Thomas Friedman Pied by Eco-Commies
Conservative speakers have long been used to campus progressives responding to their reasoned arguments by throwing food. Drunk on the success of Obama's campaign, the Left has become so radicalized that now even liberals can be targets if they are perceived to be insufficiently rabid. Yesterday's Brown Daily Herald reports from the vaunted Ivy League:
A female audience member ran on stage last night and threw a green pie at New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, who had just begun a lecture on environmentalism in Salomon 101. The woman had been sitting in the south side of the auditorium's front row when she pulled the pie out of a Brown Bookstore plastic bag that had been tucked in a red backpack and leapt out of her seat.
At the same time the woman threw the pie, a male accomplice seated a few rows back ran down the aisle and onto the stage, throwing small pamphlets explaining the actions into the crowd.
After the pie hit Friedman and splattered on his face and torso, the two jumped offstage and ran out of the southeast exit of the building, followed closely by a man trying to catch them. […]
The pamphlets thrown by the male accomplice identified the pair as the "Greenwash Guerillas," who wrote that they were acting "on behalf of the earth (sic) and all true environmentalists."
One side of the pamphlet contains an excerpt from a September 2006 review of Friedman's book, "The World is Flat," written by Raymond Lotta for the journal "Revolution," which styles itself as the "Voice of the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA." The review is highly critical of Friedman, who the review claims cannot see his own errors while "seated in the business class of his analytical jetliner."
The other side contains five bullet-points explaining why "Thomas Friedman deserves a pie in the face," which include reasons like "his sickeningly cheery applaud for free market capitalism's conquest of the planet," and "for helping turn environmentalism into a fake plastic consumer product for the privileged."
I hate to be the one to break this to lunatic lefties, but modern environmentalism has always been fake and geared toward the privileged — that's why it's so popular among Ivy League students.
Needless to say, Huffington Post readers applaud the pie-throwing. Friedman needs to be silenced and humiliated because he is not sufficiently extreme on environmental issues — despite being the hysterical fanatic who called for "radical collective action" to combat the imaginary global warming crisis.
True Friedman is a high-living eco-hypocrite; but so is the Goracle himself — are they going to pie him? Come to think of it, PETA just might.

The long knives seem to be coming out on a regular basis these days. Thomas Friedman, Hillary Clinton, Alan Colms et al are targets because they're not liberal enough? Oh man, this is just going to keep getting uglier.
Kos and Olbermann etc are doing a great job of agitating people who are unhinged to begin with.

When David Horowitz and his group of speakers made the rounds to college campuses during "Islamofacist Awareness Week" they were pelted with pies and all kinds of things. Speaking the truth to libtarded college students is risky business. If I had a kid in some of these colleges, I'd be demanding a refund!

Is it just me, or does it seem like the left is kind of going into supernova mode, as identity politics and leftwing extremism undergo their death rattles?
OK, in fairness, this is probably wishful thinking on my part, but I'm struck by how the vitriol once reserved for Americans is now being directed at fellow Democrats.

After those douchebags get through offing us, since we're the untermensch, the most ruthless and megalomaniacal of them comes to the forefront and either kills off or drives/suppresses out the weaker. All that left afterwards is the ruling oligarchy and the huddled masses that either passively supported or didn't actively oppose the 'revolution'.

I've already decided... I'm asking for the Dem ballot in the primary here in Indiana, and ole Hitlery is getting the only and last vote she'll ever get from me!!!! LOL!!!
Obama will be in my hometown Saturday... you have to go get a freebie ticket to attend. I'm not going out of my way to see the troll... might get hit by the libtard, brain cell death ray if I do!!! My wife and I voted for the Hilldog in PA, and I didn't get too ill over it. I can't stand her, but I can't stand Obama even more. And I got pretty sick of all the media people saying reverend White and the BO's elitist comments weren't going to matter. They mattered to the tune of about 5% of the vote. He didn't even win Allegheny County!
If Hillary actually gets the nomination, I might feel rotten about it, because she would be a stronger candidate in the general election. No doubt in my mind about that - I don't care what the idiot pundits say.

I hear ya forest. I'm still thinking we may get a third party candidate that is worth something before fall. For now, Obama has to be stopped. At least I can honestly say Hillary doesn't hate America... but I still may take a barf bag to the polls for after I vote! Either candidate will give McPain a run for his money because he isn't that strong a candidate... he's too darn liberal. Right now I just need to do the right thing and getting Obama out feels right. I am really hating this election.
