Limousine Leftist John Cusack: Corporations Threaten New Deal by Torturing People

As mentioned earlier, the squishy-soft socialist John Cusack is putting out yet another anti-Iraq movie. In the course of promoting it, he has made abundantly clear why actors should stick to reading their scripts and munching their caviar, and leave thinking to the grownups. A taste of his trendy ravings:

[M]aybe in the future congress won't even have to declare war, because it can just get private contractors and mercenaries and we can just exempt them from international law, right?
That's what is really happening right now in the country and they even outsource interrogation, which means they made interrogations a cost plus for profit business, so that means the torture is for profit. That is what is happening right now in our country, so I mean these people are insane and that's the truth of it. […] They are outsourcing what it means to be a state and what it means to be a government. That's not just destroying the new deal, that's destroying the country[…] There's that sense of "We have to accept this narrative about the way the world is" and this sort of sense of inevitability about the corporations and what they do. […Democrats ought to] shut down congress every day just to let it be known that American companies aren't allowed to just torture people.

Cusack had better watch his mouth. Corporate executives might sneak into his mansion at night to torture him. If they would threaten the New Deal with their sadistic activities, clearly nothing is too evil for them.

The voices tell Cusack that corporations are insane.

WOW, wish I could get a hit off the bong he's been hitting on! NOT!!!!

Per Laura Ingraham's show this morning... the Che Guavera movie at the International Film Festival was a retarded, subtitled, 4 1/2 hour long boondoggle that lionized the murderer/butcher of innocent Cuban people!!! All the viewers of the film left with a glazed look in their eyes that indicates that years of therapy may be required! Hollyweird moonbats are sure great commie propogandists!!!

Johnny Cusack seems to be taking literally what Team America: World Police parodied about dim-witted Hollywood celebrities:

Tim Robbins: Let me explain to you how this works: you see, the corporations finance Team America, and then Team America goes out... and the corporations sit there in their... in their corporation buildings, and... and, and see, they're all corporation-y... and they make money.

So sad... I loved his earlier movies, before he let his personal moonbattery bleed over into his work. "Better off Dead", "Grosse Point Blank"... great movies, sigh. Guess I'll have to consign him to the "lost to the Left" heap from this point on. Too bad--he's a much better entertainer than a propagandist.

Then again, if his propaganda films suck, maybe that's a positive thing :)

You know, i love all the Actors when they just act, they are very talented people and they should just stick to their trade. When they open their mouths about politics, it's like they are a totally different person and they say such stupid things. Please! Hollywood Actors, just act and keep your mouths shut. We don't care what you think.

Lute, the problem is that the roles these talented actors play anymore are almost always purely leftist in nature. Almost everything I watch on tv or in the theater is so jam-packed with liberal sentiment that it makes me want to gag. It's so rare to actually be entertained anymore without having global warming, anti-war, pro-choice, etc. shoved in my face... they've tainted it all. Oh well... there are always DVD's of older stuff to watch.

>>That's not just destroying the new deal...>>

The New Deal? THE NEW DEAL?? Even Roosevelt said that the New Deal was a TEMPORARY measure and when preperation for war opened the factories again, he considered the "ND's" job done and was planning for it to be phased out! What century are these Liberals living in?

But come to think of it, Americans having the courage and spirit of the 1930s WOULD be a good thing.

Yes, Thulsa. A textbook example of this can be found in the last few seasons of 'The Simpsons.' For the last few years, every other episode of that show revolves around cramming a liberal view on some subject down our throats with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer. Lisa has gone from the kind, charming, and wise girl of the first few seasons to an obnoxious, self- righteous, arrogant little brat who always forces her views on everyone, and throws a temper tantrum whenever anyone disagrees with her. Yet (And this is what's most sickening about it), the show always portrays her as a HERO for acting that way, while portraying all consevative characters as either stupid, ignorant, or evil. Ned Flanders, for instance, the guy who was once portrayed as the prudish- yet- friendly guy next door, is now usually portrayed as a mean, brainless zealot who almost always gets proven wrong in some way when an episode focuses on him.
The movie was all right, though. In fact, the villain of the movie could almost be seen as an unintentional nod to Al Gore. The TV series, however, is quickly trying my patience.

Leftists have some purpose (at very limited times) and that purpose sometimes is to be so stupid that we will overlook some things which they spout. There can be clear problems with some of this trend toward "privatisation" (in criminal justice and prisons for instance) and they need to be looked at seriously, but just not in that kooky way that Hollywood and leftists have of presenting the issues and twisting the problems to a leftist viewpoint.

Re. Simpsons moonbattery -- I get the feeling the shift has happened since Sam Simon (the reason the Simpsons was funny - Groening did little more than create the characters) left the show to do other projects.

In the earlier seasons Lisa's obnoxious turns always ended up biting her in the @$$ (like her flirtation with vegetarianism which she realised had alienated her from Homer) .. Around about season 10 (which was the time Simon left, IIRC) one comment in an episode caught my ear; One of the Simpsons' trademark facetious non-sequiturs about government funding going where it's really needed, and the last item on the list was "Israel."

Implication being that the US giving aid to Israel is ridiculous and shouldn't be done.

I suspect Groening's eventual victory in the struggle for creative control is what took the show from even-handed satire (the Republican Bob Roberts episode satire of Rush Limbaugh and conservative Republicans is classic) to liberal idiocy that is so contrived and un-funny it's not even a shadow of what it used to be..

Meanwhile in Sam Simon's other projects (catch King of the Hill sometime) he continues to show that he can create great humour and biting social satire without being condescending or an up-himself liberal twat..

(Sorry I'm a huuuuge Simpsons fan hehe)
