Why Is Chelsea Clinton Hanging Out with the John Edwards Crowd?

From Willamette Week:

Yes, Chelsea Clinton made it to the infamous "Red Dress" Party. Not to be confused with that other annual "Red Dress" fundraiser, this is the "Red Dress Party," a mondo-alcohol-fueled dance party where nearly 2,000 gay men in various states of red dress undress (and several nearly naked straight men as well as one very colorfully decorated naked woman) invade a warehouse in Northeast Portland and dance their collective asses off to pounding disco music and the incredible Storm Large and her Balls (they were beyond fabulous).

Seeing Chelsea in person was quite an event for the evidently male reporter:

I was supposed to ask her questions like "where are you most likely to disagree with your mom or your dad?" or "did you ever call your mom at 3 am and how did she react?" But all I could think of was that: "I am…standing in front of Hill and Bill's kid…in a red Mary Kay Cosmetics Collection dress…I'd just bought that day at the Goodwill…how weird is that?"

Amanda Carpenter replies:

I'd say that's pretty weird.

Comments

The name of this blog is very fitting for this homophobic post. So much for "freedom lovers".

Posted by: Benny at April 15, 2008 8:59 AM

Those are three butt-ugly dudes.

Posted by: V the K at April 15, 2008 9:17 AM

Chelsea is not a dude and she has blossomed. She's in the majority of Gen X'ers who don't have a problem with gays. Not only is this post homophobic, your comment is sexist. I'm married to a freedom lover and my spouse is neither homophobic nor sexist.

Posted by: Benny at April 15, 2008 9:33 AM

How is it homophobic? It may be mocking homosexuals and Chelsea but that not the same thing as fear.

The first part Willamette Week describing the "other" Red Dress Party, was simply stating what perverse and weird things gays often do. Straights do similarly weird things too and they are featured here quite often. Recently there was the woman who liked having sex with trees and a guy who screwed a picnic table.

Chelsea has "blossomed"? Good God man, get your eyes checked. Ok, shes way better looking than that hag, Amy Carter, but still, I wouldnt touch her with a 10 foot poll.

Posted by: Anonymous at April 15, 2008 9:38 AM

There is nothing "homophobic" about this post. "Homophobia" like "racism" is just a word leftists throw out when they don't like something but can't come up with a real argument against it.

Some people's asses are just too tight to appreciate a good joke.

Posted by: V the K at April 15, 2008 10:02 AM

Some people's asses are just too tight...

I doubt it. I doubt it very much.

Posted by: Jay Guevara at April 15, 2008 10:10 AM

The poster also insinuated John Edwards is gay, which he not. Ann Coulter all again, and it's asinine.

Edwards is not a Ken doll, and for heavens sake's for anyone to re-post that video of him getting ready for an interview, on FOX friggin' news, that former employee or FOX should have SUED for putting that video on YT on the Internet when all politicians have to look their best on TV. Edwards never said anything.

Edwards believes in free speech, which most of you don't around here, despite being "freedom lovers." And thank goodness he does or else this blog would not qualify as free speech.

Posted by: Benny at April 15, 2008 10:45 AM

Um, so you believe in "free speech," but when people exercise their free speech rights to make fun of a leftist metrosexual, you shriek "homophobia" and "you shouldn't be allowed to say that."

Posted by: V the K at April 15, 2008 10:53 AM

I mean, call me pedantic, but for something to really be "homophobic," shouldn't it actually, you know, reflect a hatred or fear of homosexuals?

I mean if this post is homophobic, stuff at my blog would make your head explode.

Like This.

And this.

And this.

Not so much this one.

But especially this one.

I am gonna miss that dude!

We still have free speech in the USA (except for 30 days before an election). Thank Gaia we're not in Canada!

Posted by: V the K at April 15, 2008 11:06 AM

I'll take the bait. You characterized Edwards and Chelsea incorrectly. I do believe in free speech, but your ilk, as they wish to tear the American people and others in the ME, you don't believe it. You remind me of the brownshirts of 1992, and they hurt GHWB.

You have the right, as long as Cheney approves of your messages. Otherwise, you will continue to receive criticisms, and under McSame, you may be shut out if you criticize him.

I'm an independent FWIW. And if a Democrat is in office, I believe they support net neutrality, an issue your ilk needs to address. And they support your right to be vicious about Democratic candidates. Your ilk do not. They take the 11th commandment by Reagan serious: thou shall not speak ill of our party. And that's why I think you wouldn't support net neutrality. Therefore, I support free speech and I bet my "tight ass" that you wouldn't as a Republican who has no respect for people to speak their minds.

Posted by: Benny at April 15, 2008 11:11 AM

Benny seems to have an issue with people poking fun or "stating their personal views" about homosexuality, but we won't see him going on the Huffington Post or the Daily KOS and expressing the same anger over people posting horrible comments about Nancy Reagan being ill (they were wishing her dead and a long and painful death and calling her names, etc) or over them attacking a deceased public figure like Charleton Heston (a repeat of the same horrible, wretched, sick commentary!) I was always told, out of respect for the grieving family, if I couldn't say something nice about the deceased, to keep my mouth shut! Yeah Benny, it's real easy to come on a Right Wing blog and call people homophobic or racist or express a problem with the views expressed, but would you make such a stand against the caustic comments made on liberal blogs? If you did, do you think the admins would delete your post??? You're damn skippy they would... in a heartbeat! If you don't like the views here, be prepared to be told off, but not deleted, no matter how distasteful or disrespectful you are. THAT IS FREEDOM OF SPEECH!

