Bottom line: Barack is going to be the Democratic candidate, and the Democrats want the White House much, much more than than they care who said what about this or that. If Michelle came out tomorrow and said, "Kill all the white people", WaPo, NY Times and Reuters would explain that "kill" means "discuss longstanding issues of racial discriminiation, toward the purpose of coming together".

I'm convinced there's nothing Obama or his wife can do or say, at this point, short of a major felony, that would derail (a) his nomination by his party, and (b) a big turnout of Democratic party voters to vote for him.

I don't mean to be technical or nit-picky, but aside from the fact that no science model in the world could pin a "disaster" date to within 18 months (climatic, geological and other natural events go in cycles of decades, centuries and even millennia), just exactly what do you think you can do in that time frame? Regrow a rainforest in a year and a half? End "global warming" (or is it cooling now) by throwing billions of dollars...tax dollars...into third-world countries? The conservation of rain forests IS worth doing, but in countries with corrupt, sometimes dictatorial governments like you find in Central & S. America, that won't be easy. Instead of throwing money at them, how about OVERthrowing tin-horn, banana-republic-style "governments" and making that area the 51st state? No? Then get off our backs, please. If you won't do something that would REALLY make a difference, then stop picking our pockets for things that won't.

Having seen the poll results they were showing this morning... I think you are right. The Demonrats have their blinders on and Obama has been playing his jolly tune as the Pied Piper!
Even with the stories about the murdered Chior Director and Larry Sinclair, you are seeing details of the stuff on the MSM. Obama is like like the Teflon Politician.
