This should frighten everyone. We are now officially on the downward spiral with Europe. These laws are UNCONSTITUTIONAL folks. Sad and sickening to me. As we do so, laws like this must come because diversity is only possible with tyrannical rules to force the other on everyone else.

Here's where my inner libertarian speaks up :)

The rot regarding consitutionality IMV stems from the disastrous decision by the Supreme Court that there should be two classes of speech- "protected" and "unprotected". Now I'm not an American, but I do admire the US Constitution, and I've read it closely but nowhere within the free speech clause is there a caveat or any hint that some speech should not be protected by the clause.

And I have to say here that on some issues, conservatives are every bit as eager as faux-liberals to unprotect speech- as regards eh lewd publications for instance. The problem is, once you've set that precedent you've opened the door to abuse of freedom.

Liberals love to talk about absolute free speech, but only in terms of the right to call Bush Hitler or servicemen war criminals, and such. They divide speech into free speech and "hate speech", and don't accept that "hate speech" is speech at all, and thus they feel free to censor it. This is the same thing. This is why I'm a free speech fundamentalist (and I live in the EU, lol, don't laugh too hard guys). Either you have absolute freedom of speech, or it doesn't exist. It's like virginity; you either have it or you don't.

So that's why I think conservatives need to take a more libertarian approach on these issues, because if you don't, the liberals will destroy you, one cut at a time.

It's a bit like somebody shouting "motherf*ck*r* in church. It's inappropriate, none of us would approve of that, we may be so offended we say "that shouldn't be allowed, something must be done!". But God help you if you make it a criminal offence; because you've just invited the government inside, and once they're in they won't stop until they're standing behind the vicar scrutinising his every word.
