelisation of Christianity. Note that it's the good Bishop of Rochester, the Rt Rev Michael Nazir-Ali, getting it in the neck again for daring to suggest that christians are allowed to prefer Christianity over competing religions.

Yes, you would, but what's that got to do with Fartney Stork?

I see, Fortney thinks he too can resort to Clintonian methods of silencing people, because he is SO important. Why didn't Fortney just grab the microphone and address those soldiers right then and there?
Some one should email this story to Rush, Medved, Beck, Savage, Levin, and others.

Neighbors begging UK nanny state not to cut down their 150-year old beautiful tree, a rare Chilean Pine that could live for 800 years. UK says, the needles could injure schoolchildren, though that has never ever happened, so the tree's gotta go. Not yet assessed: whether cutting down the CO2-consuming tree might exacerbate global warming.

And speaking of, um, the cost of Illegal Immigration...
A Washington town confronts its language barrier – guess which language – Illegal Spanish
They just can’t find enough translators who speak English….
Nine out of 10 Mattawa residents speak Spanish at home, and 8 out of 10 adults speak English "less than very well," according to the 2000 U.S. Census.
the federal government has stepped in to mandate that the city bridge the divide.
The Justice Department said the town had to provide translation for people who aren't English-proficient.
The local government struggles with growing pains and has a limited tax base.
More than half of the property owners don't pay taxes because they are subsidized or nonprofits.

Today they are coming for your Chilean Pines. Tomorrow it will be for your Spanish Daggers (and other yucca).

He's so enraged that valuable U.S. military time was spent observing our government at work that he's demanding that the U.S. military waste valuable time compiling the name, rank, branch, and duties of each of the attending officers, as well as the number of additional staff and drivers? Yeah, makes perfect sense.

According to the Patriot Post: Unknown to Stark, who recently accused Republicans of sending our kids to Iraq “to get their heads blown off for the president’s amusement,” the officers were part of a class of senior Army War College officers. They were combat veterans all, and they were taking part in an officially approved tour of Congress as part their curriculum. You’re a class act, Fortney.
And from the the Int'l Herald Tribune: "I appreciate the swift response," Stark said in his follow-up statement, without retracting or apologizing for his earlier complaints. "However, if these officers were hoping for a lesson in how Congress ought to work, then perhaps the Iraq supplemental wasn't the best debate for them to witness."
In the course of the somewhat chaotic House action Thursday, the war spending bill fell to defeat after Republicans withheld their votes to punish Democratic tactics — probably as good as an example as any of how the House operates.

looks like stark forgot to update his positions on just about everything...his website: http://www.petestark.com/index.html makes references to stuff from about three years ago. funny though, he talks about all the wonderful changes that will occur now that big Nance is the speaker and repubs are out. I suspect the reason this lunatic hasn't updated is cause none of those wonderful things have occurred.

Is there any reason why Democrats, Leftists, and Liberals are some of the dumbest people on earth when a moron like Pete Stark starts to question why military personnel, who also happen to be Americans, are seating in the house gallery watching their 11% rating of Congress slide even deeper?