Freedom lovers should understand that racist, sexist, and homophobic posts in not in the psyche of someone independent and married to a Republican. My spouse and I support free speech, as long is it truly free speech, but you all don't believe it. And I know it. Enjoy what you have here. If McSame is the next President, it will be like Tibet and China, but you will probably say nothing because we won't be allowed to, despite the amendments.

Posted by: Benny at April 15, 2008 11:20 AM

Actually, I'm rooting for Hillary. So, aside from getting your "brownshirt" name-calling wrong, you also can't accuse me of homophobia.

It's kind of funny (and by that I mean unbelievably stupid) that lefties whine constantly that the Bush Admin is shutting down the free speech of anyone who disagrees with the administration. Tell that to Keith Olbermann, Rosie O'Donnell, The DailyKos, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, The (treasonous) New York Times, Cindy Sheehan, Michael Moore... and so on, and so on...

Posted by: V the K at April 15, 2008 11:30 AM

So, did some gay left-wing blog link to Moonbattery today or something? I see something calling itself "Sarah" left a brown curl of PC blather on the "Obama panders to homosexuals" thread, too.

Posted by: V the K at April 15, 2008 11:38 AM

Hey Benny!
Is your wife's name June? That would be awesome!

By the way, I believe in freedom. Gays have the freedom to purchase all the KY Jelly they need!

Write in a true conservative for president!

VOTE UCA FOR PRESIDENT-- All the lube you need!

Posted by: UCA at April 15, 2008 11:49 AM

By the way Benny.
What did Chelsea mean when she told that girl, "that's none of your business", when questioned about her mom's credibility?
Her mom's credibility was none of her business, or the fact that Bill was having an affair with a girl in the same house that they all lived in?

Chelsea better get ready for some tough questions if she's gonna campaign for someone as dishonest as Annie Oakley, excuse me, Shillary Clinton.

Posted by: UCA at April 15, 2008 12:04 PM

I just don't see where making of fun of John Edwards's metrosexuality or Chelsea hanging out with cross-dressers harms homosexuals, much less denies them any rights.

Screeching 'homophobia' when there is nothing homophobic is just another lefty trick to try and silence people they don't agree with... all the while whining that they are the ones being silenced.

Hey Benny! Is your wife's name June? That would be awesome!

net neutrality...isn't that known as the fairness doctrine in the broadcast arena? It's a clear infringement of free speech.

Benny,
You apparently don't understand the concept of free speech.
Here's a cluebat; you're whining and complaining about others exercising it as you're exercising it here without penalty. Part of free speech is being able to ridicule things you find ridiculous.
Free speech is being able to speak out about things you disagree with. Maybe you could commiserate with Michael Moore, Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, Medea Benjamin, Cindy Sheehan and all the others who have been thrown in the gulag by Bush.

What if I weren't a man?

"I'm married to a freedom lover and my spouse is neither homophobic nor sexist."

"What if I weren't a man?"

Are you?

Posted by: steven at April 15, 2008 12:49 PM

You have the right, as long as Cheney approves of your messages. Otherwise, you will continue to receive criticisms...

Benny, Benny. Free speech means you won't be prosecuted for saying something. It doesn't mean you can't be criticized (or laughed at), for cryin' out loud. Man up.

Posted by: Jay Guevara at April 15, 2008 12:58 PM

Benny is one of those Liberals who think that anyone who says something HE AND HIS KIND deem 'offencive' should NOT be alowed to exercise free speach.
HEY BENNY, you said stuff that was both offencive AND stupid! According to YOUR rules, you must SHUT UP! Unless you want to admit that what you REALLY MENT is that 'anyone who does not toe the LIBERAL line should be denied freedom'?

Posted by: KHarn at April 15, 2008 1:33 PM

V the K, Thanks for the links to your blog, man.
I'm sore from laughing. You're in my favorites now.

Posted by: steven at April 15, 2008 5:48 PM

Enjoy your free speech. Liberals and progressives have kept free speech alive. Conservatives expect to be brown shirts and march in step.

And guess what? I don't have a wanker as most who have posted here do.

Posted by: Benny at April 15, 2008 9:34 PM

Enjoy your free speech. Liberals and progressives have kept free speech alive. Conservatives expect all of us to wear brown shirts and march in step.

And guess what? I don't have a wanker as most who have posted here do.

Posted by: Benny at April 15, 2008 9:35 PM

You're boring us with your silly fantasies, Benny. We've heard all that nonsense before.
Liberals and progressives are responsible for campus speech codes and political correctness. Liberals and progressives destroy conservative campus newspapers because "they're dangerous" and shout down conservative speakers on college campuses because "they're dangerous" and their arguments are "not part of free speech".
Conservative resistance to this evil is the only reason we don't have a gulag in this country.
Liberalism = Fascism...and hypocrisy...and an inability to comprehend the fact that ideas have consequences...

Posted by: steven at April 16, 2008 5:50 AM

and Benny,
You may not HAVE a wanker but you ARE a wanker. Is your spouse male or female? Are you?

Posted by: steven at April 16, 2008 5:54 AM

Thanks, Steve.

And thank you, Benny, for once again demonstrating how lefties use lame insults and fantasies of oppression in place of critical thinking and dealing with reality.

Posted by: V the K at April 16, 2008 6:26 AM

Liberal Peaceniks are tracable to the World Communist Party

Yeah, you libtards are the guardian's of free speech alright. Your favorite organization, The World Worker's Party supports every form of Communist suppression happening, including what is happening to the Tibetians.
